this was very helpful, because my dad owns a 1980 bespin luke and he wanted to put it back but he didnt know how,so i showed him this and he was a happy man
Awesome! I have a couple of c9.5+ Boba Fetts that want to recard for my wall. Where do you but the cards and bubbles? And how accurate are the card? Can you tell the difference between the reproduction and an original?
I only ask because I have a few very scrupulous collectors that hang out at my house frequently, and I know seeing a few carded Fetts would make them shit their pants (only one of them has a carded Fett, a desert scene ROTJ, and it's only AFA 70)
I don't mind people doing this for their display as long as its pretty obvious to a collector its not original. Most recards I've seen don't have a punch cut that the originals do and the bubbles look either too big. I've heard of people buying original bubbles off cards and trying that to make it look more authentic.
hey man well, I not into StarWars anymore even tho I still love it, I collect WWE toys now. What store or where can I get those plastic thingy? I'm looking for something for my 8-10inch tall figures? I wanna do a display of WWE action figures. Thanks for the tips.
This was a helpful How-To series- thanks! I stumbled upon it while searching for tutorials on custom cardbacks. I'm trying to create a HotWheels custom card & need some pointers. Where can I find some tips, tricks, tutorials on how to create a professional looking custom cardback? Also, what's the best way to clean paper/glue residue off a bubble edge (where it used to attach to the card)? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks again for the helpful video!
Glad this video helped you. As far as creating custom cardbacks, you should watch Episode #3 of "Vintage Star Wars Weekly" here on youtube. I give several sites in that episode that might be of use to you.
As for removing glue from bubbles, you should try Zippo fluid. I know it works great on price stickers.
I'm actually going to upload a new tutorial this coming week that shows how to use Zippo fluid to remove price sickers from cardbacks, so be sure to check it out.
wouldent it look better if u cleand the inside of the bubble whith a pice of cloth? like that pice of t-shirt to remove the finger fat`? btw that had a great outcome, well maybe 1 day ild try it out
Great job! Because of you, I will recard my figures.(For the sake of display only.) Very cool way to show off my collection. I am currently using individual snap bubbles. Not any more.. Thank you, and keep up the good work.
You'll love the way your collection is going to look on display after you get it recarded. Be sure to catch tomorrows episode of "Vintage Star Wars Weekly"(Mon. May, 19, 2008), because Princess Midori is going to start her first vintage figure give-away contest.
Yes, we will be covering lots of different things. In fact, the only time recarding will come up in the show will probably be when we give away a recarded vintage figure. The shows main focus is vintage figures and variants of the figures. We will spotlight a different figure every week and discuss that figure in depth. Episode 1 of the show has already been released, so you can watch it out now. Episode 2 comes out this Monday and it features the original Luke Skywalker figure.
i love the idea of recarding for display pourposes and this is a awesome but i hope the figures you recard you dont sell as new but all in all cant wait for the weekly show. Also was that the princesses voice in the background
I don't sell any of my recards. I'm in the process of recarding a full set of vintage figures. If you check out my other videos, you can see my recard collection. I've still got a LONG way to go, but I'll get there one day. And no, that was not Princess Midori talking in the background of this video. But don't worry, you'll get to see her in the very first episode of the weekly show. She's going to introduce herself to the viewers and explain how you can all enter her monthly give-away contests.
I had to pull the old version so I could post this updated version. This is basically the same video as before, but it has info at the end about the upcoming weekly show. The next video I post will be the first episode of the weekly show on May 12.
