Tattoo isn't a bad song. If that song was released in 1984 nobody would have thought anything of it. They are playing classic rock, except that the music isn't old enough to be considered classic yet. What, did everyone think the new album from the hard rockin' Van Halen was going to sound like today's hard rock bands? It is an older style of music. I enjoy it. Am I expecting them to sound... Older? Yes. They ARE older. But that doesn't mean they don't have anything left to offer. Go Eddie.

@LemonCake07 Hey - my brother saw them on the Diver Down tour at the Garden...I was eight years old at the time. He thought Roth was horrible that night. He saw them again a few years back in LA - and thought they sounded as good as he's ever heard them...and he's been a fan since the beginning. It kind of depends how Roth is. I'm going on the 28th as well. I wish us both a great time. It will be my first Van Halen concert as well.

@rftc.unfortunately we all age. Tattoo is growing on me. The lyrics are definitely Dave. Fair Warnig- great album! a bit dark for VH. 5150 Awesome. I loved the Dave era- BIGTIME! I was one of those who when Sammy came in I was like a kid on Christmas, I loved how they reinvented themselves. A lot of people blame Sammy for that sound- Ed created the sound, Sammy's voice fit it perfectly.I will say post 5150 is pretty powerful stuff, AFU, Dont Tell Me, Black & Blue, to name a few. Luv it all!

Glad to see that so many younger kids seem to be figuring out that the first Rother era VH albums are basically a cornerstone of modern rock & roll. I saw them with Roth on tour a few years ago, and they are all shadows of their former selves,sadly. Still though,better than most of what you'll see in an arena. 5150 is worthwhile, but most of what came after that is fairly generic. Fair Warning was probably the high point.

Alot of memories of the early 80s when I was 10-15 years old. The first concert I EVER saw was the LAST original Van Halen concert in Detroit in 1984, when I was 14. Incredible how music can make you feel how you FELT back then. Nice to listen to again.
