I love how they always make a point of talking about how the guy isn't a dirty player. Sort of like when you watch boxing and there's an obvious headbutt and they talk about how there's no way it was intentional.
@jcawesome2 yeah lets jus take hitting out of the game. what a dumb comment. hitting is part of the fucking game, whether its called for or not.. are you one of those fags that want it out of the game?
@shotty2222 ok look cuz obviously you dont know what the fuck your talking about, first off the only reason I watch Hockey is becuase it has hitting. If it didnt I would think its as boring as watching soccer. 2nd off hits like that can end careers. 3rd off im assuming your a dallas stars fan becuase you are disagreeing with my comment. 4th off I am too and that hit was even worse than what the Boston guy did to Ray Sawada.
@jcawesome2 im not a stars fan, i just hate it when people critisize hitting in the game now adays... guys gotta keep their fucking heads up and maybe hits like this wouldnt be as severe because they could brace themselves. when guys talk about blindside hits or hits to the head i think about what if he kept his fucking head up maybe he wouldnt get smashed. i relise this isnt an open ice hit but its the same thing. guys should know when certain guys are on the ice they need to watch out.
@shotty2222 you say that BUT.... Neal isnt a hitter it was a cheap shot now and you have to be tough to play hockey, if a guy is motionless on his back, it clearly is a cheap shot
@jcawesome2 no its not its because of these factors: A) he hit the glass really hard. if it was a open ice it it wouldnt have hurt so bad he was in that postition like 2 feet from teh boards where you smack them really hard B) he should have been aware. Neal is known for hitting and he is a very strong player. just becuase a powerforward doesnt hit really often doesnt mean he'll hit everyonce in a while.
its a questionable hit. prucha's my boy 100%, its a tough call. jovo did his job by showing that neal shouldn't hit a smaller guy like that. i say it could be a blind sided hit...i can just say that neal is a douche. so whatever.
Judging by the video, I would say that it is an intentionally clean hit. However, I do believe that Neal's elbow reached up higher than he intended on it reaching.
@CF2VP Your the blindest fuck in the world. Do you know what part of your body an elbow is? And the announcers are obviously clueless, One played in the NHL, and one has been an announcer for about 25 years. They obviously know nothing about hockey..... Idiot.
Do you mean their self-imposed cap is 45?? cuz i just checked a website and it says their payroll is 47 million with bonuses. I'm just wondering because I heard they don't have the room to sign Neal so someone will probably send him an offer sheet
@Fifa09Wii Their self-imposed cap is 45. since it is the off season I imagine they may have some players that could still get traded or let go. I thought they signed Neal to a 3 year contract. I'm not positive on that I should check it out.
Ya i'd think so too, but they'd need to get rid of 5 mil and i don't think anyone would want to take Ribeiro off their hands. Someone might take Richards though considering hes a UFA next year. Who else do they have that makes significant money that they could trade?? because if someone makes an offer sheet than they'd have to find a trade pretty quickly
@Fifa09Wii It was Erickson i was thinking of. I would think they would let some other guys go to make roon for Neal since he is one of their core guys. We will have to wait and see.
@ghockeygoalie that was clean hit he hit his shoulder. pruca was off balance and went head first into the glass these r coyote comentators and they are wrong. shit like this happens a lot in hockey. neal didnt hit his head at all.
oh look, no suspension for Neal...what does that mean? IT WAS A CLEAN HIT. All of you who think this was dirty obviously do not know hockey, so please stop watching this sport because you just embarrass yourselves by making wild accusations
@Twigs1317 I wouldn't go to say that it was a clean hit, but i would say that from the angles we were given, it is very hard to tell if Neal's elbow hit prucha in the head or if it was just the glass.
wow i went to this game and when i made my way to the seat they were calling for the stretcher.Hard to tell if it was dirty but the fans were really pissed
Not a dirty hit. Prucha's injury came from when his head hit the glass. Hands down, elbow down, unfortunate that the injury happened. The problem is the hard tempered glass used in the arena. The NHL should ban that type of glass because this sort of thing has happened ever since arenas started installing that glass. The boards have no give to them whatsoever.
i dont see any reason to argue about it, im not saying my opinion, im saying a fact, if you truly believe that, you are retarded, you dont know much if anything about the game... i hate to base my statement on other peoples thoughts, but NO ONE would agree that is the worst hit in the past 5 seasons... especially with the cooke hit just happening...

Not a dirty hit mr so called ref!! listen to the comment at 1:40, its all about the glass! it wasnt a dirty hit, he hit him with the shoulder.. Neal is not a dirty player, and by the way, Way TO Stand up for your self neal when hanzel came at you!! You never like to see someone get hurt, hope he's alright, but clean hit, just a bad result
Great comment and true. Those who will argue about the shoulder hit should watch the shorter one that shows another camera angle. It's the vid that's a minute and 6 seconds long.
Plays like that are generally too fast for either player to react. Prucha couldn't have gotten himself in a better defensive position, and it didn't look like Neal could have stopped himself once he was committed to the hit. I'm leaning more towards it being dirty only because it was obvious that Prucha was pretty exposed. You only hit a guy like that if you are trying to make an extra point beyond finishing a check. An intent to injure? No. But more than a regular hockey play.
HAHAHAHA ECHL? So your ref minor league games because your not good enough to make it to the NHL, and obviously can't be mature either if your calling me a faggot
imo the few replays in the telecast r a disgrace.. the best view u can give us is from the fricken nosebleeds.. wtf.. i have no clue if it was a shoulder or an elbow,.. n never will
completely clean hit. maybe if Prucha wasn't admiring his dump in then he wouldn't have gotten hurt but this in no way was a dirty hit. The only that there's even a discussion about his is because Prucha's head hit the boards and he was concussed. If he didn't get hurt then no one would've had a problem with it. This is what bugs me. The second anyone gets hurt it's automatically either a cheapshot or a dirty play! Bottom line: clean hit; Prucha shouldn't admire his dump in
Watch the other video of this hit that is on youtube. Neal's elbow was down at his side when he hit Prucha. It was all shoulder. Clean hit, unfortunate result.
Neal lead with his elbow, and he isn't exactly a clean player. He got suspended earlier this year for hitting Derek Dorsett of the Columbus Blue Jackets from behind. I think hes got another one headed his way.
I am a Ranger fan, thus I got to watch Prucha begin his career. He was always a fan favorite because of his effort. However he ALWAYS left his guard down and once a week would get railroaded. He had a habit of keeping his head down, and sometimes watching shots and passes. Many times I could not beleive he got up. The hit was clean, if anything a tad late, but not really dirty.
I was actually AT this game, 7 rows back and a little to the right of where Prucha was hit. There was NOTHING clean about that hit! Neal is only 2 inches taller than Prucha; that's not enough to justify the elbow to his head, even with Prucha's head being down. Neal wasn't just finishing his check after Prucha dumped the puck.
That POS should have gotten a game misconduct and a suspension.
If you knew anything you would know that Phoenix is on the verge of being sold to someone who is gonna keep them in Phoenix. Gahh. Stop talking shit about Prucha. Neal hit him when the puck was long gone. That's shady right now
First off its NEAL. Second this happens in hockey all the time; it was a clean hit but prucha went into the boards weird. The only penelty that could have been called is boarding.
Prucha is known for taking big hits. He doesn't protect his body the way most players do. After getting rid of the puck, he admired his dump instead of bracing for a hit. Neal kept his elbow down on the play but he's 6' 3" and prucha was bent over. He never raised his elbow.
This comment is probably the best explanation of the hit. James Neal is a tall player and, just like other tall players like Pronger and Chara, his hits look like elbows when its just a difference in height making the hit look bad.
Neal is a cheap shot? Looks to me like Prucha is a wuss who can't take a clean hit --- or an idiot who doesn't know how to get out of the way. Not Neal's fault Prucha was ill prepared.
I was at this game and could not believe that anyone could think this was a dirty hit. The whole crowd was in an uproar saying he threw his elbow and that he should be thrown out of the game. This was a 100% CLEAN hit. Nothing wrong with it, just because someone got hurt does not mean it was an illegal hit. If you think this was dirty, please quit watching/attending hockey games, you obviously don't know anything about the game and just embarrass yourselves by throwing out wild accusations.
@ jared73I've seen you guys play before. I saw you guys play and number 63 is a shit talker too. Barch is a POS and a waste of a hockey player.. If your guy went down like Prucha did and were as close as i was ( i was three rows away when he went down) you would say the same freaking thing that it was a dirty hit if you saw what i did. IT WAS DIRTY..
Prucha should learn how to protect himself rather than letting himself get thrown into those stupid glass connectors that injure players all the time. And every good NHL has a "PoS" player like Barch on their team. Last time I checked they're called ENFORCERS.
When did the fans of hockey become such pussies?!?! The '99 teams would have spent their entire season in the penalty box for hits WAY WORSE than this. But like Dono1222 said: "And the Stars won 3-0... "
I think that this hit was anything but clean. It was dangerous and very uncalled for. Dallas is a classless team. They have dirty players, and players who talk shit to fans. After Paul Bissonnette beat the shit out of Chris Bearch #13 came to the penalty box and talked shit to the fans. He has a temper so im glad paul beat the shit out of him, and im even more glad that Hanzal beat the crap out of Neal.
Watch a Stars game before you say they're all dirty players. Also learn to spell a player's name before posting stuff about them. All it requires is a simple google search.
Like HELL it wasnt a clean hit. Look at the rules, James Neal was finishing a check and Prucha should have been paying attention, hits like that happen all the time.
Second, Bissonnette is a GARBAGE fighter. He got his ass whooped BOTH times he went against Barch...Last I saw, Bissonnette almost ended up on the bench because Barch almost placed him there.
Before you come out talking shit get your facts straight. Learn the game, this isnt amateur/college. This is the real deal.
Actually its Krys Barch, and Bissonette did not beat him, with Barch getting five straight shots during. And Hanzal didnt do crap against Neal, and the Stars won
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Elbows to the head do not warrant a clean hit, Ban this piece of shit. and no im not a fan of the yotes. Hockey does not need cheap playes like this faggot.
2. James Neal has more talent and goals than any Coyote, he isnt a dirty player, he just has more talent
3. What about Sami Lepisto's blatant headshot to Loui Eriksson in the third. Is the only difference that Loui only cut his nose??? No, but i dont hear any dorkapotomus Coyote fans talking about that. I guess since its revenge on a totally different player (who also has more points than any Coyote BTW) that makes it cool right...
First the Coyotes are 4th in the west, when the Stars are 9th. So your #2 statement is false. His talent is being a cheap ass faggot goon, he belongs in the WWE not the NHL.
Second, the hit was dirty has your asshole. That was obvious a dirty hit. Elbows to the head is not a clean hit.
The NHL needs to fine suspend Neal. I guess his 2 game suspension wasn't a lesson learned.
What does the Coyotes fluke success have anything to do with Neal's talent?? I said that Neal had more goals than any Coyote? nothing to do with standings. And has Phoenix even been to the playoffs since moving from Winnipeg? so i think you are the dumb one for stating that when it was totally irrelevant
Coyotes fluke success? Your just pissed that your Stars aren't even in playoff position right now when the Coyotes are pretty much in it for sure. Sure Neal as more goals than any Coyote, but he's still a dirty player, they still aren't better than the Coyotes, look at the standings, 4th in the conference vs. 9th in the conference. Oh and the Coyotes have been in the playoff's 5 times since Winnipeg, you might want to check your facts buddy
sorry, they are so irrelevant that i dont even know. And yes considering you havent had a winning season since 2001-2002. this is a fluke. We have a Cup, you have a stdium with a retarded name
Your Star's championship is a fluke, they just got lucky the ref's waved off Buffalo's goal, even though that goal was clean. That come back really sucks by the way, you spelled stadium wrong. Its actually called a arena to. You really are dumb or your a little 13 year kid who thinks the Stars are the shit. Once the Coyotes lost Roenick and Tkachuk and other good players, they had to rebuild and that's what they did, now they have a good team that is having a great season, not a fluke.
Very dirty hit, but did u see the Cam Janssen hit last night? That was possibly the dirtiest hit of the year. Either way, neither players should be playing for a few games.
Some hits like this that are considered dirty is because the player is in a vulnerable position. I think this is just an unfortunate end, but a clean hit.
kid shouldnt have stared at the puck. super clean hit by neal. this is hockey not basketball. btw who does bissonnette think he is? hes showboating and gets his ass and team beat. wtf?
This clearly was not an illegal play. The NHLPA needs to grow a pair and threaten to strike unless barns like these remove the seamless glass. The evidence is absolutely overwhelming. What good is a union if it can't protect the safety of its players?
Agreed. There is only so much that should be done for the fans. Sure, it's a great idea so one can see the play, but it's certainly not comfortable. I've played on rinks with this type of glass, and it really is, as the announcer said, like concrete.
They Coyotes player got hurt because of the glass, not the hit. Even if Neal lead with his Elbow (and the angle of the shot isn't very good in replays) he didn't use the elbow to the head. Not the cleanest hit in the world, but I can't say it really deserved a penalty.
Unfortuante result, but it was a clean hit. Neal timed it perfectly, and it's obvious from the replay that he wasn't trying to injure him. Best wishes to Prucha on a fast recovery.
I´m disgusted by Marc Crawfords comments after the game. I guess this is what to expect from the coach that ordered the Bertuzzi hit, and was laughing afterwards. That kind of behavior does not belong in the NHL. Suspend him from coaching or send his ass to the minors.
Disagree. Legal hit. Hometown announcers said it well: "bad thing sometimes happen on good hockey plays" or something to that effect. Razor drom Dallas broadcast says it well too....he went through the list of things that might indicate an illegal hit and this hit didn't fit any of those either. It is just an unfortunate result of an ordinary hockey play. Hope Prucha is ok.
That was a hit to the head, don't cheer that shit. Imagine if someone did that to Richards, you'd be livid. It's clearly a hit to the head. While it may not be clear if it's an elbow or not, it's still a stupid and dangerous play.

completely clean hit. maybe if Prucha wasn't admiring his dump in then he wouldn't have gotten hurt but this in no way was a dirty hit. The only that there's even a discussion about his is because Prucha's head hit the boards and he was concussed. If he didn't get hurt then no one would've had a problem with it. This is what bugs me. The second anyone gets hurt it's automatically either a cheapshot or a dirty play! Bottom line: clean hit; Prucha shouldn't admire his dump in
Fohill17 2 years ago
Watch the other video of this hit that is on youtube. Neal's elbow was down at his side when he hit Prucha. It was all shoulder. Clean hit, unfortunate result.
nhallabough 2 years ago
Neal lead with his elbow, and he isn't exactly a clean player. He got suspended earlier this year for hitting Derek Dorsett of the Columbus Blue Jackets from behind. I think hes got another one headed his way.
mozely33 2 years ago
I am a Ranger fan, thus I got to watch Prucha begin his career. He was always a fan favorite because of his effort. However he ALWAYS left his guard down and once a week would get railroaded. He had a habit of keeping his head down, and sometimes watching shots and passes. Many times I could not beleive he got up. The hit was clean, if anything a tad late, but not really dirty.
pbrncheez 2 years ago
freak accident, Neal isn't that type of player
bluejays24 2 years ago
I was actually AT this game, 7 rows back and a little to the right of where Prucha was hit. There was NOTHING clean about that hit! Neal is only 2 inches taller than Prucha; that's not enough to justify the elbow to his head, even with Prucha's head being down. Neal wasn't just finishing his check after Prucha dumped the puck.
That POS should have gotten a game misconduct and a suspension.
ba2shay 2 years ago
If you knew anything you would know that Phoenix is on the verge of being sold to someone who is gonna keep them in Phoenix. Gahh. Stop talking shit about Prucha. Neal hit him when the puck was long gone. That's shady right now
brittweb1 2 years ago
If you knew anything, you would understand this is a clean hit.

@brittweb1 you've obviously never played competitive hockey if you think the puck was long gone.

CHEAP SHOT but doesn't surprise me it was from that pussy NEIL! He is a headhunter who'll get his someday!
Essie77 2 years ago
First off its NEAL. Second this happens in hockey all the time; it was a clean hit but prucha went into the boards weird. The only penelty that could have been called is boarding.
Prucha is known for taking big hits. He doesn't protect his body the way most players do. After getting rid of the puck, he admired his dump instead of bracing for a hit. Neal kept his elbow down on the play but he's 6' 3" and prucha was bent over. He never raised his elbow.
hcky03dmha 2 years ago
This comment is probably the best explanation of the hit. James Neal is a tall player and, just like other tall players like Pronger and Chara, his hits look like elbows when its just a difference in height making the hit look bad.
Jared73 2 years ago

Twigs1317 2 years ago
@ jared73I've seen you guys play before. I saw you guys play and number 63 is a shit talker too. Barch is a POS and a waste of a hockey player.. If your guy went down like Prucha did and were as close as i was ( i was three rows away when he went down) you would say the same freaking thing that it was a dirty hit if you saw what i did. IT WAS DIRTY..
brittweb1 2 years ago
Prucha should learn how to protect himself rather than letting himself get thrown into those stupid glass connectors that injure players all the time. And every good NHL has a "PoS" player like Barch on their team. Last time I checked they're called ENFORCERS.

When did the fans of hockey become such pussies?!?! The '99 teams would have spent their entire season in the penalty box for hits WAY WORSE than this. But like Dono1222 said: "And the Stars won 3-0... "
jasjacks77 2 years ago
I think that this hit was anything but clean. It was dangerous and very uncalled for. Dallas is a classless team. They have dirty players, and players who talk shit to fans. After Paul Bissonnette beat the shit out of Chris Bearch #13 came to the penalty box and talked shit to the fans. He has a temper so im glad paul beat the shit out of him, and im even more glad that Hanzal beat the crap out of Neal.
brittweb1 2 years ago
Watch a Stars game before you say they're all dirty players. Also learn to spell a player's name before posting stuff about them. All it requires is a simple google search.

No... no dallas player deserves any credit. and nor does there deserve to be a team in fucking texas.

DeathQuiet123 2 years ago
I forgot, the Coyotes arent going to last long ON the ice because they cause enough drama OFF the ice.
DeathQuiet123 2 years ago
Actually its Krys Barch, and Bissonette did not beat him, with Barch getting five straight shots during. And Hanzal didnt do crap against Neal, and the Stars won

I wish him well. He was a good Ranger who didn't seem to get a chance. Best wishes.

Elbows to the head do not warrant a clean hit, Ban this piece of shit. and no im not a fan of the yotes. Hockey does not need cheap playes like this faggot.
bludgeon213 2 years ago
1. Not a dirty or late hit

Are you fucking dumb?
First the Coyotes are 4th in the west, when the Stars are 9th. So your #2 statement is false. His talent is being a cheap ass faggot goon, he belongs in the WWE not the NHL.
Second, the hit was dirty has your asshole. That was obvious a dirty hit. Elbows to the head is not a clean hit.
The NHL needs to fine suspend Neal. I guess his 2 game suspension wasn't a lesson learned.
ShelbyGrimnes 2 years ago
What does the Coyotes fluke success have anything to do with Neal's talent?? I said that Neal had more goals than any Coyote? nothing to do with standings. And has Phoenix even been to the playoffs since moving from Winnipeg? so i think you are the dumb one for stating that when it was totally irrelevant
dono1222 2 years ago
Coyotes fluke success? Your just pissed that your Stars aren't even in playoff position right now when the Coyotes are pretty much in it for sure. Sure Neal as more goals than any Coyote, but he's still a dirty player, they still aren't better than the Coyotes, look at the standings, 4th in the conference vs. 9th in the conference. Oh and the Coyotes have been in the playoff's 5 times since Winnipeg, you might want to check your facts buddy
ShelbyGrimnes 2 years ago
sorry, they are so irrelevant that i dont even know. And yes considering you havent had a winning season since 2001-2002. this is a fluke. We have a Cup, you have a stdium with a retarded name
dono1222 2 years ago
Your Star's championship is a fluke, they just got lucky the ref's waved off Buffalo's goal, even though that goal was clean. That come back really sucks by the way, you spelled stadium wrong. Its actually called a arena to. You really are dumb or your a little 13 year kid who thinks the Stars are the shit. Once the Coyotes lost Roenick and Tkachuk and other good players, they had to rebuild and that's what they did, now they have a good team that is having a great season, not a fluke.

Neal used his shoulder. .... Upside Prucha's head. Silly Dallas fans are just gonna be homers and blame it on anything but the the Stars. lolz.
joelvinson 2 years ago
Some hits like this that are considered dirty is because the player is in a vulnerable position. I think this is just an unfortunate end, but a clean hit.
fjorten 2 years ago
kid shouldnt have stared at the puck. super clean hit by neal. this is hockey not basketball. btw who does bissonnette think he is? hes showboating and gets his ass and team beat. wtf?
nickg239 2 years ago
This clearly was not an illegal play. The NHLPA needs to grow a pair and threaten to strike unless barns like these remove the seamless glass. The evidence is absolutely overwhelming. What good is a union if it can't protect the safety of its players?
jjb1310 2 years ago

Suspend him from coaching or send his ass to the minors.

clean hit, just bad result. Neal is just tryin to dish a bit more punishment throwing him into the boards after but the elbow stayed down.

Disagree.
