LOL, I love how in the beggining of the song (Early, the last era Carthage managed to survive) it portrays them as the barbarians we all know, but when it starts to go modern, the music starts to sound like they would have developed a strong culture if they managed to survive till today.
Prats start out with combat 1 and city raider 1 from double speed barracks, and the first time they win a battle they get raider 2 which gives them a strenght of 8*0.55=12.4 when attacking a city, I have built praetorians that could defeat opponents al the way up to riflemen they are the most overpowered unit in the game.
Lol I know, Boudica wasn't nearly as great an enemy as Hannibal though she was more of a pain in the ass to Rome, there was one battle in which Hanibal killed over 70,000 Roman soldiers in a single day approximantily killing 10 romans for every soldier he lost, he was a strategical genius and Rome's worst enemy.
@Noahthebeast09 True. Hannibal is one of the top 5 generals of all times. His name is used by Roman mothers to scare their children into behaving for centuries after he was dead. But Boudica arguably remained more of an icon - her people eventually succeeded in their struggle against Roman domination and walked a path of greatness, unlike Hannibal's people.
I'd say more of a tactical genius than a strategical genius. He was definitely good at both but he wasn't able to -really- wreck Rome when it counted. 'Course you could say that was because the Carthaginian senate failed horribly.
For builder civs, Winston Churchill of Mali and Darius of Inca. (Well, the Financial/Organized one. Also, any charismatic leader+privateer spam is absolute murder.
Hammurabi of Sumeria=1/3 price courthouses available at priesthood, and combat 1 raider 1 and 25% vs melee units they would be better at attacking cities than swordsmen.
Or Rosevelt of Holy Rome, Rosevelt is organized -50% upkeep/industrious so he could build the oracle quickly and grab Code of Laws to get a rauthaus -75% upkeep so he would only have like 1/8th upkeep he would be able to expand like a wildfire without much penalty.
getting a bunch of elephants ove rthe alps and wreaking havoc in the roman empire, and then running off and commiting suicide is somehow unbelievably awesome.
you know why french toast is thicker than the other breads, its so that they dont surrender easy. (troll): well tht theory falls flat with french fries...
I like this better than the Roman theme. Victory March!
One of the reasons Rome attacked Carthage is that (they claimed) the Carthaginians sacrificed babies. I wonder if they ate them later with fava beans.
Disregarding the fact that most of them died on the way to Rome, Hannibal is in fact a master strategist.
The Battle of Cannae resulted in one of the most decisive defeats in Roman history, despite the fact that Hannibal was heavily outnumbered and very far from home..
Hannibal Barca, father was founder of Barcelona, really troubled Rome with coming over the Alps, the rest of his live he spent fleeing for the Romans and his archenemy Scipio Africanus. He killed himself near Byzantium by taking poisoned wine, he never surrendered and he liked to keep it that way, so he accomplished the deed himself

Hannibal leading the Romans = Invincible
Charismatic + Praetorian for military,
Financial + Forum for economy.

Boudica of Rome is better
Charismatic for Praetorians
Aggresive for praetorians.

@Noahthebeast09 Yes, it's ironic how the best leaders for Rome are historically the greatest enemies of Rome.

My problem with this music is it sounds awesome with the war drums in the beginning, but then they butcher it when they add in the high instruments

Whats ironic is that when I play Civ4 I am usually Rome and usually I am Carthage's ally, and once made a permanent alliance with Hannibal.
MastaChief7577 2 years ago
I know what that's like. I'm usually Persia and end up chums with Greece. :P

no, Rome pwned Carthage in the first and third Punic War, the only reason Hannibal won the second one is because he had an army of elephants.

he might not be as good as he is portrayed the guy who wrote the most detailed info on him was hired by the Scipio family (who defeated hannibal)
so hannibal might not have been as good as we think since it could just to make the Scipios look good
