  • Listen to some Cachao you philistines!

  • Tito!! Watch the pinkies man!! lol

  • He speaks english too?! What a boss!! :D

  • @blackpker124 he was born in America, weird that he speaks the two most common languages here? not really.

  • hahahaa, he has a really funny faces xD

  • the fact he was still playing the timbales like a little baby even when he was that old blows my mind away. he loved what he did so much till the very end

  • ignorantes check out more tito videos y despues opinen he is a legend and a latin music icon and father of salsa . latin jazz!!!!...

  • Wow! So, if I try really hard to make faces, get my head really close to the drum, stick out my tongue, and play like a complete amateur I can become famous too!!!

  • @Drumric305 We all sprang from apes, but you didn't spring far enough.

  • @yarlovely That's all he's doing really. I mean he's not that good.

  • @Drumric305 Hes a legend and obviously not because of sticking his toung out. Of course your not gonna get chance to see full extent of his skills on a poorly recorded 2:00 minute video. Oh and by the way allot of timbale and other instrument players make gestures with their face/mouth.

  • @Drumric305 no you will not become famous like him ,,,,but try sucking cock that may help you ignorant!!!! learn about music first and then make a comment .... retardao!!!

  • @Drumric305 Watch this video until the end, and if you think that he is an amateur, then I want to see you play Timbales. youtube dot com/watch?v=qbzAb6llIJ0&feature=related

  • @gleventhal Oh god, honestly, with 3 days of practice even I can play that. Seriously, check out people like Changuito, Ramon Banda, Yuvisney Aguilar, and Alex Acuna. Any one one of those people could take the title of King away from him. Why haven't they? Because people are blinded by Tito. I'd love to play something for you but unfortunately I don't have Timbales.

  • @Drumric305 Tito was in on the innovation of and popularization of latin music. If you were alive and on the scene back in the day, would you have had the vision that he had to create something from nothing. He was a dancer and that is why he brought the drums out in front of the band. He moved while he was playing to lead the music and the audience, to keep the music going and take it to new places. Sure there are new, young, up-and-commers that have great technical skills, but he blazed trail.

  • i love the growl of timbales...

  • GOTTA LOVE TITO!

  • que manera de disfrutar su música compadre!!! Magnífico!!

  • Tito drinks TEA!

  • @pedroyambi Please don't say "Retard".

  • @pedroyambi wow! were you born yesterday by any chance? it's ok, one day you'll be as smart as a 2nd grader.

  • R.I.P for ever Thumbs up ...

  • The best at his craft still today the king afters his passing in may of 2000 the best ever in timbales and Latin jazz & mambo and salsa hand down.

  • He looks like a 7 year old with bad technique whens he's playing.

  • @ACESHIGH1020304 I wish my technique was as bad as his!!

  • el mejorr arriba la patriaa

  • who needs tenors?

  • Que desastre,,....!!

  • By far the greatest musician. Influenced more people than any other. Loved him on the Cosby Show in the 80's.

  • His face when he's playing reminds me of Michael Jordan.

  • he is happy :D !!!!

  • un amigo tiene los lp

  • el Subrey del timbal, changuito el rey !

  • @cafepiedra changuito who ? please changuito is very limited skills .Tito can play the timbales in any style of music ; from rock to reggae ! changuito can barely play cuban rythms .Thats why Tito is the best !

  • @chapinrey JEJEJE. No....Tito is a master and my respects to him. He is up there, but I'm sorry Changuito is the undisputed king of la Paila. But this video is about Tito Puentes again my respect goes to him.

  • @Sailor473 Thats the problem with you people. You say this guy , that guy is the best ; but why ? just because you feel like it ? whats the reason you feel that way ? I clearly state why Tito is the best.Tito can play any rythm in the world in an exquisite way.Changuito plays cuban rythems .Because of that and his endless albums he recorded Tito is in a whole other level. What Tito did for our music will never be matched .Tito played so many instruments ; changuito only wishes he can play.

  • @chapinrey Oye, not me. Academics in Cuban music say that Changuito is simply better than Tito. Cuba, not PR or NY is the indisputable mecca of Latin percussion. Read a little and learn.

  • @Sailor473 The cubans say the cubans are the best ; the puerto ricans say they are the best .Newyoricans say they are the best .Let the people decice and in latinamerica and the world decice Tito is the best. What the cubans say , or think is irrelevant ! am from Panama , and been in all salsero countries.Cuba is irrelevant since a very long time ago. There is no big orquestra in Cuba right now .Tell me of an orquestra like el Gran Combo, Apollo Sound , Ruben Blades , Richie Ray n Bobby Cruz .

  • look at 1:32 seconds:D

  • pro oks

  • puya q

    Arriba Tito Puente!!!!!

  • man i wish i couldve seen him live:(

  • THE KING!!

  • I have never seen anyone have as much fun playing a percussion instrument as Tito Puente did. The look on his face every time he played was like a child with a new toy....so inspiring.

  • @chopman83 Maybe Gene Krupa?

  • @chopman83 Gene Krupa had the same look, most definitely.

  • My daddy, David Castro! Played bass for him<3

  • @XjrockxfreakX FELICIDADES Y SIGUE LOS PASOS DE TU PADRE AMIGO LOS MUSICOS BUENOS SE NOS ESTAN YENDO Y SOLO NOS ESTAMOS QUEDANDO CON LO PEOR

  • @vladimir87tu I sing and TRYING to learn guitar :) I love my Spanish roots!

  • he is so cute !! lol

  • Quieren Mas o les guisa un huevo? Tito Puente Num 1.........

  • in the barrio here y aya even others nations universos, planets, the king of the kings

    the big tito puente dude

  • king of timbals!!!

  • @juanbuche Tito was the greatest timbal player in latin music history.

  • this man is a musical legend

  • damn that was pretty cool

  • Certainly a legend, take a look at his friend playing a solo for the Jose Curbello band on the best of Vangardia, His name was Jimmy Lavaca. THis solo is incredible. They both rocked the Paladium in the 40's and 50's

  • This is not the least bit impressive... I highly doubt that it was playing like this that made him popular.

  • @tferrarimusic dude, you need to do a search for " tito puente bronx" and play that clip. If your not impressed with his performance there I dont know what else to say,,,

  • @greekpapi I watched a few other videos. Extemely impressive. This particular video is terrible though. His other vids are ridiculously insane....

  • @tferrarimusic ......hey, old age is rough on everyone I guess....lol...glad you liked!!

Gracias tito

  • there the best timbales because he made them the best. Luv LP but they be no one with out tito

  • @Cvccccfh Carefull. You probably cant.

  • Comment removed

  • maybe you can, but at least he didn't have head up his culo

  • wishi I could play timbales

  • I learned about him in music class today! :o

  • this guy is one cool cat

  • he spitroached max roach there

  • I agree those who comment on this man in a negative fashion have no background knowledge on him whatsoever but are spewing nonsense without knowledge.

  • I suggest people who don't know, go an do some research and discover what this man CONTRIBUTED American, Latin and world MUSIC (and not just drums/timbales), way back since the 1940s. He worked HARD and building a repution like that has been EARNED! The glorification is done by others, not himself.

  • what's up with the right side?!

Tito Puentes on left only is just wrong!

  • this was just a year B4 he died -_-

  • Hey guys and gals, have fun, learn to play then develop your own style. fame "over rated" only said by those who are not famous.

  • Number 1

  • Long live Tito!

  • I don't care what people is saying about titos technique , he is history and nobody can change that , he is one of the most well known latino musician in the world , there is a bunch of young timbale player that are good , but they will never be famous as el maestro tito puente all over the world and that is history a legend get it.

  • fame is overrated...

  • tito is wonderfull he was play with marc anthony and celia cruz

  • A mi sinceramente Tito gutierrez me pela la piroca!

  • ronnie gutierrez me chupa el escroto cabron......

  • SHIT

  • I love how he is all serious during the interview, and then he starts to play, and.... :DD

  • I don't know what is that you don't like about my comment ...all I said is that I didn't see any musicality on that video....we all know how great he was...but in that particular video he wasn't that good.....or you can't criticize a performance...?? And I wish I could have a restaurant with some great jazz music.....

    DJIVANRUMBERO'

  • the godfather of timbales and latin jazz . Salsa is unfortunately losing its flare and its because theres no interest in salsa or talent in the new generation and because artist like tito puente dont exist anymore r.i.p g.o.a.t.

  • ''excellent''

  • LP's and Tito Puente...

    A match made in heaven.

  • tito puente R.I.P

  • Hey Martin!

    How you doen?

This is a good example of what a good sport he was, asked to play cold like that, well he was the King!

  • NBot many would understand of feel this type of comple rhythm. I m a drummer and it still baffle the heck out of me. Go Tito!!!!

  • His true power of drumming potential resides within his tongue.

  • unecessary amount of drums

    but stilll the fuking greatest

    :]

  • lol jea thought that too as i saw this..

  • @BL00DsweatGEARS thast the goal!!!!

  • TITO IS THE SHIT.......

  • I couldn't agree with you more!

  • I am the drummer/percussionist, obviously. All of the percussion on all of our music is me. The conga part on "Sueno" is me playing both Conga and Drums. Shaker and Tambourine has been over-dubbed. I wish I had a video to upload. I'll have to work on that for you. Or, if you're ever in Houston TX come check us out. You'll have a formal invite.

  • It's drummers like you, Mr. AlphaFalconX, that annoy most drummers, like me. I just played in a battle of the bands and beat out every drummer that was like that. We all go through the know it all phase.

  • BTW if he even bothered to look further he would've seen in the "Tito Puente on Sesame Street" movie he does cross over both way's.

If you (alphaFalconX) wanna give a comment, make shure you've got it right

  • Looked you up lets see the playing?

  • It annoys me how people only know how to cross over with their dominant hand.

  • Why does it annoy you? Clearly you don't have to be able to cross over with both to be world famous, as we can see. He is well known, you might cross with both, and you are nobody. Amazing

  • I'm quivering in my pants. What a e-bad boy!!

  • Can you cross over with both hands?

  • Yeah.

  • Oh. Well, okay, then.

  • <__<

  • no-SEAS-TELA.....jaja

  • umm that didn't sound very good.

  • What are you, deaf?

  • no i'm not deaf, but his notes were slured, sloppy, and it's hard to make out any rhythem, his early stuff cool, but man.....his flams were off two, kind of sloppy.

  • He's obviously old in this video, but he stills plays some killin' rhythms. Listen again.

  • That was all I was saying.....that there was not music on this one one his last videos (the one at LP's studios....) not musicality what so ever......

I love his talent....but his technique was very poor.....that's all....

And for the Cuban and Miami latinos that you can NEVER talk bad about one of their idols.....eat me....OK?

  • @jimmyledezma i agree with u bro his grip was not really all there... pretty talented tho

  • your fuckin lame.

    Ignorant foo.

    this is REAL Talent.

unlike whateve rthe fuck it is you listen to
