  • 這才對嘛~~!! 把台灣拍得多美! 不像有些爛影片... 把台灣拍得跟什麼一樣.. 然後來羞辱..! 看了就氣人..!

  • This is my favourite skyscraper of ALL TIME and I know that I referenced Burj Dubai in some of my comments but that is mainly because it is the TALLEST skyscraper so far but it is my 2nd favourite skyscraper not my 1st.

  • Taiwan is japan.

  • @MrRadioactivepower no it was part of china but now it is all alone country.

  • @jake42731 korea and taiwan and manchuria is japan.

  • @MrRadioactivepower what do you mean????

  • @jake42731 Japan would be the king of asia if the super smelly pigs, people call AMERICA,didnt invad japan...almost japanese is an atheist and im too but....OH MY GOD!!!

  • @MrRadioactivepower Let me understand: in your history book, poor Japan was minding its business, when the Great Satan attacked without cause? In mine, the Emperor went to bed with a couple of bad dudes ( Hitler and Mussolini) wishing he could conquer half of Asia. Maybe americans wouldn't have minded too much, but Pearl Harbor was a really bad move.

  • @MrRadioactivepower Actually Japan is not atheistic. They just keep superstition and life separate. In politics they also keep it separate. Taiwan is the same, many people believe in Christianity, Buddhism, Shinto Buddhism, etc etc.

However when it comes to politics it is not which religious affiliation, it is who is the better choice. When it comes to life, the theists keep to their own practice for most parts.

Secular government with religious freedom basically.

  • It's 509m,not 580m.anyway, looks very impressive.i will be going there to see it later!(:

  • Taiwan is better than China...

    China just bigger than Taiwan...

    But they (China)not friendly...

  • @greenday9799 Yes you are right, recently i was in both China and Taiwan, difference is huge. Taiwanese people are much friendlier..

  • @K1berdemoN Yes!

  • @greenday9799 I wouldn't say Taiwanese are particularly either. Try getting through the MRT system anytime between 4-9pm... terrible

  • This is definitely not a documentary for architects.... ''A building that looks completely unique, but soon proves challenging to build.'' Yeah alright go on with that engineering stuff that you and everybody likes, I'm leaving anyway.

  • burj khalif just got pwned

  • "Taipei 101, the world's tallest skyscraper"......not anymore! Thank you Burj Khalifa in Dubai!

  • is 508M not 580M........

  • And the guys are hot

  • I'll stay in Taipei for 10 days, I'm so excited!!!

  • sears tower (Willis) is actually a bigger skyscraper

  • Awesome building, Korean technology at its best.

    Go Samsung.

  • I want to live on the very very very top floor.

  • The 101 is a symbol of Taiwan that I deeply love.

  • wanna visit taipei 101

  • tawain was a chinese government and it is still is they copy, and speak the chinese language so there is no point in arguing fyi america is not free if it was free why is their laws?

  • @ihavesomerice not free as in you can run around clubbing people if you want to. free like you can go from rags to riches; you can't be a slave; you can (more or less) say what you'd like, etc etc. and taiwan is not really chinese, esp just cuz they speak chinese... pretty stupid rationale.

  • @ihavesomerice

Ok, well you're wrong here. Taiwan is not a Chinese government, nor is it a government. Taiwan is the country, the state of its own, and is also the island. The ROC or KMT is the government of Taiwan. There is no such language as Chinese, there is Mandarin which is spoken in different dialects from China and Taiwan. America is a free country as it gained independence in the battle against the british. There are laws because those are the guidelines in maintaining a country. GG.

  • @SpA3tan The Taiwanese seem like an angry people. Whenever I see them, they always tell me about their independence, as though shoving it down everyone's throats will make the world take notice of them. Listen, in most places, few people know, and even fewer care, about the argument between Taiwan and China. This is like me saying that Maui is independent from the Australia; its government separated long ago and I'm proud. But you don't care because you don't know what the hell I'm talking about

  • @gobipill

We're actually a very friendly nation. It is the ignorant that cause us to be react as so. To be honest, I am second generation Taiwanese as my parents are the ones from Taiwan. Being born in a white country it is still important to learn of the history of all countries, whether your own or just somewhere in the world. It is these facts that need to be learned so there are less ignorance and less stupid comments, on the web or in daily lives. Thats my two cents.

  • @gobipill What you said is true. Yes, many TW-nese feel very strongly about this issue and failed to understand that in the Western World, few day-to-day folks really gives a fuck about it. This brings one interesting point. If most of the Westerners don't give it a fuck about China v.s. Taiwan, then why do they care so much, and feel so strongly about Dalai Lama v.s. China ???? Just because he's got this celebrity image - carefully crafted by US media and TV - *Sigh*. The Herd Mentality.

  • Just face the facts and get them straight people, Chinese people are just being brain washed and can't face the fact that Taiwan has the capability of making so many amazing things. China oppresses their people from knowing what's true freedom like. Simply look at the Google incident, who would like to be a superman but not allowed to fly? Poor bastards even think that Taiwan belongs to them, what a pity.

  • @manchewl Agreed. Just face the facts and get them straight people, Taiwan isn't even an official recognized state. Taiwan is a gorgeous island, an island that's part of the People's Republic of China.

  • @FarewelI

Actually, you are very wrong indeed. The People's Republic of China is the sole legitimate government of mainland China, or just China for short. As for Republic of China, which is the current government of Taiwan, also known as the KMT(kuomintang) Two partys that share no ideals alike. One is a nationalists party, and the other communist. Taiwan is free and allows free speech and voted governments; whereas China has no human rights and a absolute communist government.

  • @FarewelI

The Republic of China declared independence from Mainland China, and gave up all their power in mainland China as of 1991. Which is a long time from 1949 where the ROC left mainland China after being threatened by the PRC. Please learn your history before commenting something like that, many taiwanese people will find your comment offensive and take it to heart.

  • kinda looks like a large dick poping out of no where haha

  • As a Taiwanese,I am really pround of this tiny island - Taiwan

  • @liltiffywang proud?

  • @ytubueuser whether u like it or not they'r not independent legally....do u know fear is a type of submission, over time the people will submit, a good example is america, they took america(the land of the indians) through uncountable bloodsheds but look at america , aren't the indian submit to the stronger force??

  • The World Tallest Building Is Not Taipei 101 It's Burj Dubai!

  • @GameFreak1661 lol thats now . taipei 101 WAS the world's tallest building .

  • @killa60707 That title now belongs to the Khalifa Tower (Burj Khalifa) in Dubai. :)

  • @kerrycheng UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 said so...PRC is the legitimate representative in the UN. Legally speaking taiwan is not an independent state and they had not declared so even up to this day. Taiwan only has the support of the hypocritic state USA and that doesnt not make independence of Taiwan legal in the face of the world.

  • @manchewl

Whether you like it or not, Taiwan is -de facto- an independent nation state.

China has no control over Taiwan's trade, currency, courts, military, or citizens - who carry ROC passports.

The ONLY reason Taiwan is not constitutionally independent is because of the threat of violence from a much larger undemocratic, authoritarian country.

I have lived in China and I have much affection for the country and its people. But the CCP can go fuck themselves.

  • @ytubueuser I cannot agree with you more.

  • can anyone tell me the width of this building at base?

  • @BasketBall0wns It is approximately 210 feet, on edge, at the 1st floor.

  • @milkybarkidd Thank you. i could not find it anywhere else.

  • Taipei 101 would've taller if it weren't for them meddling earthquakes.

  • I love Taiwan

  • STEPHEN CARL MURPHY CO.

  • what if a plane hits that building

  • @khunopie yea...taiwan is part of CHINA to begin with

  • @manchewl who is it part of china if people don't even use rmb in taiwan? lol

are you saying mexico is part of spain? or usa is part of england?

  • I'm going end this year!! Can't wait :)

  • i love taiwan

  • yeh,cool >.<

  • Building high skyscrapers is very unprofitable, it just says, I got money to spend, my economy is booming.

  • @zx1986 fuck you

  • @dannyyuwu ;ok..... wth??? ==''

  • @dannyyuwu fuck you too

  • burj dubai is 300 meters more taller

  • @spongekid98 it's called Burj Khalifa..

  • hehe,not anymore the tallest :) :) :)

  • I've been there, after my mom was done shopping at the building next to it, we were going to go in taipei 101 but they said that they were having electrical problems so dammit, never got around to it while it was the tallest

  • @adrianlindsaylohan hehe, well u can go to dubai next time u get chance :) burj dubai are not just tall but realy beautiful

  • i find that taipei101 also built by samsung (south korea)

    ,now compelete Burj Dubai

  • @zenyoxi

    你真是個悲哀的人

  • 7:16 it's so hot

    funny taiwan president

  • 7:16

    被燙到了...........

  • 不好看

  • 7:16 lol

  • welcome to taiwan!!!!!!

  • @gokumania

The taipei101s floors are much bigger

  • Taiwan rocks!!!!!

  • I stood at the top of this building last week... ah, good times!

  • this got overtaken by the burj khlifa

  • This building is called the tallest in the World with 101 floors ? Empire State have 102, Sears Tower have 110, they should be taller than him.

  • @gokumania the point is Taipei have the frequency of earthquakes!!!!

  • @aurelieunique: no worry.. at the 91th floor there's this huge iron ball. it will keep the structure straight. Whenever there's earthquake, the ball will swing left to right but the building will be as straight as concrete ^^

  • The Taiwanese version of the Space Needle.

  • TAIPEI IS FAVORITE AREA

  • taiwan...

  • this building is like a huge middel finger aiming at communist china.

  • @skydreamerXIII Is the Shanghai World Financial Center then a huge middle finger aiming at Taiwan?

  • Taipei 101 has a full Chinese symbolisms

  • barley anyone in the entire world know where the heck this place is

    or what taipei 101 is.

they know buji khalifa and all about it but NOBODY I KNOW (when i was in america) what the tallest building was in 2004

    =(

now i live in XinShih,Taiwan AND IT ROCKS!!!

loves how the trash cars act like icecream vendors XD

i promise to make a vid

  • i also visited this placeXD

    LOVED THE LAMBORGHINI EXPO XD

  • YAYUH!

    taiwan rocks

  • the burj dubai is bigger

  • The same person(s) who built Taipei 101 ALSO built Burj

So don't hate on Burj, you're also hating on Taipei 101

  • I'm going to Taipei soon... can I go up this skyscraper??

  • Taipei is the most expensive and the most advanced, complicated and could with stand storms and earthquake.

Burj is taller but not the best in engineering design.

Taipei has a very unique properties... That only this building has........

  • @yazpaul yes u are right

  • Burj Khalifa(Burj Dubai) is huge, however Taipei 101 was harder to build since Taipei is located on 6 seismic belt, plus there is an average of 5 typhoons hit right on Taipei each year. It requires a higher level of architecture to build. IMO Taipei 101 is also a better looking skyscraper, It has that magnificent feeling, but gentle at the same time.

  • the burj was also built on really fine sand.... also a hard chalenge... not 2 mention it goes 300+meters taller then this

  • I would say, Taipei 101 is a very Modern Chinese architecture resemblance. it's very gorgeous. The only roblem is tapiei need more high-rise

  • Comment removed

  • @sgtshendou problem is, there is no more land for that

  • i went in it. The elevator goes REALLY fast

  • Not more the tallest

  • Taipei is a great city

  • @Kyanlovesmomo what makes it a great city?

  • 台北101(taipei 101)約600億台幣(60 billion)NT

    杜拜塔(Burj Dubai)約300億台幣(30 billion)NT

  • technically it is, but it count be counted until it's open

  • 1. Burj Dubai

    2. Taipei 101

    3. Petronas Towers

    4. Willis Tower (Sears Tower)

  • You forgot the CN Tower.

  • CN tower doesn't count as it's not a building...it's basically just a really really tall restaurant

  • CN Tower is included. It doesn't matter if the CN Tower is a building or not, it is still one of the tallest structures in the World.

  • WTC was 526 metres and The Willis tower is 527 m with the antenna, being the second largest in the world. Taipai 101 is 509m with the antenna.

It's an awesome building, great technology behind it. Burj dubai is reaching 818m and the Nekheel tower that is on hold will most likely be 1400m.

    My shed is 2 metres.

  • i wanna go

  • err... but dubai is empty.... it has a population of 300k and migrants of 1.7mill... d tower is not sustainable, once the oil stops.. d tower will be empty

  • Taipei is really great

  • Ryugyong Hotel, Pyongyang, N. Korea is the tallest building in all of korea, for many years it has been a white elephant

the tallest in south korea is the Northeast Asia Trade Tower

  • I live in Taipei

Taipei 101 is a amazing building

    It's inspiring to us

  • this building is so inspiring, i just love that tuned mass damper!

  • TAIPEI a great city

i was next to it when i was in the hotel ( Grand Hyatt Hotel ) across from Taipei 101

  • Pitufo110890 , what he means is that a building of the scale of the Taipei 101 has never been built in a seismically active zone. Plus the fact that in terms of felt tremors, Taipei is far more seismically active than L.A.

  • that isn't remotely helpful

  • I am just coming back from 101, 40 mins back I was on the top(90th floor).

In one word "This is Amazing"

  • i been to the top but sadly they only let u go to floor 88and 89 and 91 for outside sightseeing. they have alot of stuff to sell and the elevator is cool. there is also a mall under tipei 101. 5 floors of mall

  • Well, if it rains, you'll be the first to know.

  • that guy is retarded...!!! there are many high rising buildings that are build in a seismic zone such as Torre Mayor in Mexico, the U.S. Bank in Los Angeles just to name a few!

  • Your view is too small. Travel more.

  • Not the tallest anymore. Burj Dubai got it by 1,000 feet

  • nah Taipei is still the tallest building in the world! you are correct though Burj Dubai is taller but until it has been complete it cant be offically classed as the tallest building in the world

  • Physicaly and technically, The Burj Dubai Finished or Not finish, Is the tallest Building in the world. it dont matter if its complete or not. Not sure why PPl have to argue the point. PPL sure do act like children sometimes.. "MY DAD IS BIGGER THAN YOUR DAD" Grow up kids! geez ~JON

  • yes i know and agree that its the tallest building in the world! what i was saying is that it officially hasnt gained that title yet because The International Architectura Standrads define a bulding as "a structure capable of being fully occupied". so the IAS wont give the Burj Dubai the title of Tallest Building In The World until its fully complete which is estimated later this year. so as it stands now Taipei 101 is still got the title until Buej Bubai is complete.

  • I guess if PPL wants to get technical. its Just a Building. i find it a Joke that they want to argue the definition even tho its still taller than any other building while still being contrusted. Its nonsence to me. I understand what ur saying but in reality, If you can touch it and see it, its a building thats taller than any other structure, no mater how u look at it, Finished or Unfinished. But i understand ur point but to me, That definition should be thrown out. Just my oppinion LOL ~JON

  • yup i suppose you are correct

  • NICE! 101 floors!

  • there is somebody in the clip saying that building a skyscraper in a seismic zone has never been done before taipei 101... refer to Torre Mayor to see that this is untrue. Nevertheless Taipei 101 is amazing!

  • He was referring to supertall skyscrapers (ones over 300 meters tall), but he is still off, though. The US Bank Tower in Los Angeles, California is a supertall that is built to withstand earthquakes, too.

  • What is this drum and bass track?

  • Nice... very nice.. i want to go there someday..

  • i was never there but i already love that building!

    Greetings from Russia

  • OMFG GUYS IVE BEEN THERE Taipei 101 is not just a Skyscraper its also a Mall Downstairs theres a mall And its great. :P

  • lol wow do you really hear him saying 580 meters? damn... then you gotta visit an Otologist or maybe its ur English problem.

  • Yes, maybe you are right. For you clearly are far better at English than i am.

    "maybe its ur English problem"

    Great English there buddy!

  • i love the name, 101 looks like lol on the enterence :P

  • HAHAHAHA xD didnt notice

  • taiwan is cooool

  • I love this BUILdING sO MUch..

  • coooool

  • so what about urself ? can u do it better ?
