this game is more like the total war series then warcraft games. you dont build or make units during the fight but after the fight you go to your town upgrade get new units armour ect. accept you cant make cities and stuff liek in total war its kind of pre set out missions.

I'd just like to add (cos it looks as though I'm slating the vid, which is pretty good EDrVu, that some features are simply brilliant. The items and customisation, come on how many rts games have that? That's an excellent point, but the game simply falls short on overall play as far as I see. I also like the damage style and hp style (authentic tabletop style)

tbh this game falls short. It's like it stopped after it left the starting blocks and said "sod this, why should I run 200 metres?"

Crappy battlefields, CRAPPY load times, very crap graphics considering all the power it soaks up and again, load times.

There is very little strategy when it comes to using cover etc etc, or so I find. I think someone should mod 40k to warhammer fantasy, add a few features and you'll have a BRILLIANT version of this game

Err conventional warfare is not about using cover. You have to stab people with swords. Try doing that from "cover". Conventional warfare is movment en mass, circling and dividing, cutting off groups and flanking. To much coh and dow for you.

Archers cannot stand alone to often and they cant very well use cover. British at Agincourt or in the swamps which defeated the highlanders charge (these are examples of archers in cover) but old school battles are closing the distance and fighting in open plains which suits covential warfare better than fixed positions and cover.

Um. No they don't...the 40k universe and the Warhammer Fantasy universe are completely separate. In 40k, the Eldar are a completely different civilization than the elves.

Well elves and eldar are genetically the same, they just exist in different fiction based realms. The Eldar are not the future Elves from warhammer fantasy, they are just the same race in a different setting. Just like the Orcs and Goblins from Warhammer fantasy are not the Space Orcs from Warhammer 40,000.

While I dont like WoWs childish graphics, I must admit that the game is somewhat fun playing, even though I quit and am now awaiting WAR(which is "just a WoW copy" in your own words), it looks so much better then WoW imo, both in graphic and gameplay.

The lotr games based on the cnc generals engine (cant remember the name but its like dawn of war) is really fun, but most other games arnt. And yeah, they only got like 4 books of lore, that is by far not enough for a mmo like LOTRO at least.

WRONG !! Blizzard approached Games Workshop with the concept for a RTS. GW turned down Blizzard because their character design and changes to lore were not in line with the Warhammer lore and game which Games Workshop guards vehemently. So Blizzard took their work that had no IP license and remolded the game into Warcraft which took a lot of the Warhammer ideas and concepts but were atlered to create a new IP.
