  • 1,000 watts? Isn't that pretty high for a MV lamp?

  • No...Not Really...Mercury Vapor Lamps can go as High as 10,000 Watts...those 10 KW Lamps are used for Science Applications....the highest Wattage used For Commercial Lighting is 2,000 Watts...those are not Manufactured Anymore...1,000 Watt Lamps are still Avalible though...mercs today range from 50-1,000 Watts.

  • for what is worth i just did a search and found metal halide bulbs from 2000 to 18000 watts, the 2000 watt bulbs are used in fixtures you find in major league ball parks

  • @SCHNEIDER0928 yup thats what they use....i bet those are Expensive...and the 18000 Watt Units are probably not going to be found anywhere else but scientific purposes.
