i hate how they skipped the whole funeral part. and how they left out the part about harry inheriting black manor. and they cut out everything with dobby since the second movie. which sucks cause dobby is the best character ever. and they cut out the parts with the gaunts, it skips apparation lessons. and it has dumbledore apparating in the castle which is impossible. and there is really too many things that they cut out that give the story depth and emotionality. wasnt that good imho. 2.5 /5
I liked Half Blood Prince but it wasn't my favourite. It just feels like a movie that they had to make because it was in the series - I don't think the director or the producer worked hard enough to make it as awesome as it could've been. I thought it was visually the best film out of the lot though.
I was very confused by this movie. First of all, it would have helped me if I had read the book (I've fallen drastically behind), but I felt like the film focused too much on the relationships of the main kids. I was always under the impression that we were supposed to be trying to figure out Voldemort's next move and who is the Half Blood Prince in this film. Then again, I haven't read the book yet, so I'm not entirely sure what was the intention.
The scene when Harry first used Sectumsempra on Draco was done really well. At the part when Draco was leaning over the sink and sobbing, I just wanted to jump inside the screen and give him a big hug. Tom is such an amazing actor, his performance in Half-Blood Prince just took my breath away.
my absolute favourite scene was when harry took the felix potion!!! it was SOO funny!!

I definitely thought the ending was rushed they cut out most of the huge battle at the end, i would of liked to see more of the battle and less of the love stories which weren't as pronounced in the book. the movie was a little to up-beat for how dark this book was.

When I saw it for the first time, Tom was the only one I paid attention to. He was awesome, you´re right. And of course Alan was doing his best again. Love his voice. I really hated Lavender, but this shows that Jessie did a great job. When Hermione cried, I had to crie to. When I saw the movie for the second time, I paid more attention to to teenage relationships. I had to laugh so much when Harry caught Slughorn on his way to Hagrid and when Harry went on, Slug was like "HARRY"

The Felix Felicis scene was harry potter on speed what?! And Rupert is such a comic actor, the love potion scene was amazing. After Lavender (who is A LOT more physco then she is in the book, Jessie Cave is a great actress for that!) and Ron are kissing, and Hermione sort of has an emotional break down, i felt so bad! I was like, yeah Hermione! You sick those birds on him! I've seen the movie four times yay for being harry potter OBSESSED!
This one was my favorite out of all of them. I've only seen it once but want to go see it again. My favorite part was after Harry took the liquid luck and was all up-beat and out of character, so funny. I was bothering my family for days tell them to watch out for the pinchers. They didn't see the film however, and thought I was going crazy. Haha. Great review by the way.

The fact that they are making another two movies still doesn't give reason for them to take things out and just jumble information wherever they please. They could still put information on the horcruxes now and be able to pick it back up in the next movie. It actually makes the movies go together a lot better than for things to be completely missing. Characters basically did nothing in this movie but be love struck, and the movie focused way too much on subplot. Besides that it was a good movie
BUT if i must choose the best actor in this one . i would say RUPERT GRINT AND ALAN RICKMAN rupert was always the best actors out of the trio and the others .

I saw it with my boyfriend(he has only seen the movies) opening day he was a bit confused since the didn't explain all that much and I was a bit dissapointed since some of my favorite bits from the book were left out.HOWEVER it was shot beautifully and it has lots of replay value Tom Felton(Draco)was an expecially good in this movie.And I loved teenage Toms mannerisms.I give it a solid 4 out of 5.
I've have seen the movie like 3 times (and loved it more and more), but the one thing i noticed every time was that Snape never says "It's over". i was really looking forward to that because it is a major part of the book... all in all great movie!!!!
They should have shown Bill and Fluer at the house announcing their engagement before the attack on the Burrow, and have Greyback attack Bill. That would give Ron a chance to explain the wedding at the end of the film. Tom Felton was great. He had such conflict. Harry and Ginny's kiss should have been like Ron and Lavender's, but it'll do. Snape killing Dumbeldore was done well. You can see the regret on Snape's face afterwards. Overall, I liked it better than Pheonix. Looking foward for last 2
before i watched your review, i honestly didnt take time to see good in the movie. this changed my view on it, and though i wouldnt give it quite 4.25 stars. its rating for me definately went up.
the scene where harry takes felix felicis is hilarious with the whole "pincer" thing and how he walks out the portrait hole and goes "HELLO xD" to strangers
actually, this one was my least favorite. i think it was a tad choppy, and too many of the important parts of the book was cut. and i think the acting was not as good as it has been

The inferi reminded me of Gollum. I watched the movie and then I read the book and while I was watching the movie I was trying to figure out what those things were. All I could come up with was that Voldemort had gotten a bunch of Gollums, hidden them in water, and trained them to attack wizards.
I didnt like that they left out the whole ending scene in the half blood prince book when they are in the hospital and Bill was attacked by Fenrir, and they talk about him changing into a werewolf and then that whole Remus and Tonks love/fight thing happens. I LOVE that scene and they totally skipped and just made Tonks and Remus love each other, they never talked about their problems being a couple. :/ idk and they left out a lot of the flashbacks from the book. but it was really good still!!!!
HA! I noticed how awkward that scene between Harry&Ginny was, and how his lips were just sticking way out. The Felix Felicis scene was classic. :D And yeah, when the Inferi popped up, you just hear a whole gasp throughout the theater. hee hee. I wish they put in the funeral though. I totally agree with you on the points you made and im so glad you mentioned that the R/H romance wasnt obvious in the book coz although it works in the film it was something that bugged me and no-ones really mentioned it. The fighting over the potion book, the burrow, quidditch, lavender, felix felicis, hermione and peppermint toothpaste ;) her hair frizzing over the couldron was like taking harry potter crack.

I JUST SAW THE MOVIE LAST NIGHT. Okay ,Im pretty sure im loved the..bellatrix and narcissa scene when they go to Snapes. Cause i just lovvvee Death Eaters. Also another AMAZING scene is when , rons in the hospital, and hermionie , snape, dumberldore, and mcgonall are in the room. Then Lavender comes running in... , screaming..RONALD, RONALD. Then Lavender and Hermonie start yelling its SOOO funny.
Jessica, I am sooo glad that a true blue potter did a positive review of this movie! I LOVED IT, but most of the ''hardcore'' fan like to harp on every single thing and that is just obnoxious. There was actually a part that wasn't in the book that I wish was...and that is Slughorn's story about the lily pedal and the fish. That was so beautiful; it was a single tear moment.
Also Cormac was sexy, whenever he was licking his lips at the dinner table *flustered*! Blaise was hot too imo.
Little things: did you notice the black and white postcard in the orphanage ...yes!
Really good point about the Horcruxes! If they had listed them in this film people who only see the films would just forget what they had heard - it would mean nothing to them. Now in DH we will get to see how the trio figure out what the remaining three are.

Yes, people need to watch this again more than once. I feel like the people hating on this movie just saw it ONCE, and that one time they wait for scenes that are not going to come. Naturally, they'd be pissed throughout the whole movie.
BUT if you see it again and just LET GO, you'll realize it's a fucking good movie.
Spinners End was awful. Bellatrix had little to no dialouge with Snape and I SO wanted to see them fight (verbally of course) and Narcissa...ugh. She was terrible to me, she was just cold and had little to no emotion. Her hair GAH! it still gets me! I loved the movie as a whole, though. I loved when Harry was on the Felix Felicis.

Two years ago my grandma bought me a Harry Potter wand for Christmas, and the tip lights up. But when i was waiting in line for the midnight showing, the batteries died. So when i saw the scene at the end where everyone raised their wands i was sooo bummed that i couldn't do it!
I got shushed a lot from an old attendant guy cuz I was squeeing over Tom Riddle's voice. Heheheh. But, I mean, how can you NOT squee over his voice?! It's fucking amazing...XP.
Helena was AMAZING. Her, Tom, and Louis were my favorites. Even though there wass less Blaise then I would have liked, (there isn't much in the book either....D8<) he was still awesome. Dammit, Bellatrix was the sex.

It was good, but the things I didn't like :
- Narcissa's hair. Isn't supposed to be blond and long?
- The thing Dumbledore's drinking from in the cave, is supposed to be a glass.
- The Weasley house burning scene. Omg, Bellatrix is so freaky. She scares me!
- Ginny's lack of facial expressions.
- I want a funeral for Dumbledore in the movie. Seriously.

I thought this was the best movie out of all of them so far! Some people didn't like it because it didn't follow the book too much, but they will have to deal with it, because they can't put all that into a 2 hour movie!

When I saw it for the first time, Tom was the only one I paid attention to. He was awesome, you´re right. And of course Alan was doing his best again. Love his voice. I really hated Lavender, but this shows that Jessie did a great job. When Hermione cried, I had to crie to. When I saw the movie for the second time, I paid more attention to to teenage relationships. I had to laugh so much when Harry caught Slughorn on his way to Hagrid and when Harry went on, Slug was like "HARRY"

The Felix Felicis scene was harry potter on speed what?! And Rupert is such a comic actor, the love potion scene was amazing. After Lavender (who is A LOT more physco then she is in the book, Jessie Cave is a great actress for that!) and Ron are kissing, and Hermione sort of has an emotional break down, i felt so bad! I was like, yeah Hermione! You sick those birds on him! I've seen the movie four times yay for being harry potter OBSESSED!

This one was my favorite out of all of them. I've only seen it once but want to go see it again. My favorite part was after Harry took the liquid luck and was all up-beat and out of character, so funny. I was bothering my family for days tell them to watch out for the pinchers. They didn't see the film however, and thought I was going crazy. Haha. Great review by the way.

The fact that they are making another two movies still doesn't give reason for them to take things out and just jumble information wherever they please. They could still put information on the horcruxes now and be able to pick it back up in the next movie. It actually makes the movies go together a lot better than for things to be completely missing. Characters basically did nothing in this movie but be love struck, and the movie focused way too much on subplot. Besides that it was a good movie

I saw it with my boyfriend(he has only seen the movies) opening day he was a bit confused since the didn't explain all that much and I was a bit dissapointed since some of my favorite bits from the book were left out.HOWEVER it was shot beautifully and it has lots of replay value Tom Felton(Draco)was an expecially good in this movie.And I loved teenage Toms mannerisms.I give it a solid 4 out of 5.

They should have shown Bill and Fluer at the house announcing their engagement before the attack on the Burrow, and have Greyback attack Bill. That would give Ron a chance to explain the wedding at the end of the film. Tom Felton was great. He had such conflict. Harry and Ginny's kiss should have been like Ron and Lavender's, but it'll do. Snape killing Dumbeldore was done well. You can see the regret on Snape's face afterwards. Overall, I liked it better than Pheonix. Looking foward for last 2

The inferi reminded me of Gollum. I watched the movie and then I read the book and while I was watching the movie I was trying to figure out what those things were. All I could come up with was that Voldemort had gotten a bunch of Gollums, hidden them in water, and trained them to attack wizards.

I didnt like that they left out the whole ending scene in the half blood prince book when they are in the hospital and Bill was attacked by Fenrir, and they talk about him changing into a werewolf and then that whole Remus and Tonks love/fight thing happens. I LOVE that scene and they totally skipped and just made Tonks and Remus love each other, they never talked about their problems being a couple. :/ idk and they left out a lot of the flashbacks from the book. but it was really good still!!!!

I totally agree with you on the points you made and im so glad you mentioned that the R/H romance wasnt obvious in the book coz although it works in the film it was something that bugged me and no-ones really mentioned it. The fighting over the potion book, the burrow, quidditch, lavender, felix felicis, hermione and peppermint toothpaste ;) her hair frizzing over the couldron was like taking harry potter crack.

I JUST SAW THE MOVIE LAST NIGHT. Okay ,Im pretty sure im loved the..bellatrix and narcissa scene when they go to Snapes. Cause i just lovvvee Death Eaters. Also another AMAZING scene is when , rons in the hospital, and hermionie , snape, dumberldore, and mcgonall are in the room. Then Lavender comes running in... , screaming..RONALD, RONALD. Jessica, I am sooo glad that a true blue potter did a positive review of this movie! I LOVED IT, but most of the ''hardcore'' fan like to harp on every single thing and that is just obnoxious. There was actually a part that wasn't in the book that I wish was...and that is Slughorn's story about the lily pedal and the fish. That was so beautiful; it was a single tear moment.
Also Cormac was sexy, whenever he was licking his lips at the dinner table *flustered*! Blaise was hot too imo.

Really good point about the Horcruxes! If they had listed them in this film people who only see the films would just forget what they had heard - it would mean nothing to them. Now in DH we will get to see how the trio figure out what the remaining three are.

Yes, people need to watch this again more than once. I feel like the people hating on this movie just saw it ONCE, and that one time they wait for scenes that are not going to come. Naturally, they'd be pissed throughout the whole movie.
BUT if you see it again and just LET GO, you'll realize it's a fucking good movie.

Spinners End was awful. Bellatrix had little to no dialouge with Snape and I SO wanted to see them fight (verbally of course) and Narcissa...ugh. She was terrible to me, she was just cold and had little to no emotion. Her hair GAH! it still gets me! I loved the movie as a whole, though. I loved when Harry was on the Felix Felicis.
