  • Very inspiring, yet another good lesson by you!

  • this one is really good!

  • Where can we hear a full version of this?!!

  • @danutd94 itunes :) I'll send you a link

  • Thank you for making the time to ... um ... make these videos. I've learned a lot from you so far. It does sadden me that I bought the same tool poster at a show years ago and gave it away to an ex-girlfriend and have to be tortured by it... :)

  • @cooper9934 oh no! Shame on you good sir.

  • the DT25 is dangerous

  • @halfwaythere333 from what I've heard it sounds like it. Although I'd love to test drive it

  • Do you use the Line 6 Spider IV in this video aswell? I really like the sound you get, and i was considering buying a new amp. Also, Shecter guitars rule!

  • @Endelmos I'm not sure what I used for this video haha. I'm pretty impressed with the line 6 I have (15w spider III). Not bad for a little practice amp. Check out their new DT25 amp

  • May I just say, your posters are bomb ;)

  • @TheWilderMusic haha, thanks!

  • Your lessons are just pure awesomeness! =)

  • @BringerOfBloood Thank you, that means a lot.

  • awesome riffs man. your a great teacher

  • @Rapterr15 Thank you so much!

  • Can you teach how to play like Marc Holcomb? I've tried his style and I really enjoy it but I can't really write many "songs" like him...

  • @MrCrazytater Thank you!

  • Awesome!

  • Dude, I've already thanked you before, but I just have to comment on how awesome and helpful these lessons are. I have one question though, I've been playing guitar for just over a year now, and a lot of my compositions are too jumbled in terms of genre and character. I mean, my influences keep on changing. As in, I'll decide to go Tool-esque one day, and (of all bands) Kasabian the other day. I like too many forms of music. How do I channel my influences without sounding immature ?

  • @panniize Thanks! You've only been playing for about a year so be patient. I know that's hard but your still (and always will be) growing as a player. Not only technique and performance but writing and composing as well. Not everything you write will be a masterpiece and not everything should. Just keep writing, you still developing your voice. Use some composition experiments ie, try to write in the style of or incorporate a certain idea.

  • schecter!

  • the first riff reminds a bit of Time Flies by Porcupine Tree. I like the chords you're using a lot

  • @Latharol That means a lot!

  • @Latharol dude that's exactly what i was thinkin

  • you make really heavy riffs

  • reminds me of Underoath, I like alot... jsut saved to faves...... this helped me alot

  • @XSVmetalband awesome!!

  • People who ask for tabs aren't real musicians. If you are a musician, listen to it and figure it out. Even if you can't do that pause...look at his fuckin' fingers!!

  • @AquaClerk Don't be so hard on people :) Everything is transcribed you can read the music and see the rhythm notation. Your not going to get a work as a musician if you can't read...

  • can some one tab the chords hes is playing at 0:57

  • @vannimal2 The lesson tab is available for download on my website :)

  • @axeofcreation I love your lessons !:D

how long have you been playing ?

  • @ray625164 Thank you so much. About 15 yrs

  • i would have liked to hear all the riffs in succession at the end. just to get a better understanding of the entire flow. great ideas and explanation though.

  • @metalbass211 Thank you. I'll keep that in mind for future lessons. Feel free to check out the song, it's called Type 12. You can check out the entire album if your so inclined :) stemny.com under the music tab.

  • @axeofcreation cool... i'll do that. keep the lessons comin man. i watched them all today and found a lot of them useful. check out my channel and playing vids if you can.

  • Great video dude! Been through every video of yours and must say, they're all great and are helping me quite a bit! So thanks for that! I just wanted to ask you, do you have like a myspace of Reverbnation page where you put all your music up? It would be great if I could listen to this song in particular, cuz I feel it'll probably gimme a better feel of understanding what you're trying to convey. Thanks again!
