No the reason that we(campers) sound good is because of acutal FAMU band members teaching us tone quality, phrasing, and the necessary things that makes music sound good. 1 or 2 sections doesn't make a full band sound good. Don't individualize sections

It's a combination of two things. Firstly, FAMU has the best arrangements of any of the HBCUS....period...Secondly, the type of high-schooler attracted to FAMU has an ear for music, obviously....point being that they probably didn't waste a lot of time dealing with fundamentals and were free to explore all the possibilities the music actually had offer.
