There is something called the National Crime Victimazation Survery; people who have been affected by unlawful behavior are asked to fill out a report including the nature of the crime and the race of the perpetrator. The percentage of blacks incarcerated, matches the number of blacks reported by the NCVS for violent crime. Suggesting the people who are commiting the crimes are the ones being arrested.
Im not saying there arent discrepansies in the criminal justice system relating to wealth and poverty (obviously the relationship between race and income can't be ignored). But to say that there isn't a HUGE problem in this country with black crime is just wrong. We need to be thinking of practical solutions rather than just ignoring the problem all together, simply because its easier to do.

As far as I know he became senator as an Independent, not as a Republican or a Democrat. Lieberman is not a Republican, but he often votes along with the Republicans, especially on foreign policy, and supported McCain. On domestic policy he strongly supports free trade. Yet, he doesn't agree as much with the Republicans on domestic issues as the Democrats.

There is something called the National Crime Victimazation Survery; people who have been affected by unlawful behavior are asked to fill out a report including the nature of the crime and the race of the perpetrator. The percentage of blacks incarcerated, matches the number of blacks reported by the NCVS for violent crime. Suggesting the people who are commiting the crimes are the ones being arrested.

But to say that there isn't a HUGE problem in this country with black crime is just wrong. In many ways, society has failed them and they are forced to do what they have to do to survive. Pat Buchanan is on the money as usual, the blacks support the blacks. We talk about a post-racial world and a post-racial president, but in truth, the people who are post-racial (as a majority) are the white in this country, not the blacks.
Look at Obama's black voter percentages; 95% of blacks voted for him in the presidency. If 95% of whites voted McCain, what would everyone say?
Blacks are the ones behind on this issue, but it's no surprise seeing as they are behind in everything else too.

Fair enough, I don't know for sure what his motivations are, but it strongly looks like he supported Obama because he was black (which is not wrong, and I was in favor Obama to become President as well)..
You see, Powell is a promonent Republican. To suddenly support a Democrat when you are a Republican is strange. Therefor I tend to assume he didn't support Obama because of ideological reasons but because of race.
Would Powell have switched sides if Obama was white? I think not.

As far as I know he became senator as an Independent, not as a Republican or a Democrat. Lieberman is not a Republican, but he often votes along with the Republicans, especially on foreign policy, and supported McCain. On domestic policy he strongly supports free trade. Yet, he doesn't agree as much with the Republicans on domestic issues as the Democrats.
As for him being a liberal, I don't know. When is somebody liberal? I wasn't talking liberal or conservative, but Democrat or Republican.

No, I base it on his voting record. When Republicans and Democrats disagreed on issues, he sided with Democrats 78.9% of the time between 1990-2000 and 90.5% of the time from 2000-2006. That he has taken non-liberal positions on various issues doesn't erase the fact that, on most issues, he takes liberal positions. His voting record is at least as liberal as John McCain's is conservative.
And Democrats can be concerned about multi-trillion dollar annual deficits, can't they?

after many years of promotions all the way up the general ladder to chief of staff were by republicans and he was bush's main man to be head of state - twice and really whatever position he wanted. then upcomes a believable black candidate and he not only votes for him because he was black - there's no denying it - but jumped ship i.e. changed parties for the sake of voting obama.
