  • That's an excelent technique, but I have a question, if you can answer.

Isn't dangerous do bends on a mandolin? The strings looks so tight.

  • SICK DAWGA

  • Wicked <3

  • Although I am not a mandolin player, these lessons are very helpful for me.

I'm a bass player who tunes his bass in fifths, CGDA.

  • i have that shirt

  • Everytime I try and find somebody playing blues on mandolin you seem to be the only person doing it right. Most people tend to slide back into playing bluegrass riffs.

I just think there's a really kick-butt sound that goes with playing electric guitar blues riffs on an acoustic mandolin.

  • I love playing the blues. I do not like blue grass and never learned to play blue grass. This guy knows the blues and how to teach. I play some BB King on my banjo, a real hoot.

  • I second that. I'll buy it.

  • You are filling a deep void with your lessons, Jim. Very informative. Would love to see you create an instructional DVD at some stage, covering material like this, including other non-traditional ideas.

  • As long as it has close ups of both the left and right hand i'll buy it.

Has anyone seen his DVD 'Hootnanny'
