  • This is AMAZING.

100 times better than Studio Version as JBester316 announced.

Sadly, i had MP3 version but it was overwriten.

But i still know where i can find one.

Roy is the best vocalist born in this Earth EVER!

  • Does anybody have a mp3 of this song live version?

  • Haunting opening, I love it.

  • I heard Roy live in April or something, in a wedding. It was perfect! :D

  • tears shed from my eyes while listening to this beautiful song. oh! how i missed my sailor husband so much...my favorite lines- "she remains by the window alone, staring into the rain she is trying to guide his way home keeps on praying for God to protect him." it describes exactly the thoughts and feelings of the sailor's wife... thanks Kamelot. XD

  • awww one guy missed the like button

  • great song, great Voice = Kamelot

  • Who is the one who didn't like the video? This song is still great while performed live...

  • Indeed this song is actually better than the studio version, I atotally agreed! I love it, absolutely love it..

  • I love love love Roy's voice..... <3 It's funny though because where I'm from, his accent sounds very "moutainish" like he's from the country here, lol. I know he's from Norway though.

  • @ipodchik Funny you said that. When I first heard this version, I thought: why does Roy Khan speak Hillbilly? Isn't he supposed to be Norwegian? :D

  • @LOLPombaer

hehe, he is Norwegian, yes. Must be bad influences from the rest of the group :p

  • For those that don't know this is from their album "One cold winter's night" It's a great album. If you like them live then you should look it up. It's magnificent.

  • @jJenova I believe this is from "Expedition" but "One Cold Winter's Night" has many great live songs as well

  • It is possible for you to send me this song by e-mail??? I cannot find it, even if I've been looking for it for three or four months... pleeeease! It would be an enormous favour!!! I love this live version! =)

  • The "Each Wave's a promise" part at the end gives ME goosebumps.

  • This version gives me goosebumps.. Amazing.

  • I remember reading a poem a long time ago that I am absolutely certain is the basis to Kamelot's creation of this song. If anyone could suggest the possible title for the poem that would be sweet

  • @MindOfPagan - The first time i heard this song, i associated it with a poem written by Henrik Ibsen called "Terje Vigen" - it is about a man from Norway, who during the war in 1809 rows over to Denmark from Norway for food and other supplies. He leaves his wife, Anna, and his kids alone and they pray for his safe return. - In my opinion, it's a very good poem, which might have inspired this song. But the poem is in norwegian though, and i don't know if it's translated. i hope i helped!

  • @bmzbg Hahaha don't forget that Roy Khan IS Norwegian, so he could've tranlsated it himself =]

  • @ReneIsSoCool101Yes

I was talking about the poem being translated to English. I'm norwegian too.. haha :)

  • @bmzbg OHHH ok I thought you ment Kamelot trying to translate the poem, lol my bad haha

  • I'm not saying that he's in any way singing badly in this song, but it's awesome how much he has improved since this song.

  • 000HaDeeL000 . acuslly they are extreamly famous. just not in america. they are one of the biggest bands on the power metal circut. they are HUGE in europe and parsts of asia :/

  • OMGOMGOMG

his voice is so high in this recording! XD I'm used to his deeper voice.

  • kamelot has been my favorite band for 6 years and running and this is my favorite song of all time by them. roy's vocals are beyond superb and the entire world should know of them and this song

  • @adie132 Yea it's such a shame that they're not that famous !!! cuz I think Roy and kamelot best thing walked earth !

  • Wow, this live version completely owns the studio version. Amazing guitar work near the end.

  • @JBester316 Too true. I think he sings better live, way better feel to it.

  • Where dis you get the pics?

  • It's even better than the studio version...

  • @dakkar182 That is Kamelot for you, they blew me away live, since I already love their albums you can imagine how hard that rocked ^^

  • lucky you!

I still await when they come near my place...

  • Going to see them for the second time in late march, they got a big fanbase in Europe so they luckily show up alot here :)

Where are you that they don't come?

  • Croatia.

  • Good song, but kind of sad if you listen closely.

  • if this song had been backed up by the same marketing machine that British and USA bands usually have, it would have become the world's top ballad, at the same level as Nothing Else Maters, Unforgiven and others..

  • True.
