This game was a bit far fetched when it came to the realism. I mean come on, a giant NVA super fortress dedicated to torturing Americans? It tried wayyyy to hard to be disturbing.

This game has its faults, ie, in getting your character to move in sync with firing etc, but with a bit of perserverence, it comes naturally.
In all, it's one of the most rewarding games I've played, with a different color scheme for every mission that makes you think " Here we go, what's next?". No blandness there.
The graphics may now seem cardboard 5 or 6 years on, but the gameplay, personalities and sickass humor were what makes a lot of other games seem dull, personally speaking.

most ppl that where drafted did not go to the war. many where sent to Europe to defend Europe against the USSR many also served on other bases around the world.
also not everyone drafted is in the front lines. keep in mind a drafty still had to take the Military entrance test and many got low scores to avoid front line units.

ok what u have to do is first secure the village area and once u do that go and look for a cow thingy. once u see it, go to the right but u might get blown up by a trip mine. if u survive thar (ha) u will see a bunch of VC and a small hut kill the VC (i suggest u grenade them) and u will find the dude in the hut (and i know all that at the age of 12 lol)
Despite its graphics the game was really good, at least in my opinion the 2nd was also good even if they put a fictional twist which while seemed kinda out of place to be in a sequel. I personally came to love the 2nd game for what it was, and come to think of it the 1st game focused on so much craziness I guess I see why they'd go outside the box for the 2nd. At least the guy you play as in #2 had a voice actor which gave him more of a personality :3.

@poxflaza um dude I have taken classes on Vietnam history and I have a father who did 4 tours in Vietnam as naval Spec Ops. 1968-1971. I know what i'm talking about.
most ppl that where drafted did not go to the war. many where sent to Europe to defend Europe against the USSR many also served on other bases around the world.
also not everyone drafted is in the front lines. keep in mind a drafty still had to take the Military entrance test and many got low scores to avoid front line units.

@poxflaza Do you know anything about that test?To be Infantryman you need more than low test scores,its something like 31 to pass while you need somthing like 39 to enlist as an infantryman.These tests do not mean that you'll be smart they're only used to know how fast you can think.Its a nato standard.Nam was different though my uncle told me stuff about when he was in the Marines in Vietnam.Now were in 2010 a lot of stuff has changed ever since...

To be honest, you can't blame them. Blame the media for portraying the American soldiers that way..
I mean come on, the soldiers who committed the My Lai Massacre and other similar incidents deserve that + worse.
Oh and Vietnam was a sham conflict. It was USA and its Allies sticking their dicks in where it didn't belong, much like today with Iraq/Afghanistan.

I wish, that Guerilla Games would make a Shellshock: Nam '67 2, since they have made such and extreme good title like Killzone 2, they could defintly not make it as bad as the first game. But i don't mean it sucks, only some people does. I would love to se a Shellshock: Nam '67 2 :)

ok what u have to do is first secure the village area and once u do that go and look for a cow thingy. once u see it, go to the right but u might get blown up by a trip mine. if u survive thar (ha) u will see a bunch of VC and a small hut kill the VC (i suggest u grenade them) and u will find the dude in the hut (and i know all that at the age of 12 lol)

yeah that was a pretty easy mission.
Despite its graphics the game was really good, at least in my opinion the 2nd was also good even if they put a fictional twist which while seemed kinda out of place to be in a sequel. I personally came to love the 2nd game for what it was, and come to think of it the 1st game focused on so much craziness I guess I see why they'd go outside the box for the 2nd. At least the guy you play as in #2 had a voice actor which gave him more of a personality :3.
