  • When does Gonzo's fondness for chickens come into play? I've always loved that aspect of him, he's so sweet.

  • @MissBarghest Well, actually it was aired for kids and teens who were too old for Sesame Street. The Muppet Show is one of the all time best shows ever made though, for any age.

  • buy the boxed set. muppets are cool!

  • oooh ! le petit pain dit "oh thanks Charles, vous êtes le plus grand !" ( : "Oh Thanks Charles, you're the best") :p

  • @MissBarghest REALLY???

  • the inchworm song is fantastic, it was sung in the movie Hans Christian Andersen, but I prefer the Muppet version!

  • I always love kermit's flailing arms

  • Lovely :-)

  • i like the back-up singers in charles aznavours number

  • I'm so glad to find this. I remember watching it as a child, and again watching it with my own children. It's such a lovely little piece.

  • I like Fozzy's ears. They're so cute. :-)

  • Hello, I'm Spanish but I think that the bread says: "Charles, vous êtes le plus grand" (= Charles, you're wonderful).

    Bye ( :) )

  • Definitely one of the best shows!

Does anyone understand what the bread says in the end? My French unfortunately is below avarage, but for some reason I am not even getting this acustically...

    Can anyone help me?

Thanks for uploading these magnificent pieces of television art!

The Muppets will never loose their unique attractiveness! Bravo, Jim Henson!

  • @AleeraGorvan oh Charles vous etes le plus grand (oh Charles you are the greatest)

  • Of all performances from this legendary show. This one will stay with me for the rest of my life.

  • The "party of 75" joke is probably one of the funniest jokes I've heard all month. Any arguments?

  • "LOOK Out !"

That ALL I can Say !!

My MAIN-Muppet is Kermet The FROG, of Course !!!

  • I miss The Muppet Show...especially when you look at all the garbage that passes for children's TV nowadays.

  • The Muppet Show wasn't actually a kids' show. It was aired at night for adults. But the content is suitable for everyone. It was just for adults in particular.

  • interesting... i think this is one of the only songs they do more than once on The Muppet Show. Danny Kay does this same song, but then again, it's from his movie, so he's entitled.

  • Statler and Waldorf actually LIKED Fozzie's act!?

  • Miracles can happen. LOL

  • I LOOOVE that "Inchworm song" I remember it from when was a kid watching the muppets with my family!

  • Me too, a beautiful song. It made me become interested in music at 12 years old.

  • Gonzo ate the contract??? - What did the joke about it "being binding" mean? I did not get it.

  • in terms of diet something that's BINDING means it can make you constipated.

  • @TamTheHamster

    It's a constipation joke.

  • Charles Aznavour can make any little song into a smash hit. How awesome he is!!

  • Charles Aznavour is not an actor, he is a chansonnier

  • not a chansonnier, un chanteur !)

  • I stand corrected :)

  • And I stand confused, please pardon my ignorance but what is a chanteur?

  • 'chanter', the infinitive in french, means to sing. the suffix -eur is like the english -er. so chanteur means 'singer'. french, however, is masculine/feminine noun-oriented, so a female singer would be with the feminine suffix -euse, thus, 'chanteuse' for a female singer.

  • You have to realzie that not all the Guest stars were actually actors, and that a great deal of them were actually profesinal singers and comedians.

And a few on Ocassion were Dancers.

Juliet Prowse was a dancer and she never sang.

Rudolf Nereyv was a ballet dancer, but he DID sing becuase he wanted to.

The way I see it... the guests had rights to make requests of what songs they want to sing.

If I were on the muppets I sure would...

  • How absolutely lovely, oui?

  • mais, bien sure.

  • ooooooohhh *-*

  • This is a great scene... makes me cry for no reason...

  • Yeah, it's such a strange little song.

  • Well, he is being very kind to the little worm... that's pretty moving. For me it reminds me of petting fuzzy caterpillars as a kid.

  • Oooh Charles, vous êtes la plus grand!

  • from hans christian andersen. song by danny kaye.

  • It was performed by Kaye himself later on in the series...but I like this staging better.

  • Inchworm...Inchworm.

    Measuring the merrigolds....

    -Qes

  • loved it
