I used a Gameshark Pro with the N64 version of this game and things got weird. I turned traffic off in cruise mode and plowed through other cars at 300 mph without crashing or spinning out :)

I grew up playing this when I was at least 4 years old. Honestly, I prefer this better than the Fast and the Furious arcade game. This has to be Eugene Jarvis' best games that he's created.

Cruis'n World was actually more fun for me than Cruis'n USA. I like using that secret car that looks like a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT. A unique thing about this game is that people drive on different sides of the road, just like in real life. Knowing which lane is the correct lane to avoid oncoming traffic is absolutely important to avoid getting owned. I usually like racing the Germany and Japan stages. Awesome video. Great memories.

you are playing it on mame right? how do you do to have it run so smoothly? it freezes all the time for me and runs very slow. Also, i cant get it to configure keys right. No matter what i do the car runs by itself even if im not pressing anything and it runs as it was hitting the break at the same time. Please help.

he could be running a not-even-released-yet beta or he could be using a system specific emulator (I think this game was in an arcade very similar to an N64, which means a slightly modified N64 emulator should work, but don't quote me on that).

No, its mame. I know because the game starts the same as mine and have the same options as well. I also own the N64 emulator and although similar its not like this. I kinda managed to configure the keys so its not like they are pressed anymore, however the car itself runs very slowly despite the speed meter reads its reaching almost the maximum speed. Also, the game speed is not good and freezes a lot.

I know, that's what I said, it could be an unreleased beta of MAME, explaining why it runs so smoothly. It could also be an emulator specific to that arcade hardware that shows the same boot screen (as any arcade game boots similar to that and an emulator would show it).

Gee man.. now that I hear it's music in full glory, I feel so ripped off. I believe you could buy a graphics enhancing module kit for your n64 to give it visual boost in the end of it's days, but it wouldn't hurt if they also developed some extra gravis ultrasound alike add on sound cards to make the audio somewhat acceptable, because the music sounded like pc midi on no name brand soundblasters in 8-bit mono.

this shit brings back memories of my arcade, filled with cigarette smoke and over-loud 16 bit games. In a simpler time, this game was awsome, but the midi-soundtrack on the N64 version was horrible, and IMO, it ruined the experience a wee tad.

lol.. if you play in the arcade i have 1 cheat... you can have 4 bonus cars... you press the first button by starting by the top and hold it... turn the wheel and you can choose ... you have a red car...a pink volkswagen... a blue 10 wheels truck and a purple old car ! you have any comments on my comments? go to my account page and send me a message !

Oh god, I used to be in the arcade in Walmart back in 2005, and this game was so fantastic! The arcade there is closed now and it turned into a bank and that sucks.

I just erased windows and put 64-bit Ubuntu on it. I'm running the 64-bit mame 0.126 and now it runs perfect... i wonder if i had some spyware that was making it slow.

Was Cruis'n World released in Japan? If it ever released in Japan they would love it. But overall decent video and sometimes you need to do the Car Vault.
