Just so you know, the moment you press your ability, the damage is dealt, you just do not see it before the animation. Also, if they will die from the attack, they will 'freeze' and die as soon as the animation hits, and there is nothing they can do about it.
For example, I am guessing you have noticed in PvP already, that your character stops and is unable to act for a split second before death sometimes? Yeah that is how it works. The damage it not delay, you just don't see it instantly. (:
@Qasper there is a delay, while it doesn't always wait for the animation to 100% finish it still waits, you can really notice this on some skills when the global cooldown is used but there is a delay till the damage is done, when you use a GCD the skill should do its damage not have to wait any amount of time as it leads to a horrible feeling of unresponsive combat
Totally agree, especially with the Trade Market change... It's such a clunky system as it is now and I think people will be better off just spamming general to sell their stuff than use that piece of shit.
ALSO ZYBAK 1 other change is that i LOVE my camera zoomed out the furthest, which you have to bind yourself in the camera tab on key bindings in preferences. but EVERY time i load to a different area, die, etc. it zooms back in, and as a pvper i need it zoomed to the max. please add this to wish list :)
Pet ( companion ) attack, when you hot key pet attack, it doesn't switch targets for several attacks cycles it seems. It's either deliberately nonresponsive, or the pet ques a series of attacks and doesn't interrupt them ( likely ), OR the pet has a threat table that overrides MY commands for a time?!? It would be a shame to force a new companion position opening by my side...Sith style. DARA for the win!
Also, there should be a daily pvp quest station in MORE locations. It's dumb to have to fly out to a space station when I'm in a perfectly good city that has a complete combat training wing with vendors, like KAAS CITY! The delay in damage display has actually gotten me killed in pvp as I hesitate to ensure my attacks get off. Post the damage at the time of click and work the effect in with the GCD, not the other way around.
Project on Jedi Consular is ridiculous. It is the equivalent of Shock for Sith Inquisitor, and it takes more than twice as long to do damage as compared to Shock.

Doing development they actually took out a long segment of how happy they were about abilities not doing damage until the animation hit. Simply because they wanted the game to look and feel more realistic or something like that. So, I'm pretty sure that's never going to change regardless.
Another wish, you need more options to sort out things by vendors. Cause' you're right now just looking at alot of items randomly placed in the vendor-window, which makes it kinda clunky to find the exact items you can actually use.
Well try healing in pvp with the delays im full health on second then i get hit by 5 rockets 4 force chokes 3 backhands 2 shocks. 1 snipe shot and im dead without even being able to finish casting a instant Lightning Shield. But to be honest a good caster player should be able to dodge your instant attacks with a well timed sidestep. I mean after all meelee just has to run around a corner to stop a 2.5 second crushing darkness cast.
Hi. Regarding the first problem you describe in this video, I thought it was exactly opposite. I am playing a warrior and they have that big swing attack (not sure what it's called). I was wondering why is it not doing any damage, but then I noticed it did right away, not when the saber hit the target. One thing that I want is for the camera to not snap back behind the toon when you move. I want to be able to target people behind me when Im moving. It was a check box in wow that disabled the camera returning behind your character, but in this game you have to deal with it. It annoys me to no end in PvP.

Zybak Don't you think that the damage in the end of the animation makes the game more realistic and it will Really change the PVP so you need to choose the right spells in the right situations to do good in PVP!
also zybak there is by default something turned on in settings that "ques up attks" so if your button mashing as pvpers do you can actually que up an attack to do after the first one which can get in the way of some key abilities you have to switch or stop to do on fly such as an interupt or vanish be sure to check it out you can set it to 0 so it doesnt do this to you
and tab targeting by default doesnt work pve you have to change it in the settings and the pvp tab needs adjusting to work too
It's good that the attack doesn't go off till after the animation, it's what makes a game so fun as part of the visual aspect. It's not a disadvantage whatsoever since every attack does it too so it isn't a problem as you are as burdened as everyone else...

Zybak i feel your problem with the damage going off the end of the move as a Gunney Commando Trooper the move (Charged Bolts) which has a 1.5 second cast time but does alot of damage but it doesnt go off for atleast another 1.5 seconds after it is done casting.Which as you know is frustrating in PvP

Fucking nerf Assassin/Shadow.. op as fuck.. has every fucking ability you want in pvp or pve,(cc, slow, stun, knock back, stealth, the thingy to runnaway and the force sprint, long-mid-close battle burst, and also do tons of damage) take them some abilities or just take 5-10% of their burst.. is destroying the game because 80 % of the people is re-rolling that class..
@JamesJ008 Blizzard didn't have another game like it to base stuff off of like Bioware does. SWTOR mechanics would probably be way different if WoW wasn't made.

I want them to try to make it a little more compatible with different kinds of graphics cards. Whenever I play, I have HORRID FPS, which makes PvP pretty much unplayable
I don't agree on your first "problem", I myself think it's good that the timing is spot on as the animation match up with the attack. I don't really see it as an issue as you said, I think that it is just how the game is. Since this apply to all classes it is not unfair.
Maybe they did make the stronger attacks have a longer animation simply because they are so powerful that they should take their time to cast.
I can't even play the game yet. Every time I load the game, I get to play for like 2mins and then my computer completely shut down/crashes. I've tried everything on the SWTOR website as suggestion to fix the problem, but nothing has worked. Is anyone else experiencing this issue or can anyone guide me to a good resource to fix this issue?
If you think your abilities lag, try rolling an agent (or trooper), one of our abilites is a 3 second channel but doesn't do damage till the last second.

if you watch closely, the enemies health bar does change instantly and then the umber shows up after the animation so your damage is instant just the number isn't

Zybak i feel your problem with the damage going off the end of the move as a Gunney Commando Trooper the move (Charged Bolts) which has a 1.5 second cast time but does alot of damage but it doesnt go off for atleast another 1.5 seconds after it is done casting.Which as you know is frustrating in PvP

I agree.. but only one more thing.. Fucking nerf Assassin/Shadow.. op as fuck.. has every fucking ability you want in pvp or pve,(cc, slow, stun, knock back, stealth, the thingy to runnaway and the force sprint, long-mid-close battle burst, and also do tons of damage) take them some abilities or just take 5-10% of their burst.. is destroying the game because 80 % of the people is re-rolling that class..

@JamesJ008 Blizzard didn't have another game like it to base stuff off of like Bioware does. SWTOR mechanics would probably be way different if WoW wasn't made.

The damage after animation is how it should be. It makes no sense to take damage from a lightsaber swing that hasn't hit you yet.

hmm in the sprint case I have to desagree with you... When you die you have to rebuff, sprint is just one more buff.... it can me that way for me... the rest I kinda agree, and BW should work on the queue problem, in bloodworthy EU is a nightmare :S but my guild is there and I don't want to reroll in another server. nice going Zybak, nice to see you back to MMO's

I want them to try to make it a little more compatible with different kinds of graphics cards. Whenever I play, I have HORRID FPS, which makes PvP pretty much unplayable

I don't agree on your first "problem", I myself think it's good that the timing is spot on as the animation match up with the attack. I don't really see it as an issue as you said, I think that it is just how the game is. Since this apply to all classes it is not unfair.
Maybe they did make the stronger attacks have a longer animation simply because they are so powerful that they should take their time to cast.
But maybe it's just me.

I can't even play the game yet. Every time I load the game, I get to play for like 2mins and then my computer completely shut down/crashes. I've tried everything on the SWTOR website as suggestion to fix the problem, but nothing has worked. If you think your abilities lag, try rolling an agent (or trooper), one of our abilites is a 3 second channel but doesn't do damage till the last second.
