  • DAYUM NATURE U SCAREH

  • I read the Warrior Cat series. I thought it was basically like this, but a little more teenager like. I now understand.

  • Can't believe it's classified Universal.

  • I remember when I was a kid... oh... it seems like a thousand centuries ago... we watched that film. There it was... a pile of little bunnies. The horror... The horror.

  • Those poor bunnies! Is you're going to make a nightmarish movie about fuzzy animals dying DON'T animate it!

  • @Japanlover777 They already did :)...i have the DVD LOL!

  • @Japanlover777 Surely it's better than making it live action where it will look more realistic

  • omdfgjij dioj I remember watching this as a kid. oh CHRIST, I remember being afraid of rabbits for MONTHS. mom. dad. WHY. auughhhh

though on another note, I rewatched it a few years later, and being able to comprehend the plot, the film was /great/, the book is even greater. a highly recommendable read! it will definitely bring you into the eyes of the characters and touch your emotions!

  • that shitty movie fucked my childhood :D

  • Thumbs up if this book was a mandatory read, then later watched the movie in class

  • I had nightmares from this movie but damn, lts beautiful

  • Ohh! i have this movie!! :D...ON DVD! :D yay! I'm gonna watch it later -watches later- :)

  • This film is amazing and so under rated. It is a dark story but also beautiful, i also made the mistake of watching it as a child but that's not the films fault, in the 70s animation was the only way to make a film about talking rabbits!

  • i never knew this film existed until today, it seems pretty fucked up...

  • MY CHILDHOOD BROUGHT ME HERE!

  • why the hell would you make a film about rabbits killing each other! o_o

  • @Nintendolls you must be young. generations before you were built tougher.

  • it didnt seem as bad when i was 6

  • I watched this when I was a kid. I remember i fell in love with bunnies because of this....what was wrong with me?!

  • this was a very.. very disturbing trailor.. it sent a shiver down my spine...

  • That's right! For kids!

  • I remember watching this movie when i was like, three, some parts scared the living shit out of me. I loved this movie, and i still do, even considering how terrified of rabbits i was for about a year after.....

  • It's funny how they warn you that it's not a kids movie, instead, they make it sound like an ad for a stephen king movie.

  • I came here because this is a brilliant film.

  • Looks like a Don Bluth movie on steroids.

  • I remember when I first saw this movie i never understood it but now that i do im like wtf...O.o Now matter how messed up it is, its still a great movie and the book is even better

  • Begining: Aw this looks like a good kids movie! Theres cute fluffly bunnies in it!

0:50 Uh maybe its for older children?

    2:40 OMFGWTFDKFHELOHEIHTECANNOTBEUNSEEN

  • THUMbs UP if SMoosh Sent u here!

  • @madzombiepig Hell yes

  • Dude,I like my bunnies cute and fluffy, not Dying with teeth covered in blood. :'(

  • YOU STOOPIT BUNNEH!

  • Yeah just because its cartoon doesnt mean its for the kiddies. Really one of the most over looked bits of film and artwork out there. And when I say cartoons and use the word animation I mean people drawing it out on paper so its still art.If Japen can make a better action movie in animations than most live action hollywood movies today. Then why just overlook it speedracer was a better action race show then most of the fast and furious movies put together.

  • I saw this, got interested, then I saw the bunnies mutilating one another..fuck if you're going to get me to watch this before bed youtube, I'm going back to Friendship is Magic.

  • What.....the F@%#...........

  • ...I'm never gonna think of bunnies the same way again D:...

  • For the last time this IS NOT a childrens film, just because it's animated it doesn't automatically mean it's for kids. You wouldn't show South Park to your 5 year old now would you >.<

  • I think I'm going to have nightmares after just watching the trailer...o_o

  • fun fun fun, rabbits tear each other to shreads, get brutally eaten by dogs/other creatures, shot and hit by cars/run over by trains oh sweet little children movie

  • So many nightmares, but such a good film

  • The book is way better. A definite legend. It's sad that all these people are only watching the movie trailer when there is a masterpiece of a book waiting to be read. So if your reading this, please go to the library or something and read it. You'll be glad you did.

  • This shows way too much xD

  • Omg I watched this when I was 8 and after I was so terrified of rabbits!! Sometimes I still have bad dreams about freaky ass rabbits!!!

  • im gonna bring this u every time i want to talk about the most fucked up children's shows

  • @youknowwho543

This was never a children's show.

  • @faiyez hmm im pretty sure were i heard it from say it was, should double check that then.

  • I'm going to start reading this book in class. Is it any good???? I hope it is because I'm a VERY picky reader!!!!!!!!

  • I remember this movie. It scared the absolute crap out of me. Still does.

  • ...Now I have to wonder what really goes on between my two pet rabbits.

  • Listening to Andrew Wilkow sent me here

  • 2:40 They look like rabbit sperm!

  • I remember when this movie made my bawl my eyes out. still does. ..>.>

  • my best film of all time even if it did scare me as a kid and also the brighteyes song used to make me cry lol....i have a big interest in wildlife what all stared thanks to this film and the book.....great film :)

  • Even if it's animated, this is DEFINITIVELY not a kid's film.

But I do, I think it's an excellent critique on the horrors society faces today, it's just that all the parallels to human behavior are masked with fluffy rabbits.

  • LISTEN TO drew6874. I was 7 or 8 when I saw this and I was honestly terrified..

  • When I have children my son is getting this for his 4th birthday...i'm sure he'll love it :).

  • @drew6874 Better make that 15 year-old or under. This freaked me out more than The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Exorcist or any of the Ring films.

  • @Bragglord I watched it when I was five and I didn't even notice because I was to young and besides I used to like horror movies and I laughed I don't like horror movies anymore.

They shouldn't even have an age limit for this only the cuss words would have age limits.

So there for it is a good movie. I'm 11 and I love blood and violence it gives it more feature.

  • wtf

  • Peter Rabbit on steroids!

  • Hey this is Rated PG.

  • @CockyR4 It's rated U according to my DVD.

  • @eateroftheflame Back in the day was PG.

  • Is it wrong of me to get hooked on this because of skrillex? XD

  • This movie is one of my childhood traumas

  • Donnie Darko anyone?

  • @wqsr4o Yep, that's how I heard of this movie.

  • I saw this film when I was 6; interestingly, the violent fights between the rabbits and dog weren't that distressing, courtesy of Discovery Channel specials. I was wigged out by the black rabbit scene, though. My sister, 8 years older, says my face was priceless.

  • It is an amazing book, and an amazing movie, but it is very violent and bloody, and definitely not suitable for younger kids. If your child wants to see bunnies torn apart my dogs, or their ears ripped off by the Efrafan Owsla, then it's perfect for them. It is a very good story though, and very well developed. Just make sure you read some things about it if you're not all for blood and gore. It's right up there with The Plague Dogs. Looks kiddy friendly, but not everything is sugarplums.

  • I read "Tales From Watership Down" today. It has the funniest ending to it (if you have seen the TV series it's almost too much).

  • how does THIS lead to BALTO trailor!?!?

  • I don't remember the animation being so lame. Oh, well.

  • Skrillex

  • in hindsight this is one fucked up film

  • WTF

  • "All is calm and peaceful in the meadow... OR IS IT?!"

    Words that ruined my childhood.

  • 667 =)

  • uh oh 666 likes...

  • How many came here from Woot's shirt of the day page?

  • How many came here from shirt.woot.com?

  • This looks like The Animals of Farthing Wood

  • Was that a promotion or a demotion?

  • Woot woot!!

  • thumbs up if woot sent you here

  • Upvote if you came here from shirt.woot.com

  • i finally found it, all the time i remember was a rabbit hopping like its a soul

  • makes me want to reread the book

  • @princessthyemis i just finished it 5 minutes ago. it's totally awesome. one of the best books i've ever read (though i don't read much at all). it's surprisingly short though, i was sad that it was coming to an end.

  • Pfft, what you guys talking about. This is one of my favorite films ever.

  • Brilliant, thought provoking and bloody as hell animated movie. I loved it since i was 12 and blew my mind 18 years ago as it's one of my fave animated movies. It's up there with Antz, Pom Poko, Felidae, Twilight of the Cockroaches etc. when it comes to grown up talking animal animated movies.

  • @RainingFireLight

Saw is laughable compared to Martyrs, Salo, Men Behind The Sun, In a Glass Cage, The Untold Story, Cannibal Ferox, Irreversible, Ilsa she-Wolf of the SS, Ichi The Killer, New York Ripper, Cannibal Holocaust etc. but i hear Serbian Film is really fucked up in the skull but i refuse to see that garbage after all the horrific things i've heard in reviews especially the newborn part, WTF.

  • @Kari166

Not all is dying, Princess and The Frog was a success as was Lion King's 3D re-issue and Ghibli still makes 2D animation movies and so do some european countries. Would you like to see Stop Motion and Claymation movies?

  • @Johnlindsey289, well, I made that comment WAAAYYY before The Princess And The Frog came out. XD

They've also made Winnie The Pooh and Tangled. (The latter is SO MUCH better in CGI. Rapunzel's hair is gorgeous!)

  • @skinnerburgers

He is adorable just like my old pet rabbit Cropsy

  • @hedgehogamy300

Japan makes these kinds of animated movies

  • I got very sad when watching this movie as a child.

  • they don't make cartoons like this anymore. . . shame..

  • It is not that badly disturbing you guys. Maybe if you were under eight years but I actually thought that it was pretty calm compared to the book's descriptions. If anything, be glad that this was as violent as it is because it is all very purposeful and meaningful, especially in the book. Heck, even the T.V. series was pretty violent but because it was for kids had to be less violent then it should've been.

  • This movie scarred me for life! And it's all my mom's fault cuz she thought I should rent it because rabbits are my favorite animals BUT I DID NOT WANT TO SEE DYING BUNNIES!!! really I still have times when I remember seeing the bunny blood. AH! Dx I hate this!

  • i've never seen the movie, and i'm not planning to. the book was worse enough. this shit looks so effing scary. so much for cute fluffy bunnies?

  • @SweetDeceitxo somebody wont be able to play overgrowth

  • Narrated by HAL 9000.

  • my mom rented this when i was young for me and my sister, thinking it was for kids. We totally weren't expecting there to be blood and bunnies killing each other. I remember how sick I was after :(

  • 0:55, hoy fucking shit that a lot of blood!

  • The book is much better, especially the chapter where they stay at the "warren of the snares". That was probably one of the most interesting and disturbing part of their adventure. But the movie is still enjoyable.

  • omg still scared from 4 years old

  • 0:00 oooh look a nice kid friendly movie! 0:55 ummm ok thats a bit weird 2:52 OMG WTF!

  • The book is tied for my favorite ever, but the film isn't that appealing to me. I do like it, but....AAARRRRRGGGGHHH! All I can do is think about the book, movie, and the series. If the book got a sequel out, it would be one of the happiest days of my life.

  • @Jabasourus there is a sequel book called tales from watership down

  • Best film when I was a kid this even though if it wasent a cartoon and it was with people it would prob be an 18 : p

  • I want to watch the film, but I'm reading the book right now. Can someone tell me if the movie is much different from the book?

  • @Jabasourus Read the book first. The film is great, but the book is a classic.

You'll miss not being able to read it for the first time. And you'll like the film more.

Unless, of course, you aren't hooked by the book... I'd give it to the middle of Book II...

  • @Jabasourus By Book II I mean Part II of the book of course. :-)

  • @Jabasourus And by "you'll like the film more", I mean: if you read the book first, you'll appreciate the film more, although the book is even better... more than 20% better

  • @Jabasourus But yeah, to answer your question, this movie is surprisingly accurate to the book. 0_o

  • so thats why shit on tabbit holes hmm.........

  • I'm thinking of trying to make a Watership Down AMV set to "Disturbia" by Rihanna. What do y'all think?

  • @gangurogeisha i don't think that a beautiful movie like watership down should be mixed with pop music like rihanna

  • @loonytin It is a beautiful movie, but don't talk shit about Rihanna, okay?

  • what????????? this is not for childrens...

  • 2:38 WAT.

  • What. The. Actual. Fuck.

  • trippyyyyy

  • SKRILLEX OWSLA

  • The characters were based upon comrades of the novel's author in WWII.

  • this movie destroyed my childhood

  • Wow, this movie looks really depressing. Good most definitely, but depressing and dark.

  • whew, i'm glad i didn't watch this when i was younger. and i thought bambi scars children for life...

  • I remember that I watched this even when I was a kid, watching the trailer for it, disturbes me a bit even now. Why did my mom let me watch this?? lol It must have given me nightmares.

  • I watched this trailer, crying and laughing maniacally while repeatedly shouting NOOOOO. Dear lord I want to watch this movie.

  • OH FUCK NO......NOT AGAIN, NOT THE FEILDS AND THE BLOOD AND THE DEATH!......... *curls into a ball*

  • The cold harsh truths of this world = Watership Down.

  • I watched this as a kid...loved every second of it X3

  • Thumbs up is Equestria Daily brought you here

  • @OnRushingRainbow Equestria Daily?!?!?!? O_o

And I was just thinking this needs to be ponified.

  • *shudders* extremely disturbing .

  • Holy shit

  • are you crazy!?!?!? i couldnt sleep for a freaking week when i saw the blood running down the meadow!!!!

  • i thought this was a christian cartoon or something like that ? when i first seen this cartoon watership down ??? i was like wat the fuck ...ahhahhahah

  • i watched this as a 4 year old... scarred for life.

  • what is this... I don't even....

  • this was the best series in my childhood i loved it <3

  • gorgeous book....gorgeous writing....and gorgeous film. what's better than a marvelous book read in youth that inspires us all our lives? -from childrens author stephanie tara

  • ..is this even a movie for kids?! apparently theres a lot of killings in this

  • @BVBitous No it is not for kids. The rabbit characters are very human and there is some very graphic violence. This is a tale of survival not a cute cartoon for kids.

  • @Zachtheawesome42 alright then

  • Skrillex

  • What the HELL was that?

  • This is a very beautiful movie! It's a wonderful adaptation of the book and a great depiction of (anthropomorphized) animal innocence and perserverance against danger; there a few moments of true horror, but they don't last and the message of hope shines through. You'll probably never look at a rabbit the same way again. For kids? Maybe older children, say 10 and older.

  • What I was expecting; cute little bunnies, with cute accesoires, kinda like Benjamin Bunny. The truth; creapy zombie bunny's, death, real life and Nightmares o.o

  • When I was six & going through a 'bunny stage', my mom got me this movie, thinking it looked cute, & I'd like it. That bunny stage ended that night. I don't think I can even bring myself to watching it again. :c

  • disturbing cartoon that looks like a kids film? Oh yea I'm so watching this movie.

  • This movie looks dark and violent, which is crazy. It looks like a kids film, but with animated blood. I don't think I've seen a cartoon like this....well, except Dead Space: Downfall. But this was in 1978, I don't think no one has seen somthing like this before back then.

  • Dude, this fim was so scairy to me as a kid, I had no idea what I was borrowing from the library. What was it rated?

  • @ResisterOfEvil apparently it was rated PG, but on the DVD i saw on a website, it was a U!! :O

  • I remember watching a little clip on a channel, really old, before i knew about bloody cartoons and anime.

And when i saw a rabbit get bloody cheewed to death, that scared the shit, and got nightmare. Really scary, but i want to see it now though :)

  • Zombie like, isn't it? rabid bunnies (like zombies) getting arrested for fleeing from danger, if not killed, and escaping to a safer place.

  • i am disturbed by just watching this video...O=

  • I read the book in 9th grade, and sure I didn't like it much but it was okay, and then i saw the movie this year and now I'm disturbed on a number of levels. o____O

  • this movie was more disturbing than saw

  • i want to read the book sooooo bad, since ive seen the movie a hundred times.

  • carmenjones is right!! i saw this movie as a child and was frightned to death by it!!

  • Well now i know why im totally fucked up :< this movie did it!

  • I picked up this movie in the shops, and thought "Oh OK, mum told me how she watched this as a kid, i'll give it a go. Probably quite young child based, but i'll watch it." Man, I Think it should have been a PG, not a U! There are quite some bloody and disturbing scenes in the movie. It was actually quite good! It surprised me a bit, I was expecting a cute, cuddly kiddie thing, but it wasnt!

  • my favorite character was Kehaar xD the badass bird with the russian accent, savin the day -3-

  • I loved this fucking movie!

  • @babesey100 R U sirius?! this movie is more disturbing than saw

  • Comment removed

  • @Reptobiz it is disturbing but it was and still is one of my favourite ever

  • @AmazinMusic17 you have no taste in books then :).

  • this was my favorite movie as i child i must have watched it a billion times :D

  • I remember when I was watching my two year old cousin, and I thought this was a kid friendly movie... she cried. :c

  • There was an TableTop RPG based off this...

  • @ROBOTPETER101 Bunnies and Burrows.

It was the first RPG to have combat mechanics.

The packaging shows Woundwort attacking a dog. -_-

  • bigwig is like, a badass XDDD

  • this book is like final destination LOL
