  • dude needs to focus on his energy drinks and pack up the drum kit..his skills are getting weaker and weaker w each record.

id be embarresed to post such a weak video.

  • does he do bodybuilding?

  • one of my favorite

  • kerry king said this guy has no hands regardless of his talent

  • @OneWithTheHerb Kerry King is a guitarist and has no right to weigh in on a drummer's skills. That being said, every drummer's play style is different. Raymond definitely isn't as good with fills and rolls as he is with double bass. Chalk it up to his personal play style and strength.

  • @nickXdillinger I agree yes he is more of a footwork guy, he chooses not to do a lot fills, if he wanted to he could just like i choose not use the pedal on the hi-hat that much. He is not a solo drummer, solo drummers seem to specialize in groove drumming I have noticed, and I don't see a groove drummer fitting in very well with Fear Factory. He is part of the reason the sound the way they do, as are the triggers, by using triggers he does not have to worry about the sound guy screwing it up.

  • @OneWithTheHerb Kerry King is a Douche and his band sucks

  • @ProdigalSin he could be a jackass but his band does not defintly suck my freind -.-

  • favorite drummer hands down. followed by tim yeung from nile and divine heresy. dino knows good drummers i guess.

  • Awesome Drummer! (one of my favourite ever)

  • The best drummer ever and forever!!!

  • Everyone can go challenge him and see who is who.

  • "has no hands" in regard to his drumming abilities" -Kerry King

  • That last part was from "My Grave" right? :)

  • if raymonds drums were on wheels he'd run you over

  • fuck drum triggers

  • Anyone knows what Chinese he uses? He's got the best freakin Chinese sound I've (almost) ever heard o.o

  • @CarcassAmarth Ziljian China trash

  • raymond+dino= best duo ever.

  • gene rapes this guy ....

  • @FuckinMetal3694 idk gene said before that raymond is an extrodinary drummer and has trouble playing his songs and i love gene hoglan prolly my fav drummer in ze world

  • @OGTheDemon hell yeah

  • I came at 2:15

  • What song is this?

  • @karkarey Empty vision, from the album "Transgression"

  • @lucifersam01 Thanks for the info! Appreciated!

  • Raymond Herrera! a human drum machine!!!

  • I'm a big fan of FF, but I always thought that Raymond's drumming was all centered around his double kicks. It sounds great the way he rocks it, but I'd prefer if he had more going on with his hands.

  • @damaged01 If You Think That Then Your Probably Haven't Heard Zero Signal.

  • @damaged01 If You Think That Then You Probably Haven't Heard Zero Signal. (One Of Their Songs That Was In the Mortal Kombat Movie.)

  • @TheSilenceIsBroken1 lol I have all the Fear factory dude. Zero signal is great. One of the classics from demanufacture. But I still don't think his finger and hand work is anywhere near his foot work.

  • He has a fan blowing his balls hehehe.

  • One of the best new metal drummers in the world

  • @coqui333 Hes no new drummer. He be doing this since 89 with FF

  • That poor cymbal Stood NO chance. :'(

  • @BiollanteSpawn

    What's so good about meshuggah?

Ok, thomas haake's insanly complicated drum beats, and just the whole vibe of it all

  • so brutal his so hard

  • Wow he hits hard, awesome! Thanks for the upload!

  • He's great, but no Tomas Haake. Fear Factory cannot (despite many years of comparison) ever be put even near Meshuggah.

  • @ObsidianImages

    Hahahahahaha...you can keep em :)

  • @Schatje79 Anyone who prefers FF over Meshuggah, needs their head, ears and everything else checked.

  • @ObsidianImages

    Whatever comforts you!

  • @ObsidianImages LOL, They wont be any good as long as they play 1 hote for half the song, have no song structure, and un-audiable vocals. I think I'll take Fear Factory.

  • @BiollanteSpawn You need your head and ears checked. And you clearly have no idea what you're on about.

  • @ObsidianImages Besides, what IS good about Meshuggah? (oh wow my last post was pretty bad)

  • @BiollanteSpawn Another thing. Non-AUDIBLE (learn to spell) Vocals? So, you cant hear his vocals? If you cant hear them, how do you come to mention them? Or do you mean you cant understand what he's saying? Thats got nothing to do with Audibility. That's to do with Clarity, Comprehension. Qualities youre clearly unfamiliar with. Another youtube fuckhead................

  • @ObsidianImages and another youtube smartass.

  • @BiollanteSpawn Smarter than your ass anyday.

  • @ObsidianImages Says the one whole likes one note chug band.

  • @ObsidianImages

Touting opinions as facts isn't indicative of someone who is smart.

Fear Factory and Meshuggah (and their respective drummers) are great bands.

  • @ArtOfPhire Youve got to be joking. Perhaps you are going deaf? If you know the first thing about drumming at all, Herrera is useless compared to Haake. learn some drum stuff, before speaking of it.

  • is betther george kollias

  • I hear he tried out for Slayer and didn't make it! What's up with that?

  • Quit with the shitty comments, AND WATCH THE VIDEO.

    WOOH AWESOME DRUMMING!

  • I have not seen him use those toms yet!.

  • @Aheadstix85 he never uses toms.

  • Great drummer, I just never undestanded the thing with the triggers in STUDIO. IMO Gene Hoglan can way techincal stuff.

  • @RustyBlade69 You can do a bunch of different things using triggers in the studio. For one, you can record the triggers as midi information and use that later on for sample replacement (common method to improve the consistency of drum sound in a similair fashion one would use a module for live and practice). You can also gate/sidechain the drums better off a trigger than a miced recording... the list goes

  • damn that is some nice footwork!

  • yeah, I saw flames on them bass drum hammers

  • im diggin the fan.

  • One thing is certain, he is an awesome drummer, fucking incredible.

  • look at his bloody calves! they are like the size of a chicken

  • what is he doing now that gene is in fear factory

  • the last song he played was "My Grave"

  • Thomas Haake's feet ain't got shit on this guy!

  • i love fear factory but if we're dropping names Chris Kontos would definantly be able to sleep with Raymonds wife.................. hes just that good

  • Everyone says tim yeung is so much better, I listening to his stuff it all starts to sound the same. It gets real repetitive with the same bass blasts. It seems he never changes up his double bass up like raymond, Its just the same speed every blast. The difference is raymond can play double bass precisely to any guitar riff and i just don't think tim can do that. Tim might have raymond on speed, but im not so sure about precision. But maybe he isn't faster, ever hear of the song messiah. ;)

  • Gene Hoglan owns this guy

  • @AlGerard

WRONG!!!! I saw RAymond in 1999 and he impressed me. He was a machine back then. I was @ FF on Saturday and Gene Hoglan was very proficient....but he didn't blow me away. If anything BOTH Gene and Raymond are in the same league. If either is better than the other it's only by the smallest percentage.

  • @Mjbabycakes7072 Gene is faster, and his kick patterns require a bit more stamina and his work in other bands is REAL varied, and he's more creative than Raymond. I'd say Gene is better, though Raymond is hardly bad either, just not as good.

  • @Mjbabycakes7072 gene seems to have a faster DB speed but Ray seems for in the pocket,

  • @AlGerard

Gene Hoglan is better, i agree that FF are better now, but Raymond is almost as good as Gene, both are drum machines

  • man he is a duublebass masta guud stuff especialy the triples in de furst part metal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anyone know the songs?

  • people misunderstand the talent of this drummer, he is good not just because he plays fast, it's because he does it so precisely, always in time....he evolved a lot during the years, got more accurate

  • dino's new drummer in divine heresy totally destroys this guy. check out tim yeung

  • @thispagesux i agree tim is better

  • @thispagesux

Tim is faster, and although i love really fast drumming i think Raymond Herrera is as good as him, but im not a drummer im just a begginer at guitar, but i can see how skilled someone is and i think both are equal

  • that 's just what i think , he is fast indeed. but the thing that makes him so good is how he plays , so precisely and just in time , and the coordination with hte guitar is awesome in slave labor, replica and all

  • fucking A

  • He is so powerful!

  • any1 who comes up with the self bias resistor beat is a sick head!!

  • One of my all-time favorite drummers. Precision, Speed and poly-rhythmic creativity.

  • I agree: perfect description of Raymond's style.

  • i love how his "dvd" never came out.

  • It did come out. It came with the Dual Disc version of transgression. I have it.

  • whats module he use with the triggers ?

  • ah, raymond, you are awesome in every way.

    hope to see you soon.

    david

  • I really wish you fucking dumbasses on youtube would stop posting random drummers names on other drummers videos to insinuate that they are good/better. No one cares if you think they are.

And it's not all about speed.

  • @ScreamxBloodyxGore

Besides the fact that you are absolutely right with that statement I wonder why you posted that. YT-comments are a gigantic collection of bs written down by prolly the biggest bunch of retards, so why do you try to argument with them? Save your energy and simply ignore/don't read that crap, you won't change anybody here.

  • kick very strong

  • Yes, this is one big Mexican dude...one of the best for sure...dude is like 6'5" or some sheet.

  • Rumour has it that Ramond is actually a cybernetic organism sent from the future to destroy humanities' supplies of bass drums

    : ?

  • That's no rumour, it's fact.

  • @mlc3 Rumour has it that he is a leather bag and he actually can carry 12 pounds of grounded meat , frozen or not :)

  • @mlc3 I believe this to be true. Both my bass drums are missing.

  • what an odd sounding ride...

  • fuckin badass drummer

  • I dont understand why he uses triggers! I love the slight inconsistency of fast kick drums. Oh well.....

  • he have a machine gun in her legs hahaha

  • 1:24 - end... takes talent my biased friends! Try moving your foot from bass to hi-hat and keeping rhythm up top at the same time... much fun but not the easiest thing to just pick up sticks and do bitches

  • this guy is insane he has one of the fastest double bass ive ever heard

  • 1:24 is the start of the song Transgression.

  • listen to album you prick before judging the sound of the drums....

  • im talking about the drums not the samples you tard

  • oh my bad i thought all the drums were triggered.

well then this video does no justice because the drums sound like shit.

  • agreed. i mean this guy inspired me to play drums 6 years back. u need to actually kno what he is doing instead of claiming hes playing an uninventive solo.

  • what the hell is a 'stem'?

    drum stems?

is that like the bullshit article i read on danny carey where he joked (thats why i call it bullshit cuz he was bullshitting us for fun) where he claimed his beats are based on algorhythmic equations

  • i mean ok... he can do heel toe, but he doesnt apply it well. theres not much variation in his beats. no fills. no ghost notes. no changes in foot patterns. nothing unpredictable. its clean... and thats really about it. unless someone can show me something mindblowing, im rather unimpressed. the video description is a tease.

  • u just pissed cuz u cant do it so what if u know all the percussion talk i know a guy who knows all about guitars, tabs, theory, and he cant play wortha shit

  • or you could grow up a little bit and realize that this is a simple solo. just kinda throwing that one out there. fyi, everyone knows a person. im a studio drummer. believe me, i can play this.

  • its not a solo. hes recording.

  • This isn't a solo, this is him recording drum tracks. Cunt.

  • last year i was walking through london with two friends of mine and we kept saying remarks like: "have you heard about immanuel KANT?" or "STFU // STOP INSULT'N PPL! catch my drift?

  • wow dude my bad dont get all critical on me or anything.

  • And why do people nowadays thinking they're better than everyone else? Drumming is not a competition, sure these songs from transgression aren't very technical, but they're solid drums. It's about the quality of the song alltogether, NOT the quality of the drums.

  • I wonder what it would sound like without triggers. still sic thoe. he needs to tighten his tention the he wouldent need triggers.

    stay (sic)

  • I love that double kick sound. it doesnt sound as good coming strait from the drum kit but once its all wired up it sounds amazing. raymond is an amazing drummer. great band

  • This is just a recording question (not really related to the video), but how do drummers record with click tracks when they are listening to the guitar track and such in their headphones?

  • well, thats not hard.

you can create a mix where you here the click track and what the guitarists played on it.

or you pan both tracks -> click track on the left, guitars on the right side.

  • that ride is dry as hell.

  • he tried out for slayer when dave lombardo left, but kerry king said that herrera has awsome feet but no hands. which means he can do fucked up double bass beats but you dont hear him do drum rolls and fills

  • i love slayer but their all about speed this guy has a totaly different style than lombardo, rays is more modern style and lombardo is old school speed metal, by the way ray does rolls but i agree he dont do much fills but it dont matter hes still badass

  • For me he is a good drummer, not the best but raymund is the coolest and the most down to earth drummer i know thats y i like, idolized and love this guy!!!!...

  • Yes. And so'?

  • yes he uses em but only to enhance listen to him from 1989 he could always do this stuff

  • All the metal drummers I new over the years used 20" kicks because they cut through the sound......

  • Either Raymond is a big man or his bassdrums are small.

  • He's a pretty huge guy. His arms are the size of most peoples' legs.

  • he looks like a huge fuckin wrestler

  • i think its a bit of both haha.

  • He's big AND his kicks are only 20". Awesome drumming.

  • all of the albums before transgression had a much more digital sound...and if you can say a drummer sounds like a digital piece of equipment..id take that as a very high compliment...

  • amazing drummer love FF

  • BEAST AS FUCK DUDE!!!!

  • No wonder he's a big advocate of triggers, his kit sounds like crap.

  • Well considering the camera looks like webcam quality and even crappy kits can sound a little tighter my moneys on the sound being blamed on the "state of the art" recording equipment

  • try rediculously loose bass heads, pillow 2 taste, happy clicking,he drives those fkin guitars through our brains!

  • in raymond we trust

  • that is a fucking power drummer for ya.

  • hes hitting as hard as he can for the recording i think

  • Being an Industrial metal drummer it calls for some pretty simple stuff most of the time compared to the other genre's of metal that are out there but Raymond is a badass and is very underated i wish he would some solo stuff and maybe a sideproject that showed a bit more of his chops, like his amazing footwork! damn!

  • i totally agree with you man

  • the best drummer ever..hes just not a household name cos Fear Factory is not commercial and they fkin rule

  • those patches give the bass drums colorful or should i say it gives them more attack not to mention it gives a slight clicky sound with is awsome by the way he rules i use something similar on my bass drum and it sounds awsome even if you r standing outside of the room the drums r in the have tons and tons of punch and click it awsome and of course i use tama also i have a super star custom

  • For guitarists: play along from 1:24 its fun syncing the riffs to the foot work, just throw in whatever :D

  • yea well..iv been a FF fan sense sou lof a new machine..i kind of stopped listening to them after archetype.but in anyway case badass band great drummer.go buy FF dvd digital connectivity.its a bit old..also go get blood bath an beyond from GWAR

  • this guy is no fucking joke he is amazingly fast and keeps the beats and shit he is tight fear factory is the shit

  • Chris Adler and Tomas Haake shit all over this guy................

  • LOL!

  • Good lord he pounds the shit out of them...

  • what song is he playing on the bass drum view part

  • Comment removed

  • The song on the bass drum view part is Transgression.

  • LOL fucking slipknot can eat a dick, as for korn, there meaaan but to very diff styles.

    raymond is fuckin ace

  • fuck you slipknot lovers, this guy is in 1 band, he doesnt need 2 or a few to build a dumber fanbase.. Fuck you whoever gave me a thumbs down...

  • this guy is great!

  • That is so fucking awesome!

  • Hes got sucha distintive style, he owns double bass peddaling.

  • most under-rated metal drummer.. Raymond plays the drums, he doesnt play with them like joey does..

  • slipknot blows!!!!!!!

  • didn't touch the toms once

  • reminds me of bleed by meshuggah, but not as fast

  • I LIKE THIS GAY, VERY TECNICAL

  • Double bass patterns he does are ridiculous. Idk, its weird, the work he does on like Demanufacture is all really amazing shit, but this is kinda like eh

  • machine gun gooooooooooo!

  • \,,/
