remember: tiny mammals have nervous systems similar to yours, they feel pain similar to how you do - so be gentle and don't drop them! and find a good vet if they get sick - our hamster vet was the best! <3

thats messed up :( one of my baby gerble babys died a long time ago i think i had 3 females in the cage and they smuggled it cause it didnt have any air and it was only like 2days old :( but now i have a white albino gerble that ive breeded idk what the babys will look like cause they were just born

@XxViper142000 Gerbils aren't like hamsters- The dads HAVE to help care for them, and the parents WON"T EAT THEM. The only reason a gerbil will eat its kid, is if its dead. I know, I've breed them for the last 10 years.

@m4unot You should never inbreed animals. It can cause genetic faults in babies and the babies are more likely to have something wrong with them. They can be separated into groups of females and groups of males. Separating them is better than having inbred babies.

@monkeyguyman1 fill up the tank with bedding and add lots of paper towel or toliet paper rolls. this is to help the bedding stay solid and keep tunnels from caving in. also adds better insulation imo. to help keep them warm

Having baby gerbils is so rewarding !

I am a first time breeder and my gerbil successfully gave birth to four gerbils tonight :)

They all seem healthy and are nursing. I stayed up to make sure she was okay and all seems fine. Between the first and second baby was two hours. For the third was 15 min to half an hour the fourth a good 10 to 15 minutes. She was a first time mom so I was expecting some difficulties.

She is a very good mom :)

@MrJason22607 Look it up. Review all the sites you can on it, read everything you can get your hands on. If you breed, be ready for ANYTHING. Irresponsible breeding leads to many a thing. But make sure you know EVERYTHING and are in the BEST care for the parents and the babies before you start breeding.

its a breed of a brown and a white one that would be my guess. tho i have a white and black/white gerbil parents and 2 of the babies are all black (i call them twin ninja) so they could also get their color from their grandparents i believe

Hi Boliver. My tip is to let them get used to the hand. have it in their cage and give them food and so on. Rhen be careful and calm when u pick them up. and dont hold them for to long at a start.

And why ur gerbil walk upstairs? I dont know :) Maybe they are scared of the stairs or something
