  • I think Nintendo realizes or planned that people may cheat using the pedometer and earn coins just by shaking their 3DS. That is why the coins are not worth anything except for valueless game add-ons. It isn't like the coins are worth awards like the coins in Club Nintendo. It's all a silly gimmick. It would make more sense to use something like the DS Personal Trainer pocket pedometer where it would be easier for everyone who cannot carry a 3DS everywhere they walk.
