However, I completely disagree when you say he should have signed the paper. If he did nothing wrong(in his mind), then why should he sign something that say he did? If he would've signed this admission, they would have fired him for his actions. Again, this is a case of the TT administration looking for a way to fire him. The James' family provided that.
Watch the beginning of the video. if Adam is so upset about where he was placed, why didn't he call 911 or TT security? Why did he have a cell phone with him at practice? I bet this video is not from the day in question. My gut tells me that after talking to his dad that he realized he could make this into a national story. He went back and shot the video of the "closet" and tried to make it look as dark and dreary as possible. I've coached kids like him. They never take responsibility.
. the coach got pissed and told the trainer to take him to a dark room to "recover" from his head injury since the lights were obviously bothering him so much. The coach also told the trainer to make sure the kid didn't spend his time relaxing and to put him in the room alone but to check on him every 20 minutes or so to be sure he wasn't having a good time in there.

where does it say the patient should be made to STAND and not sit or rest. It's not the dark room that is in question. Leach was punishing the kid - and is trying to pass it off as "treatment".
You need to get your facts straight!. Do a little research. Adam James was not forced to stand! It was a not a small room, but a media room. About 250 sq. ft.! The "shed" he was moved from was a garage with a fan and an ice machine. The doctor from the hospital that James was treated at provided a written statement which said Coach Leach did the right thing by keeping him out of the sun-light. Read the emails from the AD Gerald Myers & TT admins. and you'll see they wanted Leach out! BS!

ALL injured players are required to take part in practice, whether it's riding a stationary bike, walking or watching practice. Be involved in some way. He showed up without team practice gear-btw all college teams wear practice gear), an IPOD, hat on backwards, sunglasses and an attitude.
Leach did not tell the trainer where to take him. That is a fact. The trainer chose the media room and garage. The video released by Adam James has been refuted by the trainer with James. He was quoted today. Adam James' story is not true.
His concussion was officially diagnosed as MIONOR. Craig James and his son were pissed that he wasnt getting playing time and knew by embellishing this story, Leach might get fired. Im sure you have kids and you are a parent who would balme the teacher if your child got in trouble, instead of seeing the fault in your own kids behavior. This is exactly what Craig James is doing!
I am high school teacher and coach and see this type of behavior all the time. This is why I am so mad. Give it time and you will see that Leach will be vindicated and TT will be paying a lot of money. Please read the emails between the AD, Alumni and Chancellor. The guy is a bit nuts and also a liar. He knows what he did. he knows he told those trainers to put the kid in the room and to be sure he was uncomfortable. The kid wasn't checked on every 15 for his concussion, the kid was checked on every 15 minutes so that he wasn't found to be 'sitting, resting, etc..'.

Leach also put a desk on the practice field for a player who have having trouble with his grades. He made the player sit at the desk and do his work while the team practiced around him. Leach said he did nothing wrong in that instance, was not making an example of the player, and just wanted to keep the team all together. Bulls***. What Adam did was enter a smaller "electrical closet" that he was asked by the Trainer Pincock not to enter as documented in Pincock's first official statement on the incident. He chose to enter the dark room to stage a much different situation. Notice the door at the end of his phone video... He is a liar.

They already admitted to making him stand up for 2-3 hours. The people that the coach had do his deed now say it was not the proper treatment for a concussion nor was it standard treatment. The coach is not a Dr. is not qualified to handle these cases. Rather than take out his issues with the kids Dad on the Kid he should have stuck to coaching.

No, I based my last post off of Leach's own personal defense. Yes, I admit he did say that his decision to send the boy away was based offa the fact that he had a concussion, but he didn't base his case around a claim that he had very strong concern for James's well being as you are characterising. He made it very clear that he didn't like the work ethic James had, but even if he was being unfair with James it was a MILD infraction and the Tech adminstration was unquestionably draconian.

According to that affadavit, baby James was not placed in an electrical closet, in fact "Pincock said the media interview room contained an electrical closet, but he told James not to go into that room because of the noise level." This was obviously and exscuse for the administration at TTU to get rid of a coach and end a 1 1/2 year battle over money and contracts. 3 of the assistant coaches and trainers have backed Leach's story. That makes 4 people that are backing Leach and only Adam james to backup his own story. Regardless of what comes out of it. this lone is at least enough to provide reasonable doubt. I am not a TTU fan and have no allegence to Leach but I am a college football fan.

But now we see that the "shed" and "closet" were a huge garage and an interview room. Both with plenty of space. James was obviously pandering to the media with the cell phone video. In the affadvit he was told to not enter said closet by the trainer, so he was doing something against orders, that is why he didnt want anyone to know he was in there

Adam was a pawn in this game along with his Little League Dad... Both were used to oust Leach so the University didn't have to pay the man the money he was owed! Too ironic he was fired a day before receiving $800,000 and too ironic this prick had a cell phone in his pocket. This kid was lazy in all areas of his life... Now Craig James hopefully will be reduced to announcing MAC games on Tuesday nights next year. Nothing worse than being used and the James family, you were suckers...

I agree with you that Leach is arrogant. All D1 coaches are in some way. That's part of the reason they have reached that level. However, I completely disagree when you say he should have signed the paper. If he did nothing wrong(in his mind), then why should he sign something that say he did? If he would've signed this admission, they would have fired him for his actions. Again, this is a case of the TT administration looking for a way to fire him. The James' family provided that.

Watch the beginning of the video. if Adam is so upset about where he was placed, why didn't he call 911 or TT security? Why did he have a cell phone with him at practice? I bet this video is not from the day in question. My gut tells me that after talking to his dad that he realized he could make this into a national story. He went back and shot the video of the "closet" and tried to make it look as dark and dreary as possible. I've coached kids like him. They never take responsibility.

. the coach got pissed and told the trainer to take him to a dark room to "recover" from his head injury since the lights were obviously bothering him so much. The coach also told the trainer to make sure the kid didn't spend his time relaxing and to put him in the room alone but to check on him every 20 minutes or so to be sure he wasn't having a good time in there.

the admin is arrogant...bobby knight was arrogant...nearly every single coach or person in power is arrogant...he got fired 'with cause' and thats the most arrogant thing of all. the admin should have fired him 'without cause' and paid him the money that went with it.
if you read the contract, and looking at the reaction...this would have all blown over by now...but the lying James family has made it what it is now.

I don't care what kind of kid he is - I don't even care what or who said what to whom... bottom line, if Leach wasn't such an arrogant jerk, he would still be coaching. All he had to do was accomodate the Chandler at the University and sign a paper... but he refused. his refusal eventually got him fired.... not the kid.

i don't know the kid and you are probably right that he is a spoiled brat - but that doesn't give Leach the right to do what he does. He is not God - he's a coach who made a very poor decision and further more, let his arrogance and ego get in the way with the university and got himself fired. If he had just apologized and signed the papers - he would still be the coach. Stop blaming the player for the coaches actions.

where does it say the patient should be made to STAND and not sit or rest. It's not the dark room that is in question. Leach was punishing the kid - and is trying to pass it off as "treatment".

You need to get your facts straight!. Do a little research. Adam James was not forced to stand! It was a not a small room, but a media room. About 250 sq. ft.! The "shed" he was moved from was a garage with a fan and an ice machine. The doctor from the hospital that James was treated at provided a written statement which said Coach Leach did the right thing by keeping him out of the sun-light. Read the emails from the AD Gerald Myers & TT admins. and you'll see they wanted Leach out! BS!

hmmm... so if the room is 250sp ft, then it's appropiate to stick a player in there by himself to recover from a concussion. I think his sunglasses were doing the job just fine - the coach was pissed because he was in street clothes and wearing the sunglasses. Get your facts straight buddy.

Have you read or listened to any of the report or interviews? You obviously are not well-informed. ALL injured players are required to take part in practice, whether it's riding a stationary bike, walking or watching practice. Be involved in some way. He showed up without team practice gear-btw all college teams wear practice gear), an IPOD, hat on backwards, sunglasses and an attitude.

Leach did not tell the trainer where to take him. That is a fact. The trainer chose the media room and garage. The video released by Adam James has been refuted by the trainer with James. He was quoted today. Adam James' story is not true.

His concussion was officially diagnosed as MIONOR. Craig James and his son were pissed that he wasnt getting playing time and knew by embellishing this story, Leach might get fired. Im sure you have kids and you are a parent who would balme the teacher if your child got in trouble, instead of seeing the fault in your own kids behavior. This is exactly what Craig James is doing!

I am high school teacher and coach and see this type of behavior all the time. This is why I am so mad. Give it time and you will see that Leach will be vindicated and TT will be paying a lot of money. Please read the emails between the AD, Alumni and Chancellor. You will see that they were looking to fire him since last year. Please check it out. Do some research and then get back to me. Watch the Ted Liggett video showing the "shed" and electrical closet."

The punishment was because Leach hated the kid, thought he was being a wuss complaining of a concussion, and wanted to make him miserable and an example to the other players. Hell, we all know, football players who complain that their heads hurt will be treated like girls who can't handle a paper cut.

The guy is a bit nuts and also a liar. He knows what he did. he knows he told those trainers to put the kid in the room and to be sure he was uncomfortable. The kid wasn't checked on every 15 for his concussion, the kid was checked on every 15 minutes so that he wasn't found to be 'sitting, resting, etc..'.

He demoralizes players to pump himself up and keep them in their place. Go ask some of the players who are CURRENT players... The atmosphere is more like the wizard of oz... and the wicked witch is dead. The trainers and assistant coaches don't dare cross his path. The ex-players who are writing in support of him were asked to do it. They didn't volunteer.
Leach has a history of being 'crazy'. His forms of disipline are unorthodox -

Leach also put a desk on the practice field for a player who have having trouble with his grades. He made the player sit at the desk and do his work while the team practiced around him. Leach said he did nothing wrong in that instance, was not making an example of the player, and just wanted to keep the team all together. Bulls***. He is the type of coach that thinks his own excrement doesn't stink.

yeah, even the trainor said he should be here and they checked on him every 15 minutes. all his teammates have said he's lazy and doesn't work hard. I've lost all respect for Espn, the James family, and Texas Tech for making a decision without facts. We're turning into a guilty until proven inocent society. I can't believe that a brat of a kid can get away with this. I hope someone in the big 12 hires leach and he sticks it to Texas Tech.
