I hadn't finished watching the episode in japanese with eng/sub, but I did and I was wrong, there is two separate versions of this scene! I see a lot of sketchy subs and it irritates me, thats why I bought the dvd instead of watching it on the internet in the first place!

Sometimes translations come out differently. I got an Azumanga Daioh boxset and the subtitles are normally different to translations to what I see on youtube.

What are they saying instead? "Beans with Rice" is roughly accurate.  I believe that Mame Gohan (what Osaka said) is actually peas with rice though.

"Beans with Rice" shoudl be peas with rice, but that's close enough and coudl even be correct (Mame Gohan is usually peas with rice though). The "Grilled sauries seem good too" line is also accurate.
