hey russ! im 15 and im so glad your bringing back these old songs!?! can i ask what your chords were when you ended the song kinda cool at the end where they the same just faster?!
I just watched this with my 6 year old son and he thought it was very amusing. I looked it up for him because he tries to make the rhymes all the time, and only recently has he been having success. Down by the Bay was my favorite song when I was in Kindergarten, and seeing you all perform this brought the very same giggles, even though it is 16 years later.
This is fantastic! When my son was born four years ago, we were giving this little starfish that you pushed its nose and it sang this song with a different 'have you ever seen a... down by the bay'. But your versions are so much better.
You've got a great voice too. And I love how you get your kids involved in it. They must love having you around.
I just stumbled on this..and I love it...and i am new to the guitar and going to go to your website to see if i can find the chords to this and going to show my grands..thanks again
Hello, and thanks very much for watching and commenting. The chords I use for this song are A, E, A, D, A..did you ever see a banana, wearing a red bandana.... E, A

@RolandDeMbro I'm glad I could help out. Sometimes my big fingers make it hard to see the chords.

Warms my heart to see this. Thanks for keeping this song alive in the coming generations. Songs like this (Down by the Bay) were what I grew up on.

@LukeoAppalachia Thanks for the kind comment. Some people think it's a rip off to re-do older songs, but I think as you do. Keep em alive!!!

Hi Sarzkie:
thanks so much for the amazing compliment!
I unfortunately haven't written a song about my mother, but I'm way over due for it. At least that's what my mother keeps telling me.
