Thoughts choosing a college in Japan

Do you think that the racism is different for others around Japan?

A friend of mine went and he was treated very well by the people there:

he said they were very helpful and very nice to him.

So maybe it is different for everyone?

Also, is there an an age requirement for living with a host family?

I am currently 18, by the way. I hope you can answer these questions for me. Thanks! :)
