Well... If you ask me 4x GTX 580 is way too much... Look my PC is this:

- XFX Radeon Shapphire 7970 3 GB FleX, 384 Bits, PCI-E 3.0, Dx 11.1

- Intel Core i7 990x OverClocked to 5.23 GHz

- 24 GB Ram Corsair

I don`t say I don`t like like it :)) But it`s way too powerfull, my PC runs all games on Highest settings with 1080p Resolution above 90 FPS. Wich is enough ;)

@BlackClawReventoN this setup is one year old, and good luck with your cpu, 5.23 ghz, for daily use, will destroy it in a bit more than a year, regardless of temperatures, 24gb of ram, for gaming, is useless, i can play every game with a 2500k@4.8, 4 gb of ram and a single gtx 580...

@TheBig117 You're wrong. Xeon isn't ONLY for servers and are extremely powerful for all sorts of tasks. Did you know that Xbox 360 is using an older Xeon processor? There's definately a need for GTX580 if you want the best gaming performance in all games and you'll probably need more than one for beyond 1080p resolution in very demanding situations. Three and four GTX 580's is unecesarry in my opinion.

I can understand the large amounts of RAM, I myself run quadfire 5970's with 8GB of RAM and I keep hitting 7.5GB daily just in BF3, leading me to look at a 16GB kit (dual channel, can't jump to 12GB). RAM usage like that basically just comes from using antialiasing and pre-rendering frames: the video drivers store the frames in RAM.

But yer, the dual quad core cpu's, unless he does video editing or something, is just bragging rights.
