  • I wonder if this happened with tigerdirect...they're a major electronics supplier in jersey. I always buy from them because they're really cheap,and some of their accessories are super cheap, but I've never had to return anything to them thankfully. lol

  • This happened to me when I wanted to cancel my phone contract. It ended with me shouting "NO, JUST CANCEL THE GODDAMN CONTRACT" to which the guy replied "ok its cancelled" and put the phone down on me. A month later I got another bill. It was never cancelled. So I had to ring back, spoke to this woman who said she would cancel it. However, a month later another bill arrived. Rang back up, finally got it cancelled and a refund after about the 4th call. For those in the UK it was the network 3.

  • You want to know whats sad, thats probably company policy, (minus calling you an asshole of course) But to never take no for an answer, and if someone wants to return something, you try to sell them something of the same value that way the company doesn't lose any money. Its really sad companies do this too, because they are actually loosing customers this way and don't even realise it. So that dude was probably just doing his job, and thats a sad way to run a business.

  • OMG! i can't EVEN begin to tell you JUST how much i HATE customer service reps! the longest i've waited for customer service over the phone is 5 and a half hours! UGH i thought i was the ONLY one that captured that HOTMESSNESS on camers! LMAO good to know my fave two youtube people do the same thing! and do you know the minute i tell them "i have you on camera saying all fo this to me, you know that right?" they say, "i didn't agree to being on camera!" i tell em "that's YOUR policy, NOT mine!"

  • im pretty sure i know what company it is. ive heard of them doing that bullshit many time on their site reviews. I was going to purchase a d90 from them because of all their accessories but it's not worth it to go in on em on the phone like iman did lol

  • actually, very well done. I told someone I knew exactly where in the building their company's suite was and they should think a few times before talking to anyone on the phone in the manner they were. They didnt take me seriously until I described the building and the exit off 95 to get to it. I could see their skin loose any pigment through the phone. haha. It was nice.

  • You know what it is as well. When you come to them telling them that they've made a mistake and by them sending you a wrong item, they try to force as a "courtesy" which is really a tool for negligence on their part. for customer service that's completely wrong. You don't make up for your mistakes you fix them first and if you want to then send out something. That's how you do customer service I worked as a specialist for 13 years plus. Calling somebody a name like that completely uncalled for.

  • I currently work in customer service and dude, people annoy me ALL THE TIME....HOWEVER, I have NEVER called a customer an asshole! I've had customers throw stuff at me and I have yet to resort to name calling! There was no reason for that, ESPECIALLY since you weren't being at all rude to him. Wow. Super unprofessional! He needs to be fired! Good for you for keeping your composure. I would have went all kinds of crazy lol.

I'm in customer service, and I hate it, people can get so bitchy for the stupidest things, buti t's a sacrifice I have to make now to put myself through school and end up doing what I WANT to do. Please don't be quick to judge people that way, most of the time they don't have an option.

  • but you know what, everyone has a choice and the freedom to make a choice. i worked in retail so i know a bit about customer service and i understand people snapping for no damn reason, but the thing is i never snapped at anyone back because its in my job description to deal with their shit.

    im not saying that everyone doesnt have their breaking points but the fact of the matter is if u dont like people dont go into customer service! thats like someone who cant stand kids working at a daycare!!

  • There are so many disreputible online camera stores - they do just as they did to you. We learned our lesson when we got a smokin' deal on a new video camera and then when they couldn't "upsell" us, they cancelled our order.

    Now, we just order from B&H Photo Video or Amazon. Never had a problem with either and easy to return things. Live and learn.

  • I'm lurving this! I absolutely have no tolerance for crappy customer service. One way to better the situation is by asking the to repeat their name when their answer the phone- this way they know that your not some next fool and you are keeping tabs on the conversation.

  • I Am in shock! I Am in the customer service industry (hotel). I could not believe this person called you a name. I dealt with very rude people, but never got close to that point. You were not even rude or anything. You give the customer what they want unless it is the whole building. This should have never lasted longer than five minutes.

He also knew he was being recoded and that it was proof and clear you just wanted one thing and didn't want to spend anymore money. It's great that you stood up to him and didn't let him intimidate you into buying more.

  • I could never be a salesperson because the ones that are the most successful are the ones that are the most aggressive. I could never talk to people like that. I pride myself though that every job I have had I have treated the customer with respect. My last full time job I had several people tell me I was the best person they talked to in the company because I was patient with them and didn't push them off the phone. I especially couldn't be a bill collector that job is the worst.

  • I just got the same exact cam (Canon Vixia HFS11) from B&H in NYC. Pretty cool but my PC editing system doesn't take the .MTS files. Hopefully, the new MacBook Pro, which I just got and am just learning how to use, will be able to take them directly. Looking forward to seeing your new vids!

  • Big of you to accept his apology, but it would be even bigger if he had apologized because he was actually sorry and knew what he did was wrong, and THAT motivated his apology, rather than it being the fact that you (rightfully) threatened his job.

    My only concern is that others will do business with them, and after being fed up with getting the runaround, end up with the same, or another hostile employee.
