who's idea was it to use the wing in the first place? they already knew how these stock cars go airborn without the wing unlike indycar's, f1 car's, and other race cars, did they not know that the wing would just create more lift.

@flubber342 the wing actually creates the same exact amount of lift as a spoiler does when the car is turned backwards. The aero numbers from the wind tunnel and testing are nearly identicle between today's spoiler and the wing they used.... both in going forwards and backwards. That's why you saw AJ easily blow over even with the spoiler on. What's made the real difference this season is the shark fin. The wing was never the problem... it was just a skapegoat.

@dirtydeeds76 actually the main difference maker has been the shark fin, not the change to the spoiler. AJ easily got airborne last year even with the spoiler.

As a long time Harvick fan, this scared me to death, seeing Newman's tail hit the windshield and land on the hood. Seeing crashes like these are cool, and i like them. But only if the drivers are ok and everything is situated at the end.

nascar had self pwnage cause they made the mojority of the race single file with there no bumping in the turns and the 2 flips in the racehad nothing 2 do with bumping in the turns so all nascar accomplished was poing all there fans and showung themselfs up

look close at Newman`s & Edwards cars when they turn around, they don`t start coming off the ground until the roof flaps come up.

@iFluxuated lol you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about do you? They've had roll cages in every series since the 95 fatal crash of Russell Philips (RIP) at Lowes. I cant find anything on the internet where these so called experts say the roof was in jeopardy of collapsing.
