  • owenstechworld(dot)tk custome guides for computer building

  • What is the Video Card Model and where can I get it because I am building a Browsing PC and want a basic Video Card.

  • @AnimalKlips The one in this video is a Radeon HD 4850. There are newer and more basic cards available. What do you want it to do and how much were you looking to spend?

  • @hpcbdvd About 150 bucks for a Video Card and also I will use it like a Desktop I can surf the web on.

  • @AnimalKlips For $150 you can get a Radeon 6850 which is actually a very nice card that will do surfing, HD video and play most current video games very well. If you don't care about games you can safe some money and get a card for around $50 to 75 that will let you surf. Take a look at a Geforce GT 430 or 520, or a Radeon 6670. All of which will do everything but gaming very well. You can use them for gaming you would have to turn down the visual settings a bit to get a decent speed.

  • If it doesn't fit in the hole try the other kind, that's what she said.

  • Can you take the clothes peg off your nose and say it all again please?

  • @BIackMoonCGI Good one. Ha ha ha.

  • WHY THE F**K WOULD I PAY FOR THIS WHEN I CAN JUST WATCH NEWEGG's TUTORIAL???

  • @GamerIDGoesHere Ours are more in depth, than Neweggs, talking much more about the features and specs you need to look for when choosing your parts. Our installation videos show much more of the process with closeups so you can see every step. Our BIOS and Windows setup videos are more complete as well. You no longer have to pay to watch our videos. On our website which is listed in this videos description you can now watch all of our videos for free. They are all coming to YouTube as well.

  • @hpcbdvd Oh, Very Nice :D I guess U just got a new sub! This Guy! :D

  • Stooped watching at 0:03

  • @MinttyDizzy get an AMD phenom 2 six core processor a 1090T or 1055T alot better and worth the money, virually the same price as the quad core amd offers.

  • This is really well done. Your message is communicated very clearly! Subscribed ;)

  • @MinttyDizzy I say get he i5 2400 but also get the 6850..... :D

  • @necrocoprophilia Ah, you be trollin.

  • @necrocoprophilia A Macbook air? What the fuck are you on?

  • @necrocoprophilia A macbook are you kidding me for the money youve spent on your mac book you could build a pc that would play every single game on maxed out settings for half the price that macbook

  • ddr2 ram, lol

and an i5 really isnt necisary for playing games almost no game can utilize more than one core

  • @austinriny You are wrong.

  • ddr2 ram, lol

  • @MinttyDizzy I lol'd at your post because i have pretty much the exact setup that your asking about. I have the asrock a770de+, amd phenom x6 1075T, HIS Radeon HD 6870 it plays every single game i have maxed out on a 24 inch acer @1920x1080 a OCZ Fatal1ty 550W Modular Gaming Power Supply. All for just a little under 500 dollars. I already had the monitor and ddr2 ram and hdd havn't had any trouble with any part i have.Been running it pretty much 24/7 for nearly 4 months

  • @MinttyDizzy absolutely no doubt about it, i5.

  • @MinttyDizzy Game performance is mostly tied to the graphics card so that 6870 is the way to go.

  • wow i never thought you could have two graphic cards!, do they have to be same model and brand for it to work?

  • @hayeslikestojam111 They do have to be the same model. The motherboard must support it and the power supply needs to have enough wattage to power both cards. We cover using two or more video cards in the complete set of Home PC Builder videos which are available on the website listed in this videos title. As well as Amazon and eBay.

  • why have 2 graphics cards??

  • @TheProRussianGamer It help with games. You combine 2 or more video cards together to increase performance.

  • @hpcbdvd but i can install one and it will work right??

  • @TheProRussianGamer Yes one will work fine. If you don't care about 3d games you can get a motherboard with on-board video so you don't need a separate video card. You can still play online games on websites.

  • thank you for this video

  • Are you microsoft Sam's brother?

  • @GMGvanS I am not his brother, but what would his name be?

  • @hpcbdvd Microsoft Peter sounds right.

  • @NoriesW fuck that's interesting

  • Comment removed

  • @Ninjarni i agree

  • 0:36 ddr2 with core i7? you should probably annotate ddr3, you got it right in the description.

  • @thebeetalls I think you're the 3rd person to point that out. That was a typo we corrected in the videos that are on our website and on the DVD. We posted this video before the error was found and there is no way to simply update the video here on YouTube.

  • @hpcbdvd Which is exactly why i suggested you ANNOTATE the correction, that way people wouldn't repeatedly correct you.

  • @thebeetalls Done

  • Grreat video!

  • It helped me to learn English topic ( I'm from Ukraine)

  • you must spend a lot of money for this video!

    thanks very much! :D

you sound like a robot dude :D

  • MICROSOFT SAM!?!?!?!

  • it sounds like you're a robot :D

  • This is the greatest set of videos! For someone like me, just learning, it's very difficult to find a site that covers these basics. Experienced users seem to balk at the "robotic sound." Frankly, I like the fact that these folks take the time to talk "succinctly" yet "completely" covering basic as well as detail but WITHOUT assuming the listeners understands the lingo used by others who've done this before. CONGRATS to these folks! Thumbs up for homepc build.com.

  • What a great monotonous voice you have.

  • i want one

  • I have that case

  • you got curly hair and glasses?

  • @Wint3rMetal My hair is naturally curly and as it gets longer it shows more. I switched from contacts to glasses.

  • Heck yeah, computers is where it's at.

  • you have got to be the laziest fucker in the world to have to use a power screwdriver

  • @oblivion234brown If that is true I am guilty. Who else is with me?

  • @hpcbdvd im not

  • lol "if the screw doesn't fit then consider using the other size" btw thx i got my pc built it cost me $2172

  • the guy sounds like a history teacher

  • when i see this video i tought... How noob is it possible to be? lol

  • what happened to your voice

    its like a robot speaking

  • @lakshayful No. It. Is. Not

  • @lakshayful yeah he is

  • this guy sounds like a nerd!!....

  • @hmongboy9161 But this guy helps us.

  • @hmongboy9161

Ya got a problem with nerds? :)

  • Build a Personal Computer Computer?

  • I have a Creative X-Fi PCI express sound card, X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional Series... what does the Hd audio from my case do? and does this card support front panel?

  • @tommy714pham There are audio connections on the front of the case. Usually these are for a microphone and headphones. The HD Audio cable connects these to the audio components of your computer. This can be connected to the motherboard if it has built in sound or to your add-on x-fi sound card.

  • @tommy714pham If you have the compatible connector it will be on the side of your soundcard as you look at it installed in your system (front panel)

The HD audio is an inferior codec which is built in on your case. Your Xfi sound card is better.

  • I have a sound blaster x-fi pcie card would I plug my HD audio from my case to the sound card?

  • @tommy714pham That is exactly what you need to do. It has a HD audio header. Connecting the cable before you install the card is easiest.

  • @hpcbdvd ty

  • that should be a bit expensive T^T

  • any suggestions for a CPU cooler for AMD?

  • @bobthetwit2 The Freezer 64 Pro is the AMD specific version of the Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2. For the money I don't think you can beat it.

  • @hpcbdvd thanks, ill look into that.

  • @hpcbdvd thanks, ill look into that. On amazon, it is not actually sold by amazon or its discintinued or something. the rev.2 would still work for a phenom x4 AM3, right? thanks.

  • @bobthetwit2 ok, I read some reviews, and one guy said G.SKILL Ripjaws, with tall heatsinks on the ram, would not fit, so I guess this is out of the picture. I have this ram, with the taller than other tall heatsinks. How is the Cooler Master 212 Plus?

  • @bobthetwit2 Yes the rev.2 comes with an AM3 mounting bracket.

  • @hpcbdvd ok. I will probably get the Thermaltake Blue Orb II or the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus. I like the Thermaltake, but the CoolerMaster one is cheaper and has many more reviews.

  • u r amazing at building computers and u do very good components all my friends like ur videos

can you do me a favour: in amazon if i give you my wishlist full of pc parts could you add what i need and what things iv done wrong

  • @coolpuppetmastr Yes. Send me your list. I can't put my email address here, YouTube doesn't allow it. You can send it to my YouTube inbox or go to the website listed in the title and description of this video and you'll find my email address in the Support and Community section of the site.

  • nice work dude, hope to hear ur voice in portal 2 :D

  • @crydepunkmuffin Glados's Husband !

  • @bobthetwit2 LOL

  • if a screw dosent fit in the whole try another kind. shut the helll up and go bor someone to death

  • @Honda7980 Learn how to spell.

  • This is one of the most exciting videos I have ever seen. I feel like I'm learning the safety features on an airplane...

  • @VitoMan999 Thanks. I strive to make things riveting.

  • would be nice to find a vidoe that show the hole thing put togther then shows u how to set it up in the beginning i have to read ur manual for the mother wen u fisrt turn it on u have to go threw a few setting then after that u pop in the windows 7 disk in order for u to install the operating system

  • @sonicxlc123 This is just a sample video. On our website, listed in the title and description of this video we have a complete set of build your own computer videos called Home PC Builder 2010.

  • can u pls help me im a huge newbie how do i decide what video cards and stuff and do i really need them

  • @13attleflame Unless you're going to play games you can just use the video thats built into the motherboard on most low end systems. When I say games I mean the 3D sort. Games like Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Bioshock, etc. You can still play online 2D games. If you do want play 3D games a Nvidia GTX 460 or ATI 5770 will give you the best bang for your buck. You can find both for between $150 and $200.

  • Thank you explain this very cool, LIKE ;D

  • Will a computer run with everything but no software??

  • @Tacocat21 I'm not sure what you're asking. You do need an operating system. Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit is what I recommend for new computers.

  • @hpcbdvd wow thanks for information on how to build a computer ground up, now i'm going to go buy the parts to build this thing and there's nothing you can do about it!!! muhahahahahaha

  • @ARKSOLDIER7 Thats the spirit!

  • hey thats my case

  • stevens hawking ?

  • why do you hold on to your nose when talking

  • easey lession good job u make a complete noob to lock professional

  • lol sounds like microsoft sam doing a comm on this lol

  • This dude makes me want to sleep.

  • I need to know the space that all the parts ocupie (all together, more or less), because I am getting one from the US and taking it back to Europe. Also any security suggestions for the packaging woild be appreciated.

  • @sssenseiii That depends on the packaging of each part. The box these components came in, minus the case, was about 2ft x 3ft by 2ft.

  • you sound like a robot, do you always speak like this or are you doing it for this video, if you are, please don't.

  • If my case does not have a case speaker (HD Audio), where can I buy one and how to install it on my case, a CM Storm Sniper BE? By the way, it seems that some MoBos do have a HD Front Panel Audio speaker with a 10-pin connector or a AC'97 Front Panel Audio speaker with a 10-pin connector, and I am not able to find where to buy these system speakers. Again, does anyone know? Thanks.

  • @orestesdd The CM Storm Sniper doesn't have a PC speaker. This is very different from an HD audio or AC97 connection. Both of these are for connecting the sound on the motherboard to the front audio ports on the case. The CM Storm Sniper does have a HD audio cable you can connected to the motherboard. An actual PC speaker is just for making system beep sounds that you hear when the computer powers on. It isn't necessary.

  • @hpcbdvd I know that the system speaker is for beeping, but if I build my own PC, I will need a speaker to let me know if I am connecting the mobo and everything else correctly and to debug any problems. The thing is that I am not able to find "system speakers" with these 9-pin connectors. I was googling it and the only ones I can find are the old 4-pin connector "system speakers". So this is my concern, for I am planning to build my own computer, and I do think I will need the speaker.

  • @orestesdd The PC speaker does connect to a 4 pin header on the motherboard. It's actually 2 pins with space for 2 more pins in between them. This header is right next to where you connect the power, hdd and reset cables from the front of the case to the motherboard. Your motherboard may come with a PC speaker, but if not you can buy one of the 4 pin ones you see online.

  • @hpcbdvd Sorry but both motherboards which I am considering to buy has a 9-pin interface, and it does not seem to be where you said it is. The two motherboards in questions are ASUS sabertooth X58 and Gigabyte ga-x58a-ud3r. In both of these mobos, there are 9 pins to connect the so-called front audio. In the ASUS case, it is found on page 2-34 and for Gigabyte on the top of page 31. Sorry if I seem stupid, but this will be my first build.

  • @orestesdd I downloaded the motherboard manual for the Asus sabertooth and it does have a 4 pin connection for the pc speaker. Its on page 2-36 of the manual. The Gigabyte board will have the 4 pin connection as well. The 4 pin pc speaker header and the hd audio header are two different things.

  • @hpcbdvd Thank you for clarifying that. I see them in both manuals.

  • where can i get everything for me to build a computer in one big package

  • @TOMMY95215 We have lists of components on our website that link to Newegg. The parts in the lists are from $500 to $2300. All the parts in each list are compatible.

  • is there away just to order everythin u have because i am really into this stuff

  • @mith326 I can't post the link here, YouTube doesn't allow it. If you go to the website listed in this videos title there is a link at the top right of the site for Buy Now. You can check the options you want to buy and payment is secure.

  • Hey can you help me theres one part I dont got in the brain I dont have the Hard drive or this big thats the bottom of the 2 cd injecters Im just missing alot of stuff all the stuff is in there the motherbord.

  • @vdubkingvincent I'm sorry. I don't understand what you are asking.

  • @hpcbdvd I think its the hard drive

  • congratalations and thnx for the assist that u are providing to to the viwers of ur video! i am making my pc and the only problem of mine is how to connect the front panel! thnx again!

  • You sound like the tranquil from Dragon Age: Origins.

  • DDR2 will not work with that Mobo...

  • @hsew You are right. I think I said this in an earlier comment, but we uploaded this video to YouTube before we realized that mistake. That is actually DDR3 memory in the video. We corrected the mistake in the video on our site and on the DVD with the videos you can purchase from our site. Unfortunately there is no way to replace a video on YouTube with an updated version.

  • Whats the different between pci express 16x and 2.0. I want tto get a video card and its a 2.0 pci card HD 5770 and my mother board has a 16x will it work?

  • @TheMrMeff If you're motherboard just says 16x it probably has a PCI Express 1.0 16x slot. PCI Express 2.0 is backwards compatible with 1.0 slots so it will work.

  • @MusicKnower1 Its an Antec Nine Hundred case.

  • Wow this guys sounds like the blue head from GLaDos in Portal.

  • @MusicKnower1 The motherboard is an Asus P6T Deluxe.

  • @MusicKnower1 It's called the case, chassis, box, enclosure and probably a few more things not coming to mind right now.

  • sry to bother but i'm new to pc building and i'm just wondering about this set-up is it a nice combo is it bad will i find problems..etc cheers in advance

  • could it be that your PC is slower when the power supply hasn't enough power?

  • @powerpoint1357924680 No. Low power from a power supply can not make the computer slower. The symptoms of a power supply not having enough power are the computer not power on at all or the system rebooting or shutting off when it is doing something that takes a lot of power such as playing 3d games that use the computers video card a lot.

  • @powerpoint1357924680 the power supply CAN make your computer slower. because if you have low power your mother board / hard drive / graphic card etc. will get warmer than it should be...

  • Does the motherboard need a certain amount of voltage? I checked it and it said it supports AMD CPU with 140w does that mean it counts as voltage for the power supply?

  • The voltage does come from the power supply.

  • @hpcbdvd Does it mean I have to get a higher watt power supply in order to fufill its need because power supplies are pretty pricy once they go above 650w

  • @Daxter609 A 650W power supply is plenty for the computer shown in this video. How many watts your system needs depends on the components you choose.

  • Do you have to install the exact Memory Standard for a motherboard? I understand the ddr2 and ddr3 thing but lets say this:

    Motherboard specs: MSI 790FX GD70

    Memory standard DDR3 2133 OC

    Does that mean I can't use a DDR3 1600

RAM stick on my motherboard? If I can does it mean i have to go to my bios and overclock it to 2133 or do I have to buy a RAM stick thats 2133?

  • Go to the MSI website and find the MSI 790FX GD70. Under the specs you'll see it can take 1600MHz RAM.

  • @hpcbdvd Thanks I thought I had to go out and spend 300 more dollars for 2 2133 ram sticks thanks alot man :D ifI didn't ask you I would have spend a total of 300 dollars. Newegg really needs to put up ALL specs so people don't get confused and end up with expensive hardware they didn't want or need. Also they need to stop making combo deals with hardware that doesn't work with each other. All i'm worried about is if MSI has RAID drivers for Window 7
