Awakening Anders was comic relief. Comic relief are almost NEVER romanceable. And they usually die. The best Anders could have hoped for without this character change is a stereotypical death. Also, is it so hard to understand why he's so depressed now? I mean, he's been dragged through some pretty heavy shit, and Justice made him realize that he'd been a selfish prick about his fellow mages. Besides, I saw this coming. Justice started planting the seeds of rebellion in Anders in Awakening.

I know everyone says Anders is gay- but to be honest, the animation makes his head look like he's going to kiss someone shorter then him- aka- the female Hawke. When they do these scenes, the animation isn't edited no matter who your character model is- which means the animators probably worked assuming he was straight, even though the option is open regardless.

This scene was so cute. You have to do companion Quests in order to get to this part. You have to help him with Dissent, all I will say is save often and try different sayings. Before and After the Deep Roads you have to be willing to help out fellow mages. I'm a sap for cute happy endings/ romances in dragon age. :)

So far, Anders is about 65-70percent "friend scale." Which quests make his 'like points' go up? Before or after the deep roads expedition?

@mariesadler Really all you have to do is support him and support the mages. You also have to complete ALL his companion quests, his conversations and give him his gift. Its not nearly as hard as it sounds. When you complete a romance with someone, they get new clothing.

@mariesadler I had Anders at 100 approval by the end of Act 1; you have to keep him in your party to maximize your dialogue possibilities, and save the game a lot in case you make a dialogue mistake, so you can redo it. Just side with the mages at all times, and do what Justice would approve of (i.e. don't screw people over or kill innocents, etc.). Once you get to 100 approval, you're locked in, and then you can do whatever the hell you want and he won't approve or disapprove.

@thelightbringer1708 because while the chantry does do some wrong things, the Grand Cleric and all the people in the chantry at the time were innocent. he also caused Meredith to take the last step towards insanity. meredith was harsh, but she was never outright evil until the very end, she even says (if you use the "investigate" dialogues) that she regretted doing this, but that it was neccessary.
