@joojoosasa Common sense. The SLR is 300k supercharged V8. You don't think Mercedes would have boosted it up to 800 HP if it wasn't a good idea? An RS6 turning out 25% more power than stock with no real upgrades to the engine to handle the increase is going to need a new engine every 6 months.

@thegizmoguy1 No matter how you swing it, a simple ECU reflash and tune and Exhaust modifications will not shorten the length of your engine. If they brought the boost up a bunch, then yeah, the life would shorten, but not from just a tune and exhaust. I work for a place called DBPerformance in Rogers, MN. I have tuned plenty of Volkswagen/Audi motors without doing any internal work, and they've lasted just fine.

Well, where the hell do you think the RS6 gained all that power from? I'll give you one guess and it aint just from the exhaust and tuning to optimize the A/F ratio and timing. BOOST!!! And pumping up the boost is a great way to blow seals on Audi 2.0 and 2.7T's, so id assume the 4.2T is just as if not more prone to that issue.

Went to police a local officals son had it, he had no chance to get it back! Stopping distances mean nothing if the brakes don't work and there is traffic at the interesction with an inocent family going through the lights for example..
