@w8y9 It's a program they create themselves, they will not give it away, sell it, or share it, and nobody has an exact copy online anywhere.

@w8y9 C++ is what makes up almost everything in a computer system. It's what makes up your web browser, it's what makes up World of Warcraft. It's a language, not a program. You can download various programs that support development of C++ language, however. And DirectX is what makes up the graphics. C++ tells DirectX what to show. DirectX is already on your machine.

It's Blizzard's own world building program. They mentioned it's name in the Blizzcon 2010 Art Panel. Check those videos out, they can be found on Youtube.

I can answer that question, the application is called "WoW Edit" and is only available to Blizzard employees who need it.

The application is constantly improving throughout the patch and expansion cycle.

@r4ngepker for coding they use a program that they've created by themselves. for art they use photoshop with some extension also created by themselves. for more info on what software they use i suggest you watch the starcraft 2 behind the scenes dvd.

They did an amazon job with the quests in this... I've mostly done 80+ areas and there amazing...done a the first couple for worgen and goblin and there great but Vashj'ir is I think the best zone in the entire history of wow...loved every second of it.
