I feel that the directors are dipshit and want to keep the show going. If pokemon had the seasons with Misty and Brock alone, it would be more logical. Though since he goes and meets 4 different girls 2 different guy to accompany, well how exactly did he come up with them? He barely got a taste of life.

I think they kept Ash at age 10 because of the manga. His counterpart, Red, fulfilled his dream at 16. They want to better Ash but they don't want to finish the show because of ratings.
