Living within a mile of a nuclear power plant for 50 years gives you less radiation (from the power plant) than eating one banana once does (from the banana). Of course, there's always background to account for. FURTHERMORE, a coal power plant puts out far more radiation per kilowatt hour than a nuclear plant, due to radioactive impurities in the coal itself.

LOL i think the best place to build a prison is either on top of a hill away from town, or on an island out in the middle of nowhere.

I also think its safe to build Nuclear Power Plants at the edges of your city limits away from town to lessen the effects of nuke meltdowns ( if you choose to use nuke plants at all ).

But this is very funny! To bad the space orb did not returns in later SimCity games. :(

Ironically that's sort of similar to my neighborhood, sans the nuclear power plant. When I went to high school, it was across the street from the jail which was conveniently located next door to the hospital.

Oh, and the "pollution" that comes out of the top of the cooling towers on a nuclear power plant, you know the big white clouds that look like smoke rising out of them, that's steam. Created by super heated water that is used to cool down the core and keep it from getting overheated. That's why nuclear power plants can only be built by rivers and lakes.

Contrary to popular belief, you can't get radiation poisoning from living near a nuclear power plant. The concrete and lead barriers around the nuclear core are simply too thick. Hell, the chances of getting cancer while working in one or minimal at best. I should know. I've worked in the Hanford power plant for 6 years designing its network database.

lol, I put on the south side of one of my city in Sim City 4 tall buldings around air ports, lots of grid locks, Nukeular power plants by shools, and tons of other fails, then on the north, there was a large gap between them and filled it with jails and prisons right next to houspitals, the tax was 100% and no funding for the public services,then I lit the Nukeular power plants, turning them into nukes and the south side was killed in half a sim day, the the radeioactive waves killed the north.
