Excellent time bro. I sum 4 1st marathon is something we all aspire for. My first one was this past January in a whopping 4:54. You must have been running an insane pace until the wall, and I think that's necessary because you're probably going to struggle the last 5 miles regardless so get there as soon as possible. I realize it's late, but congratulations and I hope you're still running. I know I am.
well done young man. tanks for posting. my first marathon was in anchorage alaska, in my mid 40s. i tried hard to break five hours but finished in 5:09. it was a lot more fun than i'd expected. best of luck to you.
i really enjoyed this video i think that when i saw the look on your face when you saw your mom and dad it made me feel the same way i really truely enjoyed this and i hope you can take your running to a another level
All the best in your first marathon! You'll never forget the experience. My only piece of advice would be to nail down your nutrition - see what works in training leading up to the marathon, then have a plan and stick to it during the marathon itself. That's what killed me when I hit the wall - I simply ran out of gas. It wasn't physical pain or mental toughness, I just didn't have any more energy.
Most of all, have fun! There's nothing like your first.
that is so awesome. good job for going under a 4 on your first marathon. that was my original plan until i realized that my legs super give out on me, so a 4:30 will make me sufficiently happy.
I will be the 1st to comment your video, great video diary, awesome achivement, you never hit the wall when you are actually still running to the finish line, awesome 1st time finish!! I am still working on my sub-4 finish. Keep on runnin!!!
Trust me, I hit the wall HARD! I even laid down in the middle of the road on the median around mile 23 and closed my eyes for about 30 secs, until a course monitor came up and asked if I was alright. I then got up and continued (wish I'd gotten that on video!). I only ran again the last mile or so to the finish line, to make sure I'd have a good finish photo! :)
Keep on going, you'll get your sub-4! Just never give up. Best of luck to you!
Good job my friend. I hope you do some more marathons.
