  • Are the sizes 8, 10, 12, 14 toms, 22' bass drum and 14' snare?

  • man i have been watching you since 2 days u put this up. thanks man. good job on the rush covers

  • Awesome drumming and great cover. Can i ask where your friend purchased the Neil Peart hat? Ive been looking for one for a long time and cant seem to find one.

  • Good stuff man!! The only spots that could be refined are the two 4-note grouping fills (the one that comes right after the first bass fill (~1:48), and the one at the end of the song). There's a good video that breaks it down for ya:

    Search: harber 4 grouping

  • DUDE! AMAZING! I want to learn this song, but it sounds so complicated. Any pointers?

  • you have Neil's hat! :D

  • thats not exactly right

  • is that electric kit where you ipod is a first act?

  • nice stick throw fail

  • Do you use a Double Pedal ? ... and by the way PHENOMENAL Cover !!!

  • @LedZeppelinRules1231 Ah ha, your obvisouly not a drummer.....too funny

  • Best Cover I've seen of this song on Youtube! Keep it up. The only thing complaint is that, that kit could use a little more Sabian (or Paiste) and a little less or no Zildjian :P

  • awesome drum set and good cover

    thumbs up

  • AMAZING

  • I like how you actually play good and have personality!!

  • where do you get the hat i luv it

  • thats mad good man!!

  • Damn kid. This is by far the best YYZ cover I have ever heard.

  • Thank you for this video man!

  • wow nice job!!

  • Like if you noticed the Neil Peart style headwear

  • 1:32 ... I think that was great ... but there a quite a few missing details

  • Hey can i ask a question im trying to mic a drumset for my band how do you make it sound so nice. Great cover btw, you fucking rock

  • dude. this guy is sick

  • damn, when i cover this song i never have my splash so i hav to improvise!!!

  • nice neil hat

  • man you're a brilliant drummer, i love your use of ghost note, i barely noticed them until i looked at what you were playing like at 1:25 on the snare.

i'm currently learning drums (about 3 months into it) i can play this song up to the mid-chordal section (with the disco-style high hats lifts), however i can't get ghost notes right or how to accent them.

got any suggestions on how to do ghost notes? XP

  • I see you busted out with the bass drum triplets in the main verse. Reminds me a lot of when they played YYZ in Rio, Peart did that same thing. Good job man.,

  • Was your bass around 45 seconds single or double pedal?

  • @Nopulse1337 - Single pedal

  • @thx1227 I assume you've mastered the heel-toe technique? Got any pointers for a heel-toe beginner? I have Jared Falk's bass drum secrets video, but I would like more input. Thanks!

  • wheres the subscribe button?

  • dude the hat is awesome, ive been thinking of doing something like that myself but i thought id better leave it to the people who can actually play rush like yourself, great cover man!

  • lol neil pert hat nice

  • @crazeddrummer92

ok. i never said it sounded bad. i just said its not a great cover. he threw way too much bass in there. i was saying that peart has the right amount of bass, and when you throw more double bursts in there its just overkill

  • dude, way too much bass, your sabotoging pearts work, you dont just do that to rush songs, add a little bass improv, it doesnt sound right.

  • good job my man

  • Technically amazing... though i do agree with some comments that the snare drum is a little different for this song (not saying its bad). Anyway, amazing cover.

  • beautiful kit my man!

  • BEAST!!!!!!! LOL dude you are awesome i love this and the Tom Sawyer Cover

  • hey my birthday is at the

    18th november :)

  • whatssogreat about paiste anyway?

  • the part around 0:50 really didnt need all that dynamics. kinda ruined it for me.

  • He emphasized the snare drum. So what? The rest was really accurate.

  • no, i meant the beat. simple is better, really.

  • Sorry, I thought you meant the snare...

The bass is supposed to be that way.

  • Nah it isn't. It doesn't have that many bass notes. The whole cover is amazing though, that's for sure.

  • screw off dude it sounded awesome.

  • good job man

  • Sabian is better than zildjian..... though Sabian is just the company of someone in the Zildjian family who got mad that they weren't gonna inherit the zildjian company.

  • I do agree i prefer sabain much more but its all opinion about what cymbals you use. I love the paiste chinas

  • dat wuz awesome

  • That was amazing!

I have a question is the roll at 2:47 single or double stroke?

  • @OrganicTrichome - Thanks! It's a single stroke roll.

  • single

  • i would reccomend sabian aax for the performance set its around 600 dollars and thats a ride a crash and hihats

  • u need to tune ur snare for that!!~!

  • EPIC!

  • By the way, im looking to buy some new cymbals in a few months, I have around a $650, $700 budget, and I at least need to replace my ride, 1 crash, and my hi hats. While I do like Zildjian, I do prefer Sabian. Any Ideas?

  • I would suggest the CB drum cymbals there around 75$ at long and mquade and they sound awseome. pick them up no im jus screwin around wit you LOL

  • sabian has failed my requirements on countless occasions. i won't accept anything other than zildjian.

  • i disagree i think every sabian series beats the rival zildjian cymbal, with the exception of the zildjian K to sabian aa

  • I haven't been impressed with the sound of most of Sabian's line. Even the new AAX's just seem like expensive B8's. Not sure why, but they come off too tinny and high-pitched. The older Zildjian stuff has too traditional of a sound.. So I use the newer K Custom Darks for my hats and ride--Paiste Signatures/Sound Formulas for my crashes. The sounds meld together nicely and sound gorgeous in the studio. I also like the K Custom Dark crashes. Hands down better sounding than Sabians.

  • wow very nice

  • i love you kit exept the snare

  • whats wrong with the snare?

  • its like.. em, some kind of rensonace thing or something, its like POW-ooe

  • what do you mean?? The drumhead is a hydraulic, so it does sound a bit unique

  • I guess, but personally I kinda like it

  • yeah me too, I actually amazingly prefer a clear head on my snare than a coated, I just like it, cuz i got a Clear REmo Cs on my snare, and it sounds really good to me lol

  • lol, nice

  • @Rockinnsk8inallday: Heh, i hate playing with a clear snare head, it's not that I don't like the sound or the feel, I just think it looks wrong :p.

  • Can you do a cover with he "mini electric drum"???

  • Dude, you powned. o_O

  • Nice job dude love it

  • u ppl dissin this guy bout the bass pedal should stop. neil peart did alot of showboating himself. but u should tighten the snare a bit. but this is really good

  • Your bass has an amazing sound. tighten your snare a little and it'd be perfect. love your setup

  • sweet at 3:32

  • sick,

  • really good, but the snare doen't sound that good

  • Don't like the bassdrum things you're doing, keep it clean

  • dont like you're face! idk just thought id say that

  • Just trying to make him improve what his doing, there's nothing wrong with the overall drumming but when he's doing that double-kick pedal thing it ruins alot of a great song..

  • Pure Greatness!

  • wow man you actually IMPROVED on the greatest drummer of all time amazing job!

  • hmmm except tht neil peart makes stuff like this up, he didnt copy off some other guy.

  • didnt say he did i was saying this guy made it sound better he did an amazing job. lol bet ur not even a drummer

  • nice "neil peart as an old guy" hat

  • i really like this cover, it's like you added your own little flavour to it

  • and i love how the majority of this song is played on the ride cymbal

  • SUBBED!!!!!!

  • How long did it take to learn it?

  • This is absolutely the best cover.. This video deserves so many more views! At least like 1 or 2 millions!

    It's so flawless!

  • I agree absolute precision 5/5 faves

  • the lighting and everything may have changed but transition was smooth

  • geez...this sounds almost exactly like neil peart. especially the roll at 3:47

  • nice cover man but just microscopicaly early with the bass, im still workin on that to. And props to a friggin awesome set

  • you sir, are a badass

  • Holy crap...You're unreal and unbelievably wicked. I'm sending everyone your link ;D

    100/5 *

  • It's a Tama Superstar, though I'm actually not sure what wood it is.

  • nice sticks niel peart signatures?? i have the same

  • you are amazing i tried covering this song before, it's mad hard. excellant job!

  • BEAST

  • ur absoultly unreal

  • that is badass dude

  • dooode!!!! u got the hat for it lol

  • Wow holy beast i never realized there was so much freakin bass pedal, but its neal peart, DUH! Great sounding toms, but i dont really like your snare it sounds wierd to me but still awesome

  • great vids man. im a drummer myself and you got some serious talent.

  • i think i luv ya D:

  • haha...I guess just the obvious one...practice. Just try your best to make the practice fun. Playing along with your favorite music is definitely one good way to do that...

  • What drum heads?

  • Remo Pinstripes on the toms, Clear Emperor on the snare.

  • Omg, you roll like a beast, i love it 10/5

  • good first one

  • clear snare drumhead pretty coo ;)

  • your putting extra bass drum beats in their, but i love it. it gives it extra feel. nicely played. im goin to be puttin vids of me playin up fairly soon, so keep an eye out and tell me whatcha think. 5/5

  • Remo Pinstripes all around.

  • how old are you

  • 19.

  • very nice man, whats your set?

  • Vintage Tama Superstar. Not sure what year though...

  • all he needs is a china

    very nice job though

  • Toms sound great man

  • I am a guitarist and It would be awesome to jam this one out with you! I have not come across a talented drummer like you in years. If you live in the NY tri-state area and you want to play some Rush tunes, let me know.

  • Greatness!!

  • Tom toms sounds orgasmic... i'm in love... lol..

  • sounds nice ... but your playing the song wrong in the second hi hat part and the whole solo section is wrong you got skills just listen to the music

  • your drums sound sweet !!! except for the snare tune it a little different

  • Get a freakin' sweet pearl export set. And zildjian cymbals. :3

If you could afford all that, anyways...

  • :) awesome!

  • amazing!!

  • What's your snare? I absolutely hate it. :D

  • dont hate bro. its not a bad sounding snare.

  • Yeah, the snare isn't the problem in this case, it's a combination of the wrong kind of head and my lackluster tuning skills at the time...

  • that was down with the sickness dawg!!!

  • Peart cap lol.

  • I love this guy!

  • I love your cymbals can u plz tell what they are specially the crashes thnk u...

  • From left to right: Zildjan 12" Splash, Zildjan 14" Quickbeat hi hats, Zildjan 14" Avedis Thin Crash, Sabian 10" Hand Hammered Splash, Paiste 20" Heavy Bell Ride, Zildjan 16" Avedis Medium Thin Crash, Zildjan 19" Rock Crash.

  • Nice work once again!!! You are a true Neil fan!!! Your Neil hat is a nice touch! Keep up the awesome work!!!

  • nice!!!!!!!!

  • nice kit, gj with the bass pedal.

  • are those red drum haeads, or are they clear, adn the inside of your drum is red?

  • I think they're clear.

  • neil pert twirls his sticks.....and throws them....and plays kick ass drums with them....

    is he a gay glamrocker?

  • how did you get that tone on your bass drum

  • I have good sized pillow in the kick, and I use an Audix F14 mic mounted inside the kick pointed at the beater.

  • at like 3:22 why did the camera change did u mess up and hav to edit

  • No, the camera ran out of battery and I didn't have time to redo the last part until later that day.

  • how long have you been playing?

  • About 12 years or so.

  • I can't do that ride part, yet. Its pretty tough right now.

  • HOLY SH-- ure good

  • at 2:28 I was just like...OMG!!

    best drummer on youtube!

  • OMG i love the splash cymbal!!! it's the ultimate mini-cymbal of joy!!!

  • what brand is that drum set, and how much would that set-up run for?

  • It's a Tama Superstar 7 piece. This is a vintage kit, but the current 5 and 6 piece models are running from $600 to $900 without hardware.

  • nice. I saw a shell kit like yours on guitar center for about $800 without hardware or a snare. it would cost about $1500 with a snare and all the hardware.

  • how long have you been playing? year wise?

  • About 12 years.
