Its interesting that a movie portraying Smith as monogamous is released shortly after the raid on the FLDS polig. sect in Texas. It's even more interesting that in all these mainstream Mormon movies about Smith (The Work and the Glory) Smith and his buddies are portrayed as having only one wife when its common historical knowledge they in fact practiced plural marriage.
Joseph Smith's own father-in-law, Isaac Hale, testified that Smith's process of translating the golden plates in 1828-29 was the same method he has used to pretend to "see" buried treasure in previous years. The obvious conclusion here is that Smith's claims of miraculously receiving golden plates from an angel which contained writing that he translated "by the power of God" was really just a variation of his earlier "peep-stoning" treasure-hunting scam.

Actually, you're right on this one. Emma did catch Joe & Emily P. together, but also caught her "friend" E. Snow with him & was blamed for E's miscarriage due to being knocked down the stairs by Emma with a broom stick. It's hard to keep his multiple sex partners straight - there were so many.

the thing that i love most bout being a mormon is that you can know for your self with the confirmation from God that this church is the true church and that the blessings that ive seen in me life and in the lives of others. I served a mission for 2 years in Japan, and in a culture that most people dont bleve in anything change their whole lives because of their faith, and through living it seeing their lives be blessed for the better was the most greatest blessing of all.

I was a strong member of the Church for 22 years. I read scriptures with my family every single morning. I went to Church every week. I watched every Church movie. Never once did I ever hear about Joseph Smith's 33 other wives. Never once did I hear that some of them were 14 years old, and that many of them were married to other men.
Yet these are things the Church does not deny... do your research. Why did the Church hide these things?! I've been deceived all my life... :(

Its interesting that a movie portraying Smith as monogamous is released shortly after the raid on the FLDS polig. sect in Texas. I spent many a years away from the church since that age and have participated in many of this life's so called facts and what things the world considers a fun time. Actually, you're right on this one. Emma did catch Joe & Emily P. together, but also caught her "friend" E. Snow with him & was blamed for E's miscarriage due to being knocked down the stairs by Emma with a broom stick. It's hard to keep his multiple sex partners straight - there were so many.

HA!! LOL! I am a firm believer in science which is WHY I decided that Mormonism (along with other religions) made no sense- just like you. Now you tell me again how DNA has anything to do with proving to me that Joseph or Brigham had no sexual polygamous relationships with woman. I mean it is a fact. In documents- go back and study the county records you'll find them. There is a reason the US would not allow Utah to become a state- POLYGAMY!

I actually work with people "who LACK calm rationale" who have to be medicated for their own good. I doubt they would put a person who "lacks calm rationale" in charge of a psych ward full of patients "who LACK calm rationale." I've worked with people who see angels and spirits and talk to God and who are told to start up their own relgion (who HAVE to be medicated). You know that sounds eerily familiar too... what's his name... Joseph Smith. Yeah, the Mormons actually believed him! HA!!

to counter that I can give you specific NAMES of people who think it is there job to tear down the LDS church. There are psych wards with them too!

They were never given the chance to organize their own religion as they were institutionalized by their family before they had the chance. I guess Joseph must have been very fortunate as he was never institutionalized. I guess that makes him right & "called" of God. But wait...these crazy folk say they are called of god too hmmm? AND Joseph was killed in the end? And Warren Jeffs said he was called of God & he's locked up.. hmmm just like Joseph was locked up. But it's just non sensical babble!

the thing that i love most bout being a mormon is that you can know for your self with the confirmation from God that this church is the true church and that the blessings that ive seen in me life and in the lives of others. I served a mission for 2 years in Japan, and in a culture that most people dont bleve in anything change their whole lives because of their faith, and through living it seeing their lives be blessed for the better was the most greatest blessing of all.
I love this gospel.

NO, it says that SOME of the lamanites rejected God, became cursed, removed MOST of their clothes and then ran around the tropics in loin cloths. Then like EVERYONE who runs around hot places in loin cloths, they became DARK skinned. Amazing how that happens. The more sun your skin gets, the darker you become. Some people call it a tan, you apparently call it racism.

really? please give me the verse cause i would love to read about that! :D you however can read 1 nephi 12:23, 2nephi5:21-24 and alma3:6. the 21 verse says nothing about takin their cloths, and the 23 verse tells us that we are not allowed to have sex with them cause interacial intercourses are bad, and the alma part tells us that the skinncoulur was their punnishment.. not their lack of clothes,,

Look in your history and see where the cainanites came from the tribe of CAIN they are DARK. The black race is not cursed for any of you that want to twist it about. I was a strong member of the Church for 22 years. I read scriptures with my family every single morning. I went to Church every week. I watched every Church movie. Never once did I ever hear about Joseph Smith's 33 other wives. Never once did I hear that some of them were 14 years old, and that many of them were married to other men.
Yet these are things the Church does not deny... do your research. Why did the Church hide these things?! I've been deceived all my life... :(

You know what- when I read thru his book- sounded pretty devote to me- and devout or not he uses actual journals of the plural wives. Now if he in any way falsified these journals and/or direct quotes from the woman themselves as far I knew there are laws against false representation... The gospel of Jesus Christ which tells us that if anyone preaches a different gospel let them be CONDEMNED.
