  • Roma in the New Forest as well, many generations long. I am proud of my roots and so are my children, so they should be :)

  • ezez ott van ahol kell tetszik

  • Nice song!

  • yeah, in my town in Ireland,

Travellers occasionally go to school with us

but gypsies don't often. there is only one gypsy girl who works in a shop in our town. It is a beauty shop and she is gorgeous.

but there are many travellers and the travellers tend to be more violent and modern, the gypsies tend to be more old fashioned.

  • hey if they think gypsies are dirty they are just jealous! hah i mean i dont think europeans have traditions like that look the music and exoticness you brought from us tell them that stuff into thier faces heh =) i actually love love love gypsies we have ALOT in india i danced with them when i went there im in boring america hah

  • i though we were jats and not rajputs

  • wow...this is incredible. Are you Romani? My dad is Romani, and I always wondered about them..where do you live?

  • As I understood it, the Romani Gypsy Has origins in Rajisatan , India. im open to suggestion here...

  • You are correct.. Punjab & Rajasthan.. we were once Rajputs. However there are some who believe we originated in Egypt. The Banjara are said to be related & actually do acknowledge Romanies as brothers & sisters!

  • I can see the facial structure connection with some Nth Egyptian's and given the Nubian was more African influenced. thnx

  • Beautiful version! This is my favorite song.

  • Nais tuke phen!

  • Hello and nice to meet you. I do not understand your language so I dont know what you said, however, perhaps you can translate it to Enlgish for me. Peace and Love, Cherie

  • @gypsycherie I said thank you in Romani chib.

  • romani is a name invented by hebrew!

    is a totally wrong name!

They are gipsyies and only gipsyes! Study history 1st and then say your point of view!

  • heli.. what utter twaddle! It is YOU who needs to study history you complete dinlo! Gypsy is a nik name the English gave to us when we first arrived in europe.. they called us Little Egyptians, that got shortened to Gyptians and shortened again to gypsy which has stuck ever since! To some Roma the word Gypsy is derogatory! Romani is our correct name.. Romani, Romany, Rrom, Rroma.. Gypsy is a nik name.. ya got that gorja?

  • I understand this and wish more people did..being macedonian, I feel very deeply about our culture and music and feel the music of other easthern countries as if its my own. Its in my blood!

  • no actually the greeks gave that name to travellers 1500 yrs ago , my grand father is of romany heritage , i love looking at videos of travellers , and interested to know where im from ,id love to know if any of his old familly are still living

  • @forstercheryl Yes actually the Elizabethans gave us the name Gypsy.. look into it didikkai..!! We don't call ourselves 'Travellers' either.. the irish, Scottish, Welsh & New Age are the Travellers (always written with a capital T, & Gypsy always written with a capital G) Most gorja's don't know the difference between Gypsies & Travellers! What was your purodads surname?

  • well ive heard gypsys call them selves travellers , n who cares about the spelling or grammar , it doesnt really matter does it ? my grandfathers mothers surname was jones , i think thats a welsh surname , theres so many versions of gypsy heritage isnt there !!! no one knows really , are you male or female ??

  • @forstercheryl you may have 'heard' it but not in public because there's a huge problem of gorja's not knowing the difference between Gypsies & Travellers! Using a capital 'G' or 'T' has nowt to do with spelling & grammer.. I should have thought you would have learned that from the web sites you get your info from!

  • and the greeks did name romanys or gypsys , gypsys ,they thought they were from egypt , and called them egyptians which was shortened to gypsy , they then progressed through europe ,and arrived on the coast of scotland first ,which was way before elizabethan times !!

  • @forstercheryl Zigeuner = German word for Gypsy, derives from a Greek root meaning "untouchable." To many Roma the word 'Gypsy' is actually derogatory. In India the word 'gypsy' with a lower case 'g' is used to describe the criminals & untouchables but has nothing to do with Romani's..this was due to the English when they went about colonsiing & invading countries & threw the name 'Gypsy' around! Stick to Romani web sites for info coz gorja's like to play know it all when it comes to Rom history

  • 'The Welsh' are 'Travellers'??? I dont think the Welsh Gypsies would agree!! Even in very recent times, the Welsh Gypsies were often viewed in awe by the English both for their 'flash' posessions and 'old fashioned' ways.

  • @trailerman2 I think you misunderstood me.. there are even Romanies in Ireland, but then there are also Irish Travellers who are not Romani. There are Romani's in Scotland and in Wales but there are also Travellers. Being Romani is nothig to do with being 'flash' & you will find although Romanies have old ways, being old fashioned is not a description of modern day Romanies. There's a lot of 'romaticism' that the gorja's like to paint which is seldom near the truth. So be warey of web sites lol

  • @BoriChumba There are no Irish Romanies. There are travellers in Ireland but they are Irish. They used to be called Tinkers. They are usually called knackers which is insulting and also pikeys.

  • @irishxxkelt There's a kushti storytelly by the name of Richard O'Neill.. he's Romani

    romaniroots . webs . com / richardoniel l. htm

  • @BoriChumba Thanks for the link anyway.

  • @BoriChumba

respectfully Phral I'm no traveller, proud of my roots, from a Welsh family with Kale and Lallere Sinti blood. The Tuckers and Elliots of Wales, with our Sinti blood coming from the Spinolas. My PuroDai came of the road in 1903 and settled in a Kenna in the Rhondda valley. Sadly many of my family still living in Wales wont acknowledge our Romani blood and I havent rokkered the chib in 40 years since I was a chavo, but it doesn't stop me telling my own Chavvies about our roots.

  • @Brightforge Thank you for your kushti comment! I'm a phen sal :O)

You do the right thing, never stop teaching your chavvies about their roots! If you read my comment again you'l see I stated there ARE Romani's in Wales as well as Travellers, maybe I worded it wrong I'm not as eloquent as I used to be haha Anyway warda tu coccorus :O)

  • I am actually 100% Roma[ni] Gypsy. I was born in Hungary. ^_^

  • to borichumba

hey i have a question what if european scythians were secretly killed in the halocaust tooo? like the jassic hungarians and we never knew about it

the scythian language is an ancient east iranian language thats extint<< today the ossetian language comes from scythian the closest language possible is pashto and pamiri

  • i think the song called " a song for ana"

  • Congratulations for this videos about Gypsy Folklore, the world certainly needs to know!

  • im proud to be gipsy

    baftalo

  • Beautiful!

  • hello cherie i can't believe Gypsy are related to us in india wow so proud

  • hi chetansingh.. we Gypsies were Rajputs back in India, & the Banjara even to this day acknowlege Romanies as their brothers & sisters. Even our laguage (chib) is similar (some words 'lavs' the same) as hindi / punjabi / urdu

  • Beautiful, thankyou, the music, the pictures, the words. Without music and storytelling, the human race would be ruled by money and greed!

  • Leland suggests that shion-kam is the root of the name zingan (also tzingan, zincali, sigøyner etc). However, the more likely root-word is atsingani, Greek-unclean.

  • My finger itches to subscribe to you sweet one every time I see your videos. But I must discipline myself for yet a couple of days, for I am determined to use their system. This is beautiful. You already had me watching out for anything Romani before from my last life.

  • Love the video but I am cut off from my Romany Roots Desperately seeking real trad Romany music from Britain

  • this is a beautiful video, ive never really seen Gypsie culture this close before.

    thanks for sharing

  • Just for the American Rromani record; I once again state as I did on the other. Many of the Rroma here may not partake in this folk tale as incestious relationship as you might imagine, is as taboo as it is for many Western religions. I can not speak for the ansesters but in twenty years of research and all the oral stories I know from home(over 6generations worth),never have I heard anything about the brother and sister part. lol.Like bible most ingidingous draba is parabel, riddle. Evolvinglove

  • I actually made these video's as part of the Dajjal series at HashemsFilms (dot) com try and check the site out and watch the dajjal series video's.. a real eye opener no matter what religion you are.

  • This is this is easiest the most beautiful video i have seen on Youtube. I am a muslim Greek-Rom and no matter with what religions this clashes with, one can't take the beauty from folk tales like these. It would be an enormous dishonour and sacrillage to our heritage.

    Thank you

  • You know something bro? If you look deep into folk tales from any culture, you will see they all relate to the same source.

Naist Tuke for your comment and for watching!

  • In many traditions arising from the Middle and Near East and elsewhere, incest was often depicted as a desirable act of blood line husbandry. This is true of the stories of the Annunaki as realated by the Sumerians, and extends through the House of Abraham. Perhaps this relates to preserving Nephilimic content.

Very beautifully done video, by the way.

  • Beautiful Feather!

  • Thank you my dearest! :O)

  • SalaamAlaikum, Thanks for the Story Sister, MASHALLAH, JAZAKALLAH KHAIR.

  • Thank you for watching sis .. wassalam :O)

  • do the romani have their own religion?

  • Yes bro very much so! Its a very rich & beautiful heritage too :O)

  • what is thier religion?

  • Many different religions, depending on the country which we settled as well. Here in England most Romanichals are Born Again Christians, I know Rom in Brazil who are Catholic, & in places such as Kosovo, Bosnia etc, there are many who are Muslim.

  • oh i see

  • We have our own spiritula medicine too my sister, Amarey draba Rromegee. Oh Tachunee Dobimous, Partragria, Ley Shuvaney, etc.I am doing my best to help inform the good Rromani Christain community that although I to know Christ is the Creators true son in Christ Consciousness, for me. That the very organisation that helped to enslave us is what they are partaking in.

  • Nais tuke .. however I'm not a Christian, I am a Muslim alhamdulillah. I know that Jesus (pbuh) is not the son of GOD but a prophet & one in which we hold in very high regard & defend as we do all of GOD's prophets (pbut)

    PeAcE

  • Hello peyo/sister, I think you might have misunderstod. I was not implying "you" were Christain, I was sharing that the American Karldaresh and Machwayey, (some not all) are. I think it is wonderful for them , you, I to hear our hearts and walk the way it instructs us. I was just making the point that many Rroma (as I know thousands) have forgotton we come from our own Hindu based indiginous spiritual truth. Sastimous to all the heavenly bodies and to us all.

  • Ava there's many Rom in this country who are being swept away by all this Born Again Christian movement & many are turning their back on their own family if they too are not a Born Again Christian. I also know some who adhere to the old ways & are very Hindu, & a few that are Asset Ka which has its roots in ancient Egypt, they believe we originated in Egypt & not India.. I personally think thats dinlo especially when everything, dna, our ways, jib & more points to India. I'm glad I'm Muslim :O)

  • I agree with you and so I feel would my grandparents. Baxtasa Lashee ley Devlesa (Kushti baxt?, tee hee), see ya sis

  • The teachings of the bible for me are true but as is the truth within Hopi, Budda, Kristna, Kabala, etc.Religion is made made, The teachings are written in the heart to each of us.Each of us see if our hearts are true what each of us need to see when reading the anchient teachings of the profits. Within every leaf and rock, sand and stone,The "maps" show the destiny, no substatute for the inner voice, guide post to assist hue-man when we have gotton lost from "crystal" clarity. tey besh baxtali.

  • Wonderful, you need to write childrens books. Dont let your heritage be lost, get it all down for your children. This is golden stuff Sis. I love it!!!!!

  • Thank you sis! Insha'ALLAH I will one day do the artwork myself.. I would love to make little animations.

  • This reminds me of one of my sons books called "Thunder Cake" Its a Russian childs story. The woman who wrote it tells about her Grandma and how they shared stories and weathered the storm making "Thunder Cake" You have a great heritage and it would make many great stories.

  • This was the reason Bro Abdullah asked me to do this as all these stories connected to different heritages are linked & have similarities.

  • nice sis, do u know Dan Rooney ukhti?

i used to be good mates with one of his nephews.

  • Bro the Roony's are Irish Travellers, NOT Romani~Gypsy. Irish Travellers are a completely different bloodline, they speak a different language (gammom/cant/sheta) & their ways is different to ours.

Have you ever seen a bare knuckle boxing match?

  • thats what i thought, just felt like a bit of namedropping :)

    only on YT :)

  • nice video with new program video ! thank you !

  • so your a gypsy...do you know any gypsy curse you can teach me?

lol im sorry im sorry i was just kidding sister.

    nice video

  • Haha I'll let you off bro .. we used to use that one on the gorga's when they was making trouble with us! (Gorga is non-Gypsy) Glad you liked the video :O)
