The voice acting on the other hand, makes up for it.

You do not know how funny hk-47 is until you repair all of his memory IT IS SO INCREDIBLY HILARIOUS, it's weird though that if you're a female character the romance with carth goes up but then there's no mention of it for a while, but if your a male character you can constantly try to pursue bastila into a relationship.

By the way, for those who don't know, the PC and XBox versions of this game are the same, except that in the PC version, you can mod it and change anything you like, but only if you know how. By the way, they only kissed in this video because of a mod, read the video description.
