Agreed, Lewis was and is a world treasure. He is one of my hero's, I know it's corny, but I think we need more men of integrity and intellect to look up to. Especialy in the increasingly self centered world we now find ourselves living in. Thank you for uploading this.
So many words spoken in life that say so little about the truth. Only C.S. Lewis could sum up so much of the Gospel in only a little over seven minutes. This clip is simply staggering ! Thanks for posting it. :)
"Let's forget about ourselves, concentrate on Him, and worship Him.....Jesus, Christ, the Lord!"
When I give up/lose my life, I will save it -- and when I gain salvation thru Jesus, I also gain eternal life and in the process my life will produce "fruit" in His likeness -- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, longsuffering, etc.
with my utmost respect and love for the man who held the key in his hand and open up my imagination to what heaven must be like and brought me closer to the Father, C.S. Lewis, thank you for your life.
@spidey676 There is already a translation in Portuguese but not one in Spanish yet. If you can do a translation for both videos (part 1 and 2) that would be great. As owner of the videos you have my permission. I love Lewis and want the people of Mexico to have access to him in this format. If you have any farther questions just PM me. Thanks!!
@spidey676 all of his speeches were documented in his book "Mere Christianity". there wouldnt be much of a point in translating this audio when it is already translated to spanish in book format. the whole purpose of the audio is to hear his powerful voice. it wouldn't be as powerful if it weren't him speaking it.
4;58 "It's just no good at all going to Christ for the sake of developing a personality. As long as that's what you're bothering about, you haven't begun. Because the very first step to getting a real self is to forget about the self. It will come only if you're looking for something else."
Narnia connection!!! You can only get through the wardrobe when you're not expecting it!! haha was I the only one to think of that?
Oh! I am blown away! I just 'happened' to open up 'mere christianty; and read these very passages today,,,I hadnt read CS Lewis in over a year! THEN I 'stumbled' upon these precious clips!! I had NO IDEA there was any existing audio of Lewis! WELL, GOD BLESS YOU. And Praise God! Thanks so much.
Thank you so much for uploading this! I have had no idea this could have survived! Lewis is my favourite auther, thinker, apologist. Someone whose beliefs are so lose to yours that it feels that you have known that author in person! never wished I could hear his voice. although I had imagined it to be different. but that as he says is probably to do with the way he was educated, genes, etc. it's important WHAT he says...
One of my favorite writers and thinkers... and a star in the lineage of Christian Apologists: Chesterton>Lewis>Muggeridge>Gomes. What they all have in common is a near-empirical/logical conclusion on the genuinness of Christianity, which, as a devout Theist, I find much more convincing than a simple belief in, and espousal of, Biblical Inerrancy. Could I be convinced of the singular truth of Christianity, the writings of these men, Lewis especially, would achieve that.
But we WILL know him someday!!! And I look foreward to that day with great and urgent wonder!!! Thank you, gnosisandlight, for the beautiful video and pictures throughout it!
Great vids, very neat to hear his actual voice. He sounds more like an actual Christian than a Gnostic (counterfeit christians). Wasn't Lewis a Catholic? It sounds as if he's espousing the belief that we are given salvation by God's grace through Christ, as opposed to the esoteric Catholic doctrine of self-made salvation through works.
Actually, he considered himself a member of the Church of England. Also, Catholics do not believe in "self-made salvation." The Church specifically says that salvation comes from God alone, and people do good works in order to bring His Kingdom to Earth.
Just remember what God truly wants for us. A personal relationship with Him. He wants us to know Him and for us to share all the great qualities each and every one of us were given by Him with Him. If we act out of love for Him, the works will come baby!

I can hardly wait to meet C.S Lewis in person one day, once we have really developed as people, and become in likeness to Christ.

I am so thrilled to hear the voice of my beloved C.S. Lewis, who is, in my opinion, the greatest apologist for the faith who ever lived.
I have his complete works and read and read them continuously...and seem to find something new in them every time.
Next to the Holy Bible, the works of Mr. Lewis are the most oft-read books in my entire library.
Thank you so much for posting these! You have no idea (or perhaps you do, since you did it) how very much it means to me to hear his voice.
