  • My singer wanted to do "seventeen" and I told him no. I can't play it properly and it needs to be played exactly right. I don't think anyone can really play that solo right except for Reb.

  • Sorry About It Extreme Tapping Skills.

  • reb is good but i like ritchie

  • @adagioish

    ritchie who??????????

  • Comment removed

  • He plays exactly the same & even better that when he was in winger but for some reason he lost lots of presence! his moves made him soooo much for his stage and he lost it man! but anyway the sound is killer!; 100% true american rockstar!

  • @juvirox Suhr guitar, his signature :)

  • Hats off Reb Beach is one bad boy,I wish they gave him more space in Whitesnake

  • This particular one is his first Suhr guitar. Made in 1986 if I'm not mistaking... It was with Suhr pickups in it, but now they were swaped with EMGs. The Suhr Reb Beach model was made after this guitar.

  • The man is just plain HOT, O man can he play

  • THE FACES !!!!!

  • Fuckin A that dude kicks ass!!

  • haha, the face!

  • @jackgomad I must admit it's funny, but if that's the only thing you look at a good guitar player...

  • Your Sucks KIRK HAMMETS BESSS !!! xD

  • pfff la wea fea solo culiao niuna gracia

  • this is a reb beach sinagture model by

  • @juvirox I would say is a Suhr guitar... but I'm a Drummer.. :)

  • I think so, looks like the decal on the headstock, kinda hard to see.

  • @gfiguero937 yea it a suhr

  • @gfiguero937 It's a Suhr Reb Beach signature model. All Koa and run around $3555

  • @gfiguero937 It is a Suhr. There is one on Ebay right now for about $3400. It is the Reb Beach model. It is made of Koa wood.

  • @gfiguero937 It is a Suhr

  • sick playing i wish he woulda had natural vibrato on that end note tho!

  • WOW!

  • Jesus Christ

  • cooool

  • i hear Doug's influence

  • Reb Beach is talented and sexy !

  • post a vid of yourself doing exactly that, and you stop coming off like such a douchebag.

  • GOD IN HEAVEN!!!!!!

  • i do not share that... where in hell is zakk wylde here?... Ive never seen Zakk tap like this... Reb is so fucking awesome!!!!

  • Zakk Wylde is taking notes when watching Reb Beach play.

  • amen brother....

  • Where dude? youre seriously high...

  • Whick guitar is that ? And is he using single Emg coils ? : D

  • Suhr with EMG's in a HSS configuration

  • I love Reb, and I agree, this was terrible.

  • he's done this same tapping lick so many times

  • whats wrong with that he always reinvents it

  • nothing is wrong with it. i actually like it.

    i was just sayin

  • oh yah i know what your saying by always playing the same thing i still love his fucking tone

  • i know, right?

    such a clear sound

  • Eddie himself said he got the inspiration from the Jimmy Page solo in Heartbreaker.

  • I was simply trying to inform him that he was wrong because he sounded like a pompous ass. Much like you are making yourself look like a douche.

  • the lord of the strings! XD

  • hes like EVH with the tapping. Sweet

  • Better than EVH.

  • no no no

  • This guys mind is tuned into the cosmos for sure. To be able to play like this is beyond extraordinary. You have to be like CoNected to some channel to do that on this level. Badass.

  • Reb Beach is the fucking best of the best!

  • Reb Beach Rules /,,/

  • Reb is bad ass. Good video.

  • I'll take Reb Beach playing with tons of feeling over Herman Lee playing 8th. note triplets at 250 bpm any day.

  • this man is the son of god.

I like the way he sorta uses his third fignger to mute any open strings next to his tap finger from ringing, god his fingers are so strong !

  • look jesus on a guitar.......Reb Beach ROCKS!

  • Tap master Deluxe...sick

  • Rex Carroll

  • wtf r u high?

  • oi dude i wasnt saying he is the best guitarist, just to me he is great.

  • I'm sorry I have to interject. Eddie Van Halen did not invent tapping. He brought it to mainstream music. Paganini used tapping during his violin performances and in his pieces and jazz guitarist Barney Kessel and Emment Chapman used two handed tapping long before Eddie was even thought. Steve Hackett also used tapping in the Genesis songs Dancing with the Moonlit Knight and The Return of the Giant Hogweed. All put out before Eddie got into mainstream.

  • Well stated, Irish. Jennifer Batten was also two-handed taping 25 years ago; a fine, solid, innovative musician featured in "Guitar Player" mag. And -- just as suggestion, as we're all music-lovers -- let's ease down a notch on the hate & vitriol, fellahs. No need for throwing down on a Comments page. Cheers!

  • Yeah, but Jenny sucked stylistically compared to most other high-profile players.

  • master of tapping

  • Reb's on a world tour, actually; and he hates to fly...

  • I met Reb on the plane, he was sitting next to me, such a great guy! He was on tour across Europe with the Whitesnake.

  • Ok... Is it just me hallucinating or at 0:53 he completely stops moving his fingers not even picking strings and goes for the whammy bar and even moves it. The thing is that you still hear him note picking and the whammy sustain part only comes in at 0:56.... ROFL Only this part of thew vid doesn't seem in sync. Looks like he wasen't even playing himself.. guitar "lip-sync" Grats Reb Beach

  • probly just delay dude i dont doubt that he can pull that off

  • the audio and video dont match dude..

  • the vid is outa synch

  • He had a delay effect on.

  • Dude, he is picking the string, look at his thumb, it's moving every time the note is repeated. It's pretty easy to see actually. So please don't accuse him of anything.

  • reb has ta be my favorite guitarist ever...in a decade when pretty anyone who owned a guitar was labeled a virtuoso...he definately stood out...and hes still amazing.

  • DUDE JUST CAME ON THE AUDIENCE! LMao!

  • "Did some nobody just claim Randy Rhoads was gay?.... wow, now I have heard everything.

    I guess Jas "

I've actually had my speculations about that. Sharon always said he never did hang out with women that much, he had a real feminine look to him. But I don't think he was gay.

  • lol it's Jesus with a guitar, joking Reb Beach rocks!

  • nice!

  • Did some nobody just claim Randy Rhoads was gay?.... wow, now I have heard everything.

    I guess Jas

  • that dude can rip a guitar to pieces of cosmic dust

  • I don't get your point but...

If you have problems in your life, maybe the Internet is your last ressource... you can talk, we'll listen to you and give you attention but don't try to build your credibility like that! lol

  • Rob Halford is gay...

You only just found this out?

  • Rob Halford seriously is gay, though.

  • sweet. Zakk would kick your stretched ass. End of story buddy

  • lol

  • you guys know nothing about talent reb bloody rules the guy he replaced in winger was insane and hes even better i saw him live recently whitesnake blew ozzy away

  • Hey peter use english next time. Between youe small iq and that big dick in your mouth i cant understand a thing you're saying. Hey goodtobebad, fully agree man, reb rules i was guttered that he didnt get to shine the other weekend. Doug must be better at sucking dick or sumin cos reb would smoke that fool. Ozzy kicked ass i thought, purely because of zakk

  • You are so right! Have you ever met him? He is one cocky son of a bitch!

  • He is pretty good, but his attitude is fucking shitty. I came across him in Phoenix Az after a show he did and he was rude to me. It might have been because he was riding high and mighty after his killer show that he did. I thought that it was humorous. Kinda sucked, though!

  • wow....he plays very clean. especially the beginning of his solo.

  • is that kid rock or what, the teeth there

  • i like the teeth thing he does, the playing is cliche but the drunkard look is cool, you would think they found this guy on the sidewalk by the port authority in NYC, but h actually is some rich Berlkey music Uni Student.

  • Sounds like someone has a LOT of hate for the Reb guy.

Why don't you just pick up the phone and call him, instead of posting bashful comments in every single Reb Beach video on YouTube?

It is kinda pathetic you know.

  • haha obviously you have NOT seen a lot of advanced tapping...

  • he changed lol

  • Well, what did you expect?^^

  • Actually if you watch him he is using two fingers on his tapping hand.

This is however is pretty irrelevant, music is how it sounds and this guy has played for dokken, winger and whitesnake im prett sure he can use his little finger.

  • how is that being lazy, the way he taps is not easy to do

  • He`s great in tapping but I thinf he use it all the time ... it``s too much I see that in whitesnake

  • I developed my little finger from when i had just started playing, because that was what i found more comfortable. I have reasonably long fingers and like to use all of them, only because that's how i prefer to play. Everybody should play in a way that suits them, and the best guitarists use less conventional techniques that suit them as individuals.

  • I don't use my pinky as I have a big stretch. When I was learning the guitar early on I never needed to use my pinky, so to use it now feels strange to me! I find the fact that Reb plays that well with three fingers inspiring, who gives a toss if he doesn't use four?

  • huh? i don't think you have any clue what you are talking about.

  • how about a g6 concert with:gary moore,reb beach,petruci,steve morse,satriani,and vai...

  • hell id be happy with just gary moore...

  • haha tht wud be great as long as satch headlines

  • and the guest of honor for the concert will be mike portnoy on drums, stu ham on bass, and to great guitar players like steve howe and steve hacket to give some extra juice...

  • one word describes it all(awesome)

  • cool

  • to be honest, i think its impressive he doesnt NEED a pinky to play

  • lord of the strings:)

  • Yeah he really needs to learn how to use his pinky, christ give me a break. What the fuck is it with people, telling a guitar god how he should fucking play. WAKE UP.

  • I could not agree with more!

  • he only uses his pinky when he absolutly has to

  • Anyone have a transcription for the tapping licks that start at 0:24? This is a recurring phrase for Reb -- check out the 'Too High To Fly' live Dokken clip.

  • it is kinda funny cause he uses his tapping finger in stead of using his pinky

  • you are right man.he should learn how to play with his pinky.

  • Just think what he might be able to do if he used his fricking pinky finger to play. 3 finger wonder.

  • sometimes its hard to pull that kind of stuff off in his position. standing, with the guitar pretty low and his thumb over the neck. its tough reach but wat the hell he owns so why nit pick.

  • When I was growing up I did the same thing (no pinky) until I got the transcription of Vai/Crossroads movie in Guitar World (I think). From that point on, I had to use my pinky if I was going to play that insane guitar by Vai. I still have tapes of me learning it when I was 10. Boy, did I ever suck then but it's fun going back and listening to those tapes.

Anyways, Reb is a great player, just wondering what he could do with that extra ammo of another finger. :)

  • If he can't stretch far enough, he actually does use his pinky. Why the hell do people make so much fuss over this anyways?? It's not like he's the only guitarist in the world to not use his pinky normally. Marty Friedman doesn't either, e.g.

  • Exactly. Its the music and the sound that counts. Not how many fingers you use. I mean look at Django Reinhardt (jazz player). He only had use of two

  • pinky takes a lot more time to develop with much less muscle mass to be utilized, I think his tapping technique really developed around his desire to emulate a saxophonist more than anything, but I'm sure

he'd admit he'd rather smoke a bowl than do pinky trills all day for 2 years just so he can sound more like Lynch.

  • Very out of sync vid, but awesome solo!

  • he stole my guitar!!!!

i have the ibanez voyager guitar and he stole it..

the guitar was not so cool after winger had the same one... aarrrghh...

  • Impressive... long live Reb beach you're amazing!
