thanks for the info . i have a commode that i want to do something with . i was going to just paint it . this looks pretty easy so maybe i'll try this .
I am in love with your vanity.it is so pretty. Thanks for the how to on re finishing.I will be able to put it to use.Where in NC did you live?I just moved back to SC from Wilmington.Lovely antique stores there.
I too have stripped and refinished 2 older dressers, one wardrobe, and a 4 poster bed.. all brought me to the realization that refinishing is REALLY hard work, and havent done naything for quite some time. I LOVE making old things beautiful again.. so i know whay u love doing it too. so cool to know u like some of the same things ! beautiful job on the vanity ! xoxox
Looks so so nice now.The hard work was deff. worth it :-)) I have just picked up a very nice oak Bed which someone had painted white and am just waiting for some sun so i can get that going.Would be good to see the other pieces you did.
Ya'll did an Awesome job! it's so pretty ^_^... I love old furniture they just have so much charm ^_^....and if they could talk i would love to hear their stories of going from one generation to another
Wow you did an awesome job, looks so prfessionlly done, perfect! I could have used this video about 1 month ago, when I re-did an bedroom suite that belonged to my fiancees great grand parents from germany. I thought I was going to ruin it, but it turned out gorgeous! I have a vanity very similiar to that one, on rollers and all....I feel though as I need to change out the glass..think I should keep the original or get a new one??
contd...Tried to squeeze everything into one response "ant" working. lol When you did the summer drink mix vid, your kitched looked very modern, so I thought maybe you just had this one room that you wanted to do antiques in. Maybe someday you will do a vid and show your home to us...love looking at others taste in decorating. Thanks for sharing all your talents.
@imsassi I would say 75% of my home is "antique" I will do a upstairs room/home tour soon for you, our basement is in major remodel at the moment but I do have a 1800's pool table down there with other antiques as well when it is done Ill tour it as well, I cant tell you how much I love your interest, I so love this part of my life. XXOX
@Lacquerandlace as I said before Im not into redoing furniture..but I love "projects". When I moved into this house it was nothing but had such potential..I completely re-did everything. Has beautiful old oak baseboards, sills, etc which hadnt been touched for years..now it looks like new money (lol), put hi shine sealer on and it just made the grain of the wood show beautifully. My passion has always been to take something so ugly and turn it into a dream..contd
@Lacquerandlace contd..every inch is "me", things that I love and things that I did myself. Think thats why I love watching you so much, because I see so much of myself in you and what my eyes like. I can only imagine what the pool table looks like..sounds like you have a lot of work yet to do, but just think what it will be like when you are finished..just stand back and look at all the beauty. oxo
Give U much credit for doing all this 2 restore.Love 2 paint but never had the patience 2 strip anything-when I start a job want it finished right away. lol As a little girl remember standing at a dresser like this & watching my mom put her hair up in a "rat" & putting her make up on.That bedroom set was eventually painted black, heaven only knows where it ended up. Is your entire home done with this kind of furn? contd..
Why would someone paint an antique!!!! I have an antique bedroom set and the rollers on the chest of drawers are wood!!! That's pretty old! I hope you like the video I gave you a shout out for the bows you made me thank you soooooo much!! I love um!!!
