Claude Rains was born in London, UK on 10Nov1889. His talents were recognized by Sir Herbert B. Tree; the founder of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Rains soared on from there & embarked for the US. Through many memorable roles, he was nominated no less than 7 times for an Academy Award, never winning. He & his 6th wife owned a lovely home in Sandwich, NH. Rains died at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, NH on May 30,1967. He is interred in the Red Hill Cemetery, Moultonborough, NH.
I am a huge Claude Rains fan and I love this tribute, weird as it is. But I have to ask... what's with the lobsters and the lightning? Why this music other than it was done by "Claude" Francois? It means "girls, girls girls" so how does that apply here? I suppose it is just too much to ask that these things make sense. Anyway, the clip is delightful so thanks very much and best wishes.
I'd like to congratulate you on a remarkable tribute to one of hollywoods best character actors, and arguably (not for me though) the best actor of all time.
Thanks once again
PS 14 seconds in-Hearts Divided. Only scene he evr did where you saw him half-naked. Good job finding all the rare pics!
The movie at 43 second is "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" from 1934. Claude is addicted to opium and these scenes of him are showing in the midst of an erotic dream about Rosa, the girl he's obsessed with in the film.
I am a great fan of Claude François, as well as of Claude Rains. I am surprised you used 'Belles Belles' for this video. I would have expected music from Casablanca, or of any of the other Claude Rains movies. They all had exceptional movie scores.
New to Youtube, but signed up to comment. I've always considered Claude Rains one of the greatest actors every in Hollywood. Cute tribute to him. I didn't know he was so popular with the ladies!
If there was one actor to portray Claude Rains. Daniel Radcliffe would make an excellent candidate.

@mmoconnor I muted the crappy music and played NiN's "Closer"... Madonna's "Like a Prayer" works a well.
