These ships make a perimeter around the high value target to try and detect the submarine before it gets into firing range of the high value target. Or at least that's what most navies do, anyway.

America has got the best, fact. we can sit in shallow waters just inches of the bottom, for up to 3 months and you not know we was there.
american subs, have the best torpedoes, Mk-48's. best Missiles Tomahawks. Remember who was winning the weapons race in the cold war. americans.
Uss Ohio, can carry 24*nuclear missiles and each one is 4*times more powerful than both Hiroshima and Nagisaki bombs combined.
i would say that enough to take out moscow

what weapon race during cold war. Many of your technology was stolen from the USSR. And also what makes you think that Russian radar wont see your subs. Also you wont get near Moscow, nobody ever did, and does times Russia was not ready, now send one jet into Russian boarder you will see Washington in flames. US cant fight wars, so scared of Japan had to lunch a nuke. And take 9/11 like the end of the world, its an inside job. No terrorist done it. Jest lies about it.

@alexvasilenko14 :Japan lost all of their navy which was destroyed by the U.S. Navy. Secondly the U.S. kicked Japanesse armed forces from most of the pacific rim, so why lose more soldiers to Japan? Japan was surrounded and had no Navy or air force to defend it;'s self. It would have been a massive massacre if the U.S. invade because millions would had died. Also we can say that all the bombings in Russia by muslims or chechens were fake?

@alex vasilenko 14 What tech did the US steal from the USSR. DO you know anything about how hard intelligence gathering is especially in a closed society like the USSR. Russia has no ABM so we could land a nuke in the men's room of the Kremlin (quote Goldberg). The U2 use to fly over Russian territory w/o a problem. Russia stole A Bomb, b29, sidewinder US sub propeller design and much more. when did we "lunch" a nuke at Japan. maybe we will dinner Iran.

the US government doesnt pay CNN, Advertisers pay CNN what to show; War just brings in a lot of viewers upping the income CNN makes off advertisements, as is the case with any major news network. The news is just the filler for the commercials. Advertisers, because they supply the income for networks, in turn have say on what the networks air; if the advertisers don't like what they see they posses the power to pull the content and or edit/cut down the content.

I understand why you thought this weapon system was a hedgehog weapon system. It is a forward/side throwing launch design. Its a multi-warhead circular deployment pattern w/ each launch and it looks like it uses a mortar size charge for propulsion. The main difference is that the hedgehog was impact detonation, these look like hydrostatic fused...anyways take it light
