Snake is a difficult character to master, I tried to play with him and so far it's a no-go, but I've seen some people wrecking havoc with him from time to time while playing online.
Once I played very poorly in a 2vs2 and my partner was a Snake player, he destroyed two stocks of both before getting his first done... The contrary already happened too, so I think that underestimating a character can be a very bad idea.

I found out that you can plant C4 on a person. I did a few times on accident. I was trying to blow up a useless pack a of C4 because I set it in the wrong place. I hit the detenator and I found that the C4 wasn't on the ground. For some weird reason, it got on someone. One of the people I was fighting got knocked off the map and was about to fall to his death. I hit the button and instead of falling to his death, I sent him flying to his death. Snake rules! You don't think so, huh? GRENADE!!

Many knowledgeable Snake will camp with grenades, which is pretty good against most characters. Snake's dthrow is too good, it puts the opponent in a terrible position. Ftilt is too good for defense and damage racking, (very fast, high priority and very long range) and up tilt is too good for killing (ridiculous disjointed range and power).
Best Snakes live to 200% in most cases, due superheavyweight combined with epic DI. Come on, you should get as good as Ally, the best Snake in the world!
Pressing A when the thing is near lets you grab it out of the air (much like any item). It's great when the Snake player isn't expecting you to chuck it back...
Snakes moves not unfair his tilts mat be powerful but the majority of his attacks are slow and laggy compared to the average character mainly because he focuses most of his attacks on his fire power.
In addition, he is also immobile using most of his weapons which leave him wide open for attack and if youre not careful your opponent can push you on your own explosives. Every thing requires timing even throwing grenades if your timing is off you may wind up comboed or KOed making the learning curve with snake much more difficult than with any other character.
I really wonder what Sakurai where thinking when he created Snakes moveset :P I mean seriously it's like he WANTED him to be a little "over power" I mean come on, they give him probably the strongest tilt in the game along with the strongest neutral attack, and probably the strongest forward smash, his air moves are also REALLY strong and fast and his got like the best range in the game... I mean seriously couldn't Sakurai figure out that such a moveset would not really be fair :P
In your comment you say that Snake is slow. But I find him one of the fastest characters in the game. You'll just need to hit the buttons fast enough and he's unbeatable. In smash Bross online I always end first place with him.
Snake's has extremely fast and powerful tilts, especially up tilt which is devastating on floaty lightweights above 85%. Snake's advanced techniques aren't so hard as you say and they are extremely useful.

that`s right, his speed is compensed with a lot of combos, really powerful smashes, deadly at all distances and his final smash, and may not come in the theme but snake is the only character ho has nothing of magic, equipement or attacks ( double jump is not counted)

Eh... your Snake needs a lot of improvement. Use more f-tilt and u-tilt. It also helps to learn how to mortar slide and c4 jump (if you don't already know how)
It's a little overpowered. Fast, high priority and unpredictable. But, it has short range. You can't kick someone unless they're above or right next to you.
And I forgot to say, if you're first starting out with Snake and want to perform a Snakedash with minimum effort, dash into an opponent whilst trying to perform the glitch (Same as [:02]). The hitlag will give you a larger window to perform the mortarslide. Keep a quick tempo, and you'll perform it eventually.
I still can't do the mortar slide :/ I don't think it's very useful anyways. The mortar usually just slides right past someone. It does cover huge range though. I think I should work on my grenade usage and aerials first. His NAir is difficult to use effectively.

Wow, someone that actually agrees. The thing about Smash Bros. is that you need two things to win- the ability to dodge and to predict and/or judge what is coming up next. You need to have a sort of 'grasp' on your opponent's fighting style and then counter it- if you cannot do that then you are at a loss and in for heavy damage- no matter how fast you are.

IMO there are tiers, but you can be amazing in any tier. It shouldn't matter who you play as. Yea, you'll find it easier to play in the top tier, but you can be just as good in the bottom tier.
I understand and respect what you're trying to point out but as you said none the less there WILL be tiers. Due to Brawl lacking ATs, less hitstun, and lack of combos it's very hard for Low Tier characters to rival High Tier characters. This doesn't mean that Yoshi can't beat a Meta Knight or a King Dedede but it will be much more difficult

I don't get why people say that snake is the slowest character in brawl. He's not, he jumps at a high distance, he could run in an average speed, and his A+side move make him seem agile. If you think he's still slow, look at ganondorf run. That's the slowest character in brawl.

Kudos. I main R.O.B. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that R.O.B. is the only good counter for Snake. Might come in handy when I play online. :)

IMO there are tiers, but you can be amazing in any tier. It shouldn't matter who you play as. Yea, you'll find it easier to play in the top tier, but you can be just as good in the bottom tier.

I understand and respect what you're trying to point out but as you said none the less there WILL be tiers. Due to Brawl lacking ATs, less hitstun, and lack of combos it's very hard for Low Tier characters to rival High Tier characters. This doesn't mean that Yoshi can't beat a Meta Knight or a King Dedede but it will be much more difficult

Apparently the official tier list says that MetaKnight and Toon Link are bottom tier characters. But still in my opinion they still own.

@powergannon o rly? put an alll cpu game, 10 stock, same lvs( Snake vs lucario vs ike vs ganon) i can almost guarantee you snake is 1st lucario is 2nd ike is 3rd and ganon is 4th.. why? because snake is a-tier lucario is like b-tier ike is d-tier and Ganon is f-tier

I don't get why people say that snake is the slowest character in brawl. He's not, he jumps at a high distance, he could run in an average speed, and his A+side move make him seem agile. If you think he's still slow, look at ganondorf run. That's the slowest character in brawl.

That's actually the most articulate speech about tiers I've ever heard. It's also completely true. You CAN be good with anyone, including Bowser, Jigglypuff, Ganon, or Captain Falcon. (Though I've yet to see a good Falcon player...)

I really like Snake. Lucas and ness can't absorb explosions, and Being able to stick a mine to your opponent as you pass over them can be fun.

I've always found it kind of weird that Snake is in Brawl. Like 99.9% of his games are on Sony Playstation systems. He's been on a Nintendo system like what, two times? It still is awesome that he's in though.

i said meta knight was over powered. heh, i spoke 2 soon. wat's so cheap is that snake's bombs & guns & such do WAY more damage than, say link's. don't get me wrong, he's a great character. its just that any match against him would b a little bit one-sided.
