Yes, Yes, Yes! Claiming God has flesh and bone. That he use to be like us once, matches with a faith in the flesh. Counting on yourself and your own righteousness or on your church leaders(man), Wow! If this video does not cut you to your heart then you are blind and making more excuses.
Jesus is gentle, he says 'Come to me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.' The thing about the gospel and true Christianity is you don't have to clean up your act in order to come to God, anybody can come to Him even if they are not living for Him. The more you know who God is and spend time w/ Him in relationship, it actually becomes harder and harder to sin and easier to love anyone. Don't try to change, open your life to His love first and then He will change you =)
I was just trying to counter the religious spirit that often comes from Christians sometimes, like even in this video. We have to remember that obedience comes after salvation, it's the result of our faith and what Christ already offers us, not because of anything good we have done, but because He already loved us first, before He even created us and before we ever respond to that love =) Grace implies a gift freely given to all, it's freely given, and then we change =)
@Drooblemeister We have to remember that obedience comes after salvation
Are you saying man cannot obey gods commandmnts unless theyre saved.Only Saved?
Christians are capable of doing good to their fellowman?Only saved christians do not steal lie commit adultery commit murder?Only saved christians are capable of doing good?God does Not acknowledge the works of good Non Christians?Does Not love All His children?Does Not love the Sinner?
I thought ...God So Loved The WORLD!!!Not just Christians
Of course God loves the whole world, that's why He sent His only Son Jesus to die for sinners like you and me.. I never said only saved Christians are capable of doing good works, I was saying only what Christ has done on the cross can save you and I from judgement and anyone who receives this gift of faith receives new life. If it's a free gift, that means you and I cannot earn it through our own deeds, that's why it's called grace my friend. Have you ever received this free gift for yourself?
@jferristube then how do they obey a book that clearly contradicts the bible(which can be proven by research)? The answer is simple. look for which one has the supporting evidences. Since the bible does, it is conclusive that it is true, but the LDS and the book of Mormon is not. plain logical, correct.
@lifecon1 Since the bible does, it is conclusive that it is true,
Wheres the supporting evidence that god created the earh etc in just 6 days?Proof of a worldwide flood? That Jesus raised the dead and Himself? That He walked on water? And You speak of Logic?Healed the blind deaf and the possessed? There is NO Proof of such now is there!
Show me one teaching in the BoM that contradicts the Bible.
The Bible itself testifies of the BoM.The whole LDS Church is Evidence the BoM is true.
@jferristube The whole LDS Church is not evidence the BoM is true. An example of an contradiction would be that they do not believe we are born sinners. Now that does not mean if a young child or baby dies they go to hell. It just means we are born sinners. That is one example of many that can be found.
@jferristube so if a child lets say is 3 years old kicks an adult in the balls on purpose because they are bad and know that it was wrong. You are saying that is not sin??? Yes that is sin! I agree that babies and young people go to heaven, but they can sin, and the bible states that they are born sinners. smh
Big diff between a new born and a 3 yr old.Nice try tho.LOL
And ya may tell a 3 yr old it is wrong to do that but he will Not comprehend or understand at the same level someone who is 9 or 10 or 21.Comes down to "Comprehension" One cannot sin when one does Not fully comprehend.
Tell me you understand that a new born does Not Comprehend right n wrong let alone good Or evil
Im talkin bout Infants and the moment of birth. Not 3 yrs later or even 12 mnths later.
Come on now. Children can be naughty rebellious nd whateva but I know Christ said. Suffer the little children to come unto me for SUCH IS the Kingdom of Heaven.
I believe their Must be an age when children DO Become accountable for their sins. Most definitely and the Lord has set an age for accountability Tt is NOT at Birth or at 3yrs
You're sayin god condemns a 3 yr old for the "Sin?" of kickn someone there?Hardly!
Rediculous and totally against the atonement and the Nature of God
@jferristube now your assuming. I said this, and yet everyone i tell assumes things and doesn't listen. read CAREFULLY. I said children CAN sin and ARE born sinners. Not that they are accountable and will go to hell. that is your assumption, not mine. Of course they will go to heaven if ever one was to past away at such a young age(heave forbid). Just that the bible says we are born sinners. born in inequity(immoral).
Youre trying to tell me that a new born infant is capable of Sin???
You Know nothing of the Savior OR His Gospel.
One can Only commit Sin if they Know the law AND Disobey The LAW
NB Our spirit Comes From God.When our spirit is Breathed into our bodies as the Bible clearly States we Become a LIVING Soul. When Ones spirit comes directly from God it is clean perfect and Pure.
Time and life takes us furthr from god thru sin becos we come to Know his laws and become disobedient
@jferristube so if a baby threw very rare circumstances somehow cause the death of one of their parents, just because they don't know that killing is a sin, it doesn't count as a sin? That is obviously wrong, and the opposite still applies. They CAN sin. It also can't be an assumption if it is stated in the bible. SMDH...
@lifecon1 so if a baby threw very rare circumstances somehow cause the death of one of their parents, just because they don't know that killing is a sin,
Somethn wrong with your head buddy.
How is a new born Eva gonna kill its mother or anyone for that matter???A new born wudnt understand the word let alone 'Kill' someone
And you say...thru very rare circumstances???
You live on anothr planet?
A new born killing its mother/parent???LOL That has Neva happnd. Not on this planet pal.
@jferristube wow your so illogical. you won't even think about it. SMFH!!! And first how would know that for a fact that it never happened? exactly you cannot. that is an impossibility. This is just an example of a way a baby/child possibly could sin.if you can't even visualize a child/baby sinning regardless if they realize it, then you live on another planet. What about people who live in places where they never heard of god? does that mean they are also excused from sin? if you say no,then..
@jferristube wow your so illogical. you won't even think about it
Dont need to.The bible states clearly that newbors/infants are Not under the Law and therefore cannot sin untill they know the diff between good n bad right n wrong.
This is just an example of a way a baby/child possibly could sin.if you can't even visualize a child/baby sinning regardless if they realize it
Im saying Unless you know what your doing It Is Not Sin.Infants do not know and as far as yur example of an infant "Killing" their parents???You are a Joke.
@lifecon1 This is just an example of a way a baby/child possibly could sin.if you can't even visualize a child/baby sinning regardless if they realize it
Im saying Unless you know what your doing It Is Not Sin.Infants do not know and as far as yur example of an infant "Killing" their parents???You are a Joke.
@jferristube I think god is just as it states in the bible. So obviously since that is known, a person who never heard of Christ cannot go to hell. But as the bible states we are born sinners. So we can sin, but until we are truly capable of understanding sin, have heard of Jesus Christ, and the bible, we are not accountable. Just going by what the bible says.
@jferristube well if your not going to accept evidences the first or second time, or admit your wrong, then i won't waste time with more supports. I swear i wish people could just be more straight up and listen, yet 80-90% of people do exactly what you do. Pretend to listen, ignore, then hypocritically say your right. It shows ignorance. I hope in the future you become more honest not just to others but yourself since you are not doing that right now. May the real Jesus I know save you.
The verse does not say we are born sinners. You obviously dont understand plain simple english.
And Im not wrong.You are
New borns cannot commit sin.Neither infants and your example of infants taking the life of a parent is the mind of a complete fool. Not someone enlightened by the Light of Christ.
Anti christians and aetheists must have a whole lotta fun with you.LOL
@jferristube wow quoting a bunch of verses after denying one won't help you when it says it in plain English. And no Christians don't baptize their babies. Christians though do know the bible much better than you if you can't even admit your errors, not even mentioning all the errors of the BoM. So sad. You are blind and all you can truly reply back with is our verses plus you saying"I am right just because I said so" smh. good luck having a real life. I hope u find the true god of the bible.
@lifecon1 Actually studies show that the Mormons know more about the bible than your average christian because technically the Mormon religion isn't Christianity and they get challenged more so they have to be ready with answers. Though they are still nutty as hell.
Also my baptist father had me baptized when I was a baby and at this church and it done in plenty of other areas too, so yes Christians do baptize babies.
Not that any of this matters it's all BS and a waste of time to talk about.
Pretend to listen, ignore, then hypocritically say your right.
I Am Right and anyone with half a brain would agree with me that new borns and infants Cannot Commit Sin.You have to know and understand the Law to be able to Disobey the Law.They are without sin
the Lord petitioned his apostles and prospective members of the early church, to “believe and be baptized” An infant cannot express a belief in anything, let alone faith in a Savior who atoned for sins they Haven’t Even Committed yet
What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, "You shall not covet.
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
Behold I say unto you that this thing shall ye teach-repentance and baptism unto those who are accountable and capable of committing sin; yea, teach parents that they must repent and be baptized, and humble themselves as their little children, and they shall all be saved with their little children. And their little children need no repentance, neither baptism. Behold, baptism is unto repentance to the fulfilling the commandments unto the remission of sins
@jferristube lol, the Book of Mormon. You do know the story of how it was written and what the founder was known for before he decided to create his religion was don't you?
@lifecon1 Pretend to listen, ignore, then hypocritically say your right. It shows ignorance
I am right.I quoted Paul thats why I say I am right. Its exactly what he said.In The Bible.
Infants/We are All born into a Sinful World and Become sinners.Simple.Paul said.Where There IS NO Law there is NO Sin..He also said we must be taught. We must learn the Law and then we must bring forth Works Meat for Repentance then we are Baptised.Thats Bible.New borns arent able to learn gospel nd repent.
@lifecon1 .if you can't even visualize a child/baby sinning regardless if they realize it, then you live on another planet
If iinfants/newborns dont Realise they are sinning Then as Paul says. They Cannot commit sin.Your example of an infant/newborn or child cud Kill? its parents and therfor commit sin is a mind that is darkened.Ther is no light or love of Christ in you.
Youre right.I cannot visulise such cos as Paul says.AgainYa have to understand the law to sin against it.
@jferristube 2 you don't know what your talking about. EVERYONE CAN SIN! they are only given the choice/freewill to go to heaven/hell once they are able to realize/comprehend what it means to sin. So if a baby/child/person who never heard of god were to sin(which has happened), and past away before knowing god, they go to heaven. Because god is ultimately just. please read the bible more and don't reply saying that's wrong even though the bible states it, which I already gave you an example of.
@lifecon1 EVERYONE CAN SIN! they are only given the choice/freewill to go to heaven/hell once they are able to realize/comprehend what it means to sin.
You do not evn read what I say.
This Is exactly my point.
Once they realise/COMPREHEND.An INFANT or NEWBORN can NOT Comprehend. Therefore an infant CAN NOT Commit Sin.
@lifecon1 if you say this verse is referring just to the mother or adults, then your still wrong so please don't reply with things like that. it means born(shapen) in inequity(immorality) .
@jferristube btw i still read your deleted comment. The whole LDS Church is not evidence the BoM is true. Evidence stating that the BoM did not contradict the bible in any way(but it does) would be evidence that the BoM is true.
Science and scientists have conclusive Irrefutable evidence the earth etc is more than a few days old.The earth and universe is billions of yrs old!Science through Evidence AND Research says we descended from the Ape.
Noahs Ark?Cant be found therefore by your logic.Did not exist.Wheres the stable where Christ was born?Same!Hasnt been identified so cannot be true.Wheres the Ark of the covenant? The 10 commandmnts on the stone tablets?Nowhere to be found!CANT be true.Theres NO evidence...cont
@jferristube Can YOU give us these conclusive evidences?Like state them in a list for example. I am just openly asking this so that we are clear with what you claim is evidence supporting an older earth.
@jferristube um that is why I am asking you. what geological evidences do you think are still to date accurate and have not been dis proven. There are some i think, but they alone do not create a good enough support for an older earth.
Theres absolutely NO Evidence ancient Israelites lived in Egypt. No evidence in Egyptology of great Israelite Leaders among the Pharoahs such as Joseph OR Moses. No science supporting a great mass exodus of 100,000's leaving Egypt. No Evidence=NEVER Happened.According to Your "Logic"Wheres Solomons Temple? The Garden of Eden?
Bet yuv neva read the BoM.At most a few scriptures here n there. If you have I can guarantee you read with a spirit of contempt and anger with No desire to know its truth.
@L4M4N1T3 also look up her history and what she did. she was agianst democracy she did evil tactics to gain power and attacked the holiest of sikh shrines on a sikh holiday and shot down innocent women children and men. she was a tyrant and that is why she was killed. look up history and you will never find a sikh killing a innocent person treating them unfairly or converting a population. sikhism is the most righteous and just religion out there. sikhs deliver justice and protect humanity
@L4M4N1T3 she killed thousands of innocent people and was the cause of much conflict which devastated punjab and the sikh community. her killing was justified and today both sikhs hindus and muslims in india hate her and agree that she deserved death. sikhs are the most tolerant and peacefull people on earth. they never convert people or are unequal to any religion or race or class. they have respect for all religions and have never killed in the name of religion. they only kill tyrants
Truth and in the absence of evidence to support the validity of the Book of Mormon as a historical document, LDS Apostle Russle M. Nelson stated regarding the Book of Mormon..."...You can invite a friend to read the book of mormon. Explain that it is not a novel, or a historical book...". (see LDS dot Org).
You can trust the Bible, it is a historical Book.
here is my testimony :" I have read the Book of Harry Potter with Real Intent and a sincere magic wand in the name of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and the Holy appendage manifested a big bowl of pasta truth to me .So I know the Book of Harry Potter is True!!!!"
@jurney99 bible is just as crazy aswell as the quran. only sikhism is a just peacefull and productive religion. judiasm islam and christianity all violent crazy religions responsible for milions of deaths of innocent people and are destructive/ non productive to the planet
I wasn't done talkin but I accidentally pressed pos.. Anyway just believe in Christ nd god love him and others be like jesus Christ and u will have happiness.. :D
@pakalolo101 Ah, Friedrich Nietzsche: brilliant guy, horrible ideas and ideals. I'm sure the combo of syphilis and persistant drug use really took him from being really weird and twisted to downright evil. But, he is quotable I guess..
whats up with the wierd intense music and speaking? the subject mater doesn't call for it at all. anyway, I'm tired of all the misconceptions of churches going on everywhere on the subject of religion. people need to learn how to discuss views and respect others for thinking differently, rather than arguing like a bunch of winy, stuck up, jerks. Mormons don't go around saying "I'm going to heaven because I'm mormon", unless their morons. We believe in accountability and divine mercy and justice.
@Walnut1871 church goers act obnoxiously arrogant. and why wouldn't they feel empowered to do so? they've got God/Hell on their side. i was raised in the church, so i witnessed this first hand for most of my life, and since figuring out on my own that church wasn't for me ( i wasn't molested or disenfranchised by church leaders/members or anything horrible like, thank goodness) I've come to see just how WILDLY ignorant church folks are about things science readily explains.
Calling names? How Christ-like. Whatever happened to "forgiving 70 time 7"? Typical hypocrite (not that all people of faith are hypocrites but there are plenty ie Rev Haggarty, Rev Swaggart, Senator Larry Craig etc). The American South was and is a center of those with a personal relationship with Christ (like yourself I assume). But He never moved their heart to end enslavement both stealing labor and extra sinfull sexual slavery. Pretty awful for non-athiests if you ask me.
@tradercris You are a double-minded fool and yes I will call you names because it is warranted. Now you are playing the forgiveness card? How typical of a progressive douchebag to egg on a Christian, insult his beliefs and when he responds with any kind of anger or stoops to your level, you throw the Bible in his face. You think I'm stupid? You think I don't know how your brain works? If you've met one liberal athiest, you've met them all. Blows my mind how you all manage to share a brain.
@tradercris Funny how you take televangelist heretics and say all Christians are like that and on the flip side of the coin, you cry like the little baby you are when I used Stalin as an example.
Your problem is that you actually look at the Benny Hinns, Rod Parsleys and the rest of those nutcases and think that their teachings are actually correct. Why don't you read the words of Jesus instead of looking at his false representatives.
LDS believe Christ did everything. And God chooses to save the faithful who continue being faithful. No man can earn his way to heaven. If that were possible there would be no need for a savior. Yet scriptures tell us to continue being faithful and to follow Christ, not that salvation is a one time deal where man has a guaranteed seat in heaven no matter what he does. When the man asked Jesus what he had to do for salvation , he told him to do something, not just claim he believes.
@FAITHandLOGIC Oh the good old "why do you care, it does not affect you" Sadly that logic does not work. And thats the reason most atheists are so big on debating with religious people. Because they dont want to live in a world where people believe in myths and half truths or plain lies.
@Atamv Too bad. Stalin's USSR was atheist and they were sooooo peaceful and happy.
I don't agree with most organized religion but human civilization has been religious and spiritually centered since the beginning. We're not about to change because 10% of the world doesn't like it.
@FAITHandLOGIC Yeah pick the one extreme. Look the idolatry of those communist rules resembles religion very much. They were like gods in the propaganda. And the majority of the people who followed it either were religious or had previously been indoctrinated by religion. One needs only to look at current north korea. Its a fucking cult over there a personality cult. There is hardly any difference in religious belief and personality cults in terms of what goes on in the brain.
@FAITHandLOGIC Besides secularism and atheism did in 100 years what religion failed to do in thousands and thousands of years. Something called progress. And all i see nowadays hindering progress is religiously based conflicts and whatnot.
@FAITHandLOGIC How convenient. You said athiests are killers and those who believe in God arent. But now you qualify it and say even though Catholics believe in God and other exactly the same concepts as Mormons (Christ's death and resurrection, The Trinity, etc) they dont count when they slaughtered people on a grand scale. Easy to argue when you change your position as you go along. Also what about the Mormon who killed his wife and dumped her in a landfill? Or the Meadows Massacre?
@tradercris Listen moron. I'm not a Mormon or a Catholic so if you think I justify that kind of behavior, think again.
My point is that idiots like you (and I'm not apologizing for that) blame religion for wars and murders when it is MAN who is repsonsible for those things. I prove this by showing Atheistic Communism and what they accomplished. All beefs you have with people of faith can easily be attributed to atheism as well. Your problem is with man, not with God.
16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[f] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
The climax came in 1976 when Cowdrey and his friends were examining some old manuscripts in an LDS church library. They came across a few pages from the Book of Mormon in handwriting no one had been able to identify. But before this the researchers had managed to track down some undisputed samples of Spalding’s handwriting at Oberlin College in Ohio, including a deed from January 1811 bearing his signature.
12) And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13) And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
@martlut You expose yourself. The False church of smoke and mirrors, better known as the Roman Catholic church. Void of authority, yet they feign they do. You have not entered the straight gate to life according to Matt. 7
—a great, historic, American myth for which men and women had lived and died and suffered and killed; a myth that had pioneered part of the Wild West, built the state of Utah, and now ruled the hearts and lives and fortunes of millions round the world.
This extract from the Book of Mormon ("translated" from "golden plates" in 1828) was in the handwriting of Solomon Spalding (died 1816)! What the young men had stumbled on was part of the long-lost manuscript of Spalding’s second novel—crushing evidence of Smith’s plagiarism and deceit that had been preserved by the unsuspecting Mormons themselves.
(Who Really Wrote the Book of Mormon? Vision House Publishers, 1977). The LDS Church issued denials of the identification and prohibited any further examination of the relevant manuscript. But the detailed testimonies of two independent handwriting experts
, William Kaye and Henry Silver, are photographically reproduced for all to see: the unquestioned Spalding documents and the supposed Book of Mormon extract are judged professionally to be definitely in the same hand (Walter Martin, The Maze of Mormonism, pp.62–64).
Fictional people mentioned in a fabricated story made a non-existent journey to some vague geographical area where they formed enormous nations, fought massive wars in undisclosed locations, wrote contradictory records in an unknown language and subsequently disappeared without leaving a single shred of evidence they ever existed.
Bible:
Real people in real locations, provable history, comprehensive archaeological support.
We can visit Jerusalem. Mormons can't find Bountiful.
2 Thesalonians 2:1-3 yup we don't fall the false teaching of the con man Joe? smith and his diabolical book of Mormon which contradicts scripture Nor listen to his followers the demoniacs
Mormons worship a Jesus who they? claim was a polygamist and the spirit-brother of Satan. They believe in a Jesus who was not always god and whose blood does not cover all sins. The Jesus of the Mormon Church is not the Jesus of the Bible.
Were their any other People on earth or the Moon before God became God from earthly Parents
God is not a uniquely eternal being. All spirit is self-existent matter and is eternal (without beginning or end). Such "matter (called intelligences) sometimes becomes organized into a spirit being through birth to celestial parents. Then that spirit is born? through human parents on earth. Like all people, God took this course and eventually reached Godhood.
@OrganNLou The word Mormonism is total nonsense. It was made up by critics of the prophet of GOD, Joseph Smith. However Mormon was a prophet that lived around 380AD, and there's a big difference between that great man, and the made up word Mormonism. The church of JESUS CHRIST, Restored in the last dispensation to prepare for the second coming. Now that's the truth, and don't you forget it.
@LDS4Life71 The only thing that is false is Mormonism God had to become god from human parents and then read the gospel the? apostles wrote from a different God then create the universe
@LDS4Life71 another made up God Mormon in another non existent place with other made up Gods and other made up races . Gee Id rather believe in the Cat and the Hat with God Dr Seuse.
@martlut Critics also fail to mention that even if all the Biblical passages were removed from the Book of Mormon, there would be a great deal of text remaining. Joseph Smith was able to produce long, intricate religious texts without using the Bible; if he was trying to deceive people, why did he "plagiarize" from the one book—the Bible—which his readership was sure to recognize?
@LDS4Life71 Joseph Smith said that there are men living on the moon who dress like Quakers and live to be nearly 1000 years old. Since he was wrong about the moon, is it safe to trust him regarding the way to heaven?? (See The Young Woman?s Journal, Vol 3, pages 263, 264.)
Mormonism teaches that in order to be saved on must believe in Joseph Smith, their founder, as well as believe in their Jesus. In his book Doctrines of Salvation, 1:189, Joseph Fielding? Smith proclaims, "NO SALVATION WITHOUT ACCEPTING JOSEPH SMITH
@LDS4Life71 There, amid the quiet and rather dull surroundings of paper and bookshelves, the awesome truth dawned on them: These harmless-looking scraps of aging paper had the potential to shatter once and for all the myth of Joseph Smith the saint and prophet
I believe what's in the Bible, not YOUR interpretation and misuse of parts of it. Even Paul your biggest grace alone proponent didn't think he was "saved". Your's is a false doctrine.
@ truthseek Interestingly enough, in Jesus' time there many groups that did "what the bible says," they were called Pharisees and Saducies (and many others). Jesus' followers didn't base their beleif on "what the bible says," it was based on Chrsit. In doing so, they ended up living more correctly to "what the bible says" interesting situation, no?
@truthseek Indeed Jesus quoted the bible (He wrote it!) The difference is that the Master "taught them as one having authority, not as the scribes." Obviously the Brethren of the church teach from the scriptures (watch an LDS general conference to see) However, the scriptues themsleves teach that revelation is how God communicates with His children. The scriptures are but one faucet of that communicaiton.
@truthseek I'll admit, I need to read my bible more often. We all do. Tell you what, you read the Book of Mormon and I'll read any part of the bible you'd like, we can study together. Fact is, I absolutely love the bible. Ad though I am no expert, I'm fairly well versed in it. One overwelmingly clear fact about the bible is that without revelation on earth, men are lost.
@stevejames1012 Why would we be lost? Because we don't understand that the only men that become gods, even the sons of god are those who practice polygamy? Anyways, I don't want to become a God =/.
As I have said before. We don't believe the prophets to be perfect. Noah wasn't perfect, nor was Moses. Only One perfect Being has ever wlaked this earth and He is whom we worship.
You still haven't answered me concerning the formation of the bible. I know that all men are fallible, inlcuding God's prophets.
@stevejames1012 Your prophets and apostles are not similar to Moses and Noah. God has never appeared to any of them. Ask one of them to give you a truthfull straight answer without bearing a tearfull testimony. Don't let the heart or a shed tear deceive you.
@awol My friend. The shed tears mean nothing without the Spirit. I believe that these men are prophets, not because of countless testimonies and strict symmetry with prophets of old. Not because their works have bourne good fruit or that they manage to accomplish things that someone who is not under the influence of God certainly cannot. I believe because the Spirit of God has testified to me that it is so.
@steve Q. Since the recent youtube format change, have you noticed the inbox comments disappearing when you click on them? Mine do. This is really weird.
@stevejames1012 There is a problem within the testimonies given by the brethren. Nothing is mentioned about who they believe God is. The lds identity of God is seldom talked about publicly. I believe the sincerity and tears come from the strain of obeying all that is required by the church. Along with the work required in public and family life, this emotion is triggered by a subconcious response to the huge load of work that is demanded by the church. What the mind is saying is, I need a break!
@awo I can see what you're saying. In my own experience however, tears and sincerity came to me as I recounted experiences of God's hand in my life. Oft times it had little to do with "church requirements" and more to do with a simple realization of God's love for me. I will agree that many people, inside the church and out bear tearful witness based more on emotion rather than the Spirit. LDS are discouraged from such testimonies, the most powerful testimonies sometime have no tears.
@aw First off, God's origins have not been fully revealed. Who am I to say that He came from a line of dieties. Sure that's how some interpret what Joseph said in the King Follett discourse but that is not official church doctrine and until there is something official, we are left to worry about more important things, such as how we treat others.
@awo In all honestly, the concept of trinity has never made sense to me. HAve you ever tried reading the Nicean creed where the trinity was established? It's downright confusing. On top of that, the bible explicitly shows us, time after time that that cannot be the case.
@awol Oh well that's what I had always thought. LDS believe that hey are 3 seperate beings as well. Why do think people use that as way to criticize LDS theology?
@stevejames1012 I don't believe any human could begin to understand the makeup of God. A deity that creates universes did not begin as a human. God is not a position of authority with 3 seperate persons in the Godhead.
@awo I agree with you that no human will ever understand the complete make-up of God. We have to base all we know off what He has told us through His prophets and the scriptures.
@stevejames1012 Joseph Smiths identity of God, "the Father was a mortal" is not found anywhere in the Bible. You can take the word of God at face value, or believe what Joseph said, "which is not Biblical". Have you taken any time to research the historical character of Joseph? An unbiased look?
@awolL i have. surely there are some things that have been taken out of context and other things that are questionable. he was a human and thus made mistakes. the fact is, if Joseph alone were the crux of the church then facts and speculations about him would carry more validity
@stevejames1012 Josephs restoration was never taught by Jesus or any of his apostles. Restitution does not mean restoration. There are more than a few mistakes.
@awo there are several verses of scripture, bot OT and NT that refer to the restoration during the dispensation of the fullness of times. As well as scriptures referring to the book of mormon.
@stevejames1012 Show me these Biblical verse. If you are talking about the 2 sticks found in Eze 37:16, you have been deceived. The 2 sticks are uniting the tribes of Juda and Joseph. It isn't not talking about a book.
@stevejames1012 That is twistianity. The sticks are not the Bookofmormon and the Bible. Every last one of those verses are talking about Jerusalem and the house of Israel. Joseph and Sidney stole the identity of the Jews. They built up a wall around the people, making them think they are chosen, special, like the Israelites. The relation of this Biblical verse to the lds church is far away from reality.
I get a bit annoyed when mormons try to use Bible verses to prove their beliefs. Here is the difference Steve. Christians base their beliefs on WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS. Bogus religions base their belief systems on 'other' material, then they shoe horn what the Bible says to make it match their beliefs. It's called twistianity, not Christianity. Admit, your belief system would be established with or without what the Bible says.
@truthseek As I have said before, the bible itself holds no authority. Authority comes from Christ, not a book. The LDS religion is not based on the bible, it'sbased on what the bible is based on - - Revelation and prophecy.
@truth The problem with going only with "what the bible says," is that it is interpreted so many ways. If there were only one, unanimous way to read and understand the bible, then there would not be thousands of different churches that proffess to do "what the bible says." That's why we can't rely on how men interpret Holy Writ, we must rely on prophesy, just like those in the bible.
Those with true Christian faith don't consider it a problem, only those trying to shoe horn Biblical text to their belief system do, just like i said earlier. Here, lets try it again, it's also referred to as fitting the text to your beliefs, rather than fitting your beliefs to the text. It's not about the religion, it's about being born again and accepting the gift of salvation through grace. I don't think false prophets fit in there.
@stevejames1012 If you are part of the body of Christ, you are part of the true belief system. You do not belong to the one true church because you are a member of the LDS. Being part of a Christian church also does not guarantee your relationship with God either. You have the incorrect understanding that Jesus created a physical organization that needed to be restored. Correct me if I'm wrong! Thanks!
@php1 Being part of any church does not guarantee a relationship with God. The church is designed to help us develop said relatioship. You say that Christianity is the one true belief system, there's nothing systematic about it. Everyone lives it as they please. it is a kingdom divided. I have the correct understanding that Jesus created an organization the needed to be restored. This is clear in the NT.
@stevejames1012 Agreed until, "the needed to be restored. This is clear in the NT." If something is restored that was never really there, or if something is restored that has nothing to do with achieving salvation, what is the point. The thing that comes to my mind is polygamy and even the Word of Wisdom.

Don't try to change, open your life to His love first and then He will change you =)
Drooblemeister 6 months ago
@Drooblemeister Don't try to change, open your life to His love first and then He will change you =)
thats exactly what LDS believe.Come unto him and thru obedience to his laws he will change us.
jferristube 3 months ago
I was just trying to counter the religious spirit that often comes from Christians sometimes, like even in this video. We have to remember that obedience comes after salvation, it's the result of our faith and what Christ already offers us, not because of anything good we have done, but because He already loved us first, before He even created us and before we ever respond to that love =) Grace implies a gift freely given to all, it's freely given, and then we change =)
Drooblemeister 3 months ago

Drooblemeister 2 months ago
@jferristube then how do they obey a book that clearly contradicts the bible(which can be proven by research)? The answer is simple. look for which one has the supporting evidences. Since the bible does, it is conclusive that it is true, but the LDS and the book of Mormon is not. plain logical, correct.
lifecon1 2 months ago
@lifecon1 Since the bible does, it is conclusive that it is true,
Wheres the supporting evidence that god created the earh etc in just 6 days?Proof of a worldwide flood? That Jesus raised the dead and Himself? That He walked on water? And You speak of Logic?Healed the blind deaf and the possessed? There is NO Proof of such now is there!
Show me one teaching in the BoM that contradicts the Bible.
The Bible itself testifies of the BoM.The whole LDS Church is Evidence the BoM is true.
jferristube 2 months ago
@jferristube The whole LDS Church is not evidence the BoM is true. An example of an contradiction would be that they do not believe we are born sinners. Now that does not mean if a young child or baby dies they go to hell. It just means we are born sinners. That is one example of many that can be found.
lifecon1 2 months ago
@lifecon1 An example of an contradiction would be that they do not believe we are born sinners
babies aint born sinners. They are NOT capable of Sin.Do Not even comprehend Sin so how can they sin? They Cant.
Infants who die go straight to the Kingdom of God.Thats the Atonement
jferristube 2 months ago
@jferristube so if a child lets say is 3 years old kicks an adult in the balls on purpose because they are bad and know that it was wrong. You are saying that is not sin??? Yes that is sin! I agree that babies and young people go to heaven, but they can sin, and the bible states that they are born sinners. smh
lifecon1 2 months ago
@lifecon1
I disagree

Rediculous and totally against the atonement and the Nature of God
jferristube 2 months ago
@jferristube now your assuming. I said this, and yet everyone i tell assumes things and doesn't listen. read CAREFULLY. I said children CAN sin and ARE born sinners. Not that they are accountable and will go to hell. that is your assumption, not mine. Of course they will go to heaven if ever one was to past away at such a young age(heave forbid). Just that the bible says we are born sinners. born in inequity(immoral).
lifecon1 2 months ago
@lifecon1

If theyve never heard of Christ will they be judged the same as those who Know the Gospel and who Disobeyed??What do You think?

@jferristube I think god is just as it states in the bible. So obviously since that is known, a person who never heard of Christ cannot go to hell. But as the bible states we are born sinners.

Because god is ultimately just. please read the bible more and don't reply saying that's wrong even though the bible states it, which I already gave you an example of.

whats up with the wierd intense music and speaking? the subject mater doesn't call for it at all. anyway, I'm tired of all the misconceptions of churches going on everywhere on the subject of religion. people need to learn how to discuss views and respect others for thinking differently, rather than arguing like a bunch of winy, stuck up, jerks. Mormons don't go around saying "I'm going to heaven because I'm mormon", unless their morons. We believe in accountability and divine mercy and justice.

Pretty awful for non-athiests if you ask me.
tradercris 1 year ago
@tradercris You are a double-minded fool and yes I will call you names because it is warranted. Now you are playing the forgiveness card? How typical of a progressive douchebag to egg on a Christian, insult his beliefs and when he responds with any kind of anger or stoops to your level, you throw the Bible in his face. You think I'm stupid? You think I don't know how your brain works? If you've met one liberal athiest, you've met them all. Blows my mind how you all manage to share a brain.
FAITHandLOGIC 1 year ago
@tradercris Funny how you take televangelist heretics and say all Christians are like that and on the flip side of the coin, you cry like the little baby you are when I used Stalin as an example.
Your problem is that you actually look at the Benny Hinns, Rod Parsleys and the rest of those nutcases and think that their teachings are actually correct. Why don't you read the words of Jesus instead of looking at his false representatives.
FAITHandLOGIC 1 year ago

Atamv 1 year ago
@Atamv Too bad. Stalin's USSR was atheist and they were sooooo peaceful and happy.
I don't agree with most organized religion but human civilization has been religious and spiritually centered since the beginning. We're not about to change because 10% of the world doesn't like it.
FAITHandLOGIC 1 year ago
@FAITHandLOGIC Yeah pick the one extreme. Look the idolatry of those communist rules resembles religion very much. They were like gods in the propaganda. And the majority of the people who followed it either were religious or had previously been indoctrinated by religion. One needs only to look at current north korea. Its a fucking cult over there a personality cult. There is hardly any difference in religious belief and personality cults in terms of what goes on in the brain.
Atamv 1 year ago
@FAITHandLOGIC Besides secularism and atheism did in 100 years what religion failed to do in thousands and thousands of years. Something called progress. And all i see nowadays hindering progress is religiously based conflicts and whatnot.

@FAITHandLOGIC Have you heard of The Spanish Inquisition?
tradercris 1 year ago
@tradercris Those were the Catholics. Stop lumping Biblical Christianity in with Catholicism. They are polar opposites.
FAITHandLOGIC 1 year ago
@FAITHandLOGIC How convenient. You said athiests are killers and those who believe in God arent. But now you qualify it and say even though Catholics believe in God and other exactly the same concepts as Mormons (Christ's death and resurrection, The Trinity, etc) they dont count when they slaughtered people on a grand scale. Easy to argue when you change your position as you go along. Also what about the Mormon who killed his wife and dumped her in a landfill? Or the Meadows Massacre?
tradercris 1 year ago
@tradercris Listen moron. I'm not a Mormon or a Catholic so if you think I justify that kind of behavior, think again.
My point is that idiots like you (and I'm not apologizing for that) blame religion for wars and murders when it is MAN who is repsonsible for those things. I prove this by showing Atheistic Communism and what they accomplished. All beefs you have with people of faith can easily be attributed to atheism as well. Your problem is with man, not with God.

OrganNLou 1 year ago
@OrganNLou The word Mormonism is total nonsense. It was made up by critics of the prophet of GOD, Joseph Smith. However Mormon was a prophet that lived around 380AD, and there's a big difference between that great man, and the made up word Mormonism. The church of JESUS CHRIST, Restored in the last dispensation to prepare for the second coming. Now that's the truth, and don't you forget it.

@ truthseek Interestingly enough, in Jesus' time there many groups that did "what the bible says," they were called Pharisees and Saducies (and many others). Jesus' followers didn't base their beleif on "what the bible says," it was based on Chrsit. In doing so, they ended up living more correctly to "what the bible says" interesting situation, no?
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@stevejames1012
Actually yes they did, and so did Jesus, who read from scripture constantly. Man, you need to crack your Bible once in a while.
truthseeker1973 1 year ago
@truthseek Indeed Jesus quoted the bible (He wrote it!) The difference is that the Master "taught them as one having authority, not as the scribes." Obviously the Brethren of the church teach from the scriptures (watch an LDS general conference to see) However, the scriptues themsleves teach that revelation is how God communicates with His children. The scriptures are but one faucet of that communicaiton.
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@truthseek I'll admit, I need to read my bible more often. We all do. Tell you what, you read the Book of Mormon and I'll read any part of the bible you'd like, we can study together. Fact is, I absolutely love the bible. Ad though I am no expert, I'm fairly well versed in it. One overwelmingly clear fact about the bible is that without revelation on earth, men are lost.
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@stevejames1012 Why would we be lost? Because we don't understand that the only men that become gods, even the sons of god are those who practice polygamy? Anyways, I don't want to become a God =/.
php12345 1 year ago
@p Just curious, what do you believe heaven is like?
stevejames1012 1 year ago
As I have said before. We don't believe the prophets to be perfect. Noah wasn't perfect, nor was Moses. Only One perfect Being has ever wlaked this earth and He is whom we worship.
You still haven't answered me concerning the formation of the bible. I know that all men are fallible, inlcuding God's prophets.
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@stevejames1012 Your prophets and apostles are not similar to Moses and Noah. God has never appeared to any of them. Ask one of them to give you a truthfull straight answer without bearing a tearfull testimony. Don't let the heart or a shed tear deceive you.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awol My friend. The shed tears mean nothing without the Spirit. I believe that these men are prophets, not because of countless testimonies and strict symmetry with prophets of old. Not because their works have bourne good fruit or that they manage to accomplish things that someone who is not under the influence of God certainly cannot. I believe because the Spirit of God has testified to me that it is so.
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@steve Q. Since the recent youtube format change, have you noticed the inbox comments disappearing when you click on them? Mine do. This is really weird.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awo yes I have. It drives me crazy lol. I'm glad it's not just me i guess.
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@stevejames1012 There is a problem within the testimonies given by the brethren. Nothing is mentioned about who they believe God is. The lds identity of God is seldom talked about publicly. I believe the sincerity and tears come from the strain of obeying all that is required by the church. Along with the work required in public and family life, this emotion is triggered by a subconcious response to the huge load of work that is demanded by the church. What the mind is saying is, I need a break!
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awo I can see what you're saying. In my own experience however, tears and sincerity came to me as I recounted experiences of God's hand in my life. Oft times it had little to do with "church requirements" and more to do with a simple realization of God's love for me. I will agree that many people, inside the church and out bear tearful witness based more on emotion rather than the Spirit. LDS are discouraged from such testimonies, the most powerful testimonies sometime have no tears.
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@stevejames1012 Why publicly proclaim the Biblical trinity, and hide the belief that God came from a long line of deities?
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@aw First off, God's origins have not been fully revealed. Who am I to say that He came from a line of dieties. Sure that's how some interpret what Joseph said in the King Follett discourse but that is not official church doctrine and until there is something official, we are left to worry about more important things, such as how we treat others.
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@awo In all honestly, the concept of trinity has never made sense to me. HAve you ever tried reading the Nicean creed where the trinity was established? It's downright confusing. On top of that, the bible explicitly shows us, time after time that that cannot be the case.
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@stevejames1012 In the trinity, the Father is not the Son and likewise for the Holy Ghost. The Bible is clear about 1 God.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awol Oh well that's what I had always thought. LDS believe that hey are 3 seperate beings as well. Why do think people use that as way to criticize LDS theology?
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@stevejames1012 I don't believe any human could begin to understand the makeup of God. A deity that creates universes did not begin as a human. God is not a position of authority with 3 seperate persons in the Godhead.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awo I agree with you that no human will ever understand the complete make-up of God. We have to base all we know off what He has told us through His prophets and the scriptures.
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@stevejames1012 Joseph Smiths identity of God, "the Father was a mortal" is not found anywhere in the Bible. You can take the word of God at face value, or believe what Joseph said, "which is not Biblical". Have you taken any time to research the historical character of Joseph? An unbiased look?
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolL i have. surely there are some things that have been taken out of context and other things that are questionable. he was a human and thus made mistakes. the fact is, if Joseph alone were the crux of the church then facts and speculations about him would carry more validity
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@stevejames1012 Josephs restoration was never taught by Jesus or any of his apostles. Restitution does not mean restoration. There are more than a few mistakes.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awo there are several verses of scripture, bot OT and NT that refer to the restoration during the dispensation of the fullness of times. As well as scriptures referring to the book of mormon.
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@stevejames1012 Show me these Biblical verse. If you are talking about the 2 sticks found in Eze 37:16, you have been deceived. The 2 sticks are uniting the tribes of Juda and Joseph. It isn't not talking about a book.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@awolLD "sticks" are symbols of both scrolls (records) and peoples (branches). The theme of the gathering of Israel is central to LDS belief.
Isa. 2:2, 11:11, 29:14, Jer. 31:31, Ez. 37:26, Dan 2:44, Joel 2:28, Amos 3:7 (this one is especially important), Mal. 3:1, Matt. 17:11,
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@stevejames1012 That is twistianity. The sticks are not the Bookofmormon and the Bible. Every last one of those verses are talking about Jerusalem and the house of Israel. Joseph and Sidney stole the identity of the Jews. They built up a wall around the people, making them think they are chosen, special, like the Israelites. The relation of this Biblical verse to the lds church is far away from reality.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@stevejames1012
Admit, your belief system would be established with or without what the Bible says.
truthseeker1973 1 year ago
@truthseek As I have said before, the bible itself holds no authority. Authority comes from Christ, not a book. The LDS religion is not based on the bible, it'sbased on what the bible is based on - - Revelation and prophecy.
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@truth The problem with going only with "what the bible says," is that it is interpreted so many ways. If there were only one, unanimous way to read and understand the bible, then there would not be thousands of different churches that proffess to do "what the bible says." That's why we can't rely on how men interpret Holy Writ, we must rely on prophesy, just like those in the bible.
stevejames1012 1 year ago
@stevejames1012
I don't think false prophets fit in there.
truthseeker1973 1 year ago
@stevejames1012 If you are part of the body of Christ, you are part of the true belief system. You do not belong to the one true church because you are a member of the LDS. Being part of a Christian church also does not guarantee your relationship with God either. You have the incorrect understanding that Jesus created a physical organization that needed to be restored. Correct me if I'm wrong! Thanks!
php12345 1 year ago
@php1 Being part of any church does not guarantee a relationship with God. The church is designed to help us develop said relatioship. You say that Christianity is the one true belief system, there's nothing systematic about it. Everyone lives it as they please. it is a kingdom divided. I have the correct understanding that Jesus created an organization the needed to be restored. This is clear in the NT.

@stevejames1012 Agreed until, "the needed to be restored. This is clear in the NT." If something is restored that was never really there, or if something is restored that has nothing to do with achieving salvation, what is the point.
