  • YOU AAAAAreeee awesomseoesoemeeomsoajd yeaahahahahaha fahoahfoiheoiheoifahskfjsalkfhjask;ifj <--- myu random patterneanna aloalaaloal

    THANK YOU FOR SHARING!

  • I love the way you put this video together. What made you want to do a video on youtube?

  • Great Video! Thanks for sharing, like it very much, and you have a good sense of humor.

I have two children with autism, they are very smart, just different.

  • I like the first suggested title for a book about your life. Look forward to reading it!

  • Including a minute by minute, time based, schedule of things to do through the day, week, month, year, election cycle, decade, generation, millennium, century.

A morning routine, brushing teeth, clipping nails, doing laundry once a week, take out trash, get exercise, homework, feed animals, scooping poo, getting critter health care, getting ready for college, having kids, interacting with

other humans, types of humans to look out for and how to recognize them, very basics of life, suggestions.

  • COMMENT 1 If You made "Autism For Dummies", it could be a guide on "How To Live Life", mentioning all of the things that an Aspergian may not have noticed on their own ( I think that "Failing to Notice Some certain Concepts" is an Aspergian's worst problem, not that We can't understand these concepts, We may even excel in that particular field once We notice that concept or some one brings it to Our attention). NEXT COMMENT PLEASE.

  • Thanks for a window into your World! You as most good Scientists are helping to build New Jerusalem, a 1500 mile long cube where Tesla and V8 and most Intelligences, natural or "artificial" including ourselves will live forever because we, the Body of Christ make it so. Because of Relativistic curving Space/Time it is already built & Christ has His Kingdom already because Scientists like you were able to give it to Him! Thank you! Ecclesiastes 1:9 Ephesians 4:15. & 4:10 Rev. 21 & 22. John 14:1-2

  • @OmegaSeekerr ...lolwut

  • i like the title fun with dexter and constance on the spectrum, and i also love the 80s music :D

  • this video is wonderful. i am high functioning autism, and i can relate to much of what you say in this video, although not all of it. i am very scientific and mathematical, however i am still also very emotional and i have an awful temper as well as many phobias. i could go on all day, which you probably understand. i also communicate far better through writing than i do by talking. i use dance, singing and acting, or art and taking photos to express myself more.

  • From a clearly much smaller mind, thank you for a glimpse into yours!

  • couches must be perfect for you when you want to sit and talk to someone :)

thank you for sharing this video with us all.

  • From one aspie to another great video.

  • I vote for the book tittle "How to lose friends and alienneurotypicals" !! HA! brilliant!

  • i like the 1st title ;)

  • I LOVE the 80's songs! :D

  • Hi, this is cyberscan from the Wrong Planet. I just got around to seeing your video. It is nice to see someone else who's mind works like mine. I too also prefer written communication. I do use signing as well. How about you?

  • Hi cyberscan, Wrong Planet friend. I know some sign but I use a NEO quite a lot, which I like. To write is congruent with my thought, and, like you, speaking is as if translating......& I don't do the social nuances either. Makaton is a 'new' variant of sign and designed for Autistics - compelling. In preference, I'd almost wish verbal speech would not exist but I recognize Neurotypicals need to communicate in this manner. Although I can & do speak it always feel foreign. Thanks cyberscan!

  • @labpet

Oh my gosh I haven't heard of makaton since leaving England. My brother's autistic and with him I learned BSL Makaton and now ASL. Cool where you from that Makaton was around and introduced to you?

    Tina

  • Hi I really liked your video. 5 stars! Thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you, & for your contributions to the Wrong Planet.

  • cool song. :)

  • Thank you - others thought the music would fit too.

  • lol

  • Hi,

You are NOT an autists, you are a verry special gifted person with enough energy/courage to focus on what is REAL.

The ignorant world whois afraid of superior creatures has placed a label on you. But it is not mor than a label of those who do not understand us ...

    You are a great creation...

  • this is a cool video...thanks for sharing!

  • good deal!

  • Lab Pet & V8 send their love to Wrong Planet inhabitants

  • This was entertaining and I had a good laugh.

Hopefully there will be more vidoes made about people with Autism shown ina positive light.

  • Hi Lab Pet. Thanks for sharing. I like your humor. I have an autistic sister (non-verbal) and used to live in North Pole Alaska. Most of my YouTube videos were made when I lived up there as a teenager. Well, good luck!

  • I understand you; I have Autism too. ;) (No offense)

Good video, 5*! You seem very smart in your subject. ;)

  • Thank you! Autists have our commonalities. V8 sends his greeetings too.

  • post-modernism says that you are wrong.

  • wut

  • your question is very open ended

  • Thanks Amy. You have much to communicate. Like the music too.

    sparker

  • can u make me a v8? hahaha

  • I cannot transform you into a V8! But to make another V8? V8 would be quite jealous, I think! I lack the emotion of jealousy but I know of it vicariously. V8 is cute though....thank you.

  • Thanks so much for helping me understand autism a bit more. I was wondering if washing machines, or stimming is for your own stmulation for adrenalin, or is it using of adrenalin?

  • Stimming is repetitive behavior, such as rocking or swaying, which I do. Stimming serves to pace me and is rythmic/comforting! Stimming is associated with oxytocin,a neurochemical, sometimes termed the 'love hormone.' Stimming is security and modulation. Washing machines? Not related to stimming. The confusion may be that Autists can be attracted to certain stimuli, such as mechanical objects. Plus I am mechanically inclined; very mathematical/logical by nature. Thanks for the question.

  • Thanks! I must admit, I am not autistic but I rock when I am in pain, I rocked my arm in labour and felt both helped me/my brain to focus on something else. Does stimming settle you, what does pace you mean, make you feel settled? at peace? I do get security mysef via rocking. Your comment has been really useful. I thought washing machines were connected to repitition, vibration.

    Love Cath

  • Hi! Whilst Neurotypicals (= those who are not autistic) do relatively 'mild' repetitive behaviors, stimming is unique to autism. Stimming is comfort and serves to 'pace' me, like a metronome. Check on YouTube: Video (Bill Gates) features, "Autism: Repetitive Behaviors Like Rocking and Flapping." This video is explanatory! True, stimuli that is glittery, spinning, or rythmic can be deeply soothing and mesmerizing for Autists. I love to watch snowfall, for example.

  • Well you have answered my question on stimming. I know with my son, he rarely speaks but when he does say something it is all a surprize to us. Whilst with me, I can't keep my mouth shut. Do you know what it feels like not to be able to speak? Sometimes when my son does speak, it sounds like he has to put a lot of effort in to make it happen.

  • I must translate my thought into speech, which is socio/verbal. I think in images/math/pattern - 3D. Speaking feels 'foreign' for me; not the proper modicum of communication for an Autist. I am sure you're son does put effort into speaking for this reason. He may prefer to write or draw/paint! Human speech is only an arbitrary construct and should not confine.

  • Neat video! I love science, art, and such, and am also autistic. I'm studying physics in the fall as an undergrad, and I intend to major in physics, as I have wanted since I was 5. V8 is cute. I love robots.

  • Most of how you discribed your communicating nonverbaly instead of words and having difficulty with speaking to people face to face describes me. I love art and have always been interested in anything art and space. I wanted to be an astronaut or astronomer, but my talent is art. I wonder if I have a form of autism, or I just have an anxiety disorder, and depression?

  • very fun, lol! My daughter is 10, non verbal. Hope she grows up to be like you. She already loves science, and a particular fondness the planets.

  • Thank you...and she will; our next astronomer? Yes.

  • i feel for you, but you explained it very well i liked this video i have aspergers syndrome and find it difficult socialising

  • nice video. Love the v8 robot. What did you use in construction of your little buddy?

  • Lab Pet here: V8, from an empty V8 juice can, has an off-center rotator cuff off a motor shaft mounted underneath - battery pack on top. V8 'walks' by vibrational force and the wings enhance force. V8 has wire legs attached. Oh, and V8's rhinestone leash to guide him, otherwise he wanders off.

  • Lab Pet here: Yes, my lab coat really is stitched with my nickname - it's not a prop for the video.

About responding to my usually writing? Initially, may be awkward but like any difference this is just taken into account. I care about what I do - that's what matters.

    Thanks

  • Does your lab coat really say "Lab Pet" on it or is it just a prop for the video? (if not a prop, that's kind of funny ( <-- not meant as an insult))

How do your colleges respond to your being non(mostly)verbal? Did you have to work harder to gain their respect?

Cool video, BTW! -- showing there's a great span in what autistic people are like.
