@LynxMK1 It would take a black hole accelerating an object like that to several million mph for that to happen, but i guess it is plausible. There are many forces in the universe that could easily destroy our planet, but thats not the case in this particular instance.

NOPE! 1st, ash would eventually consume the atmosphere blocking out the sun, so unless you were thinking super-sci-fi, and coal miners repopulating earth somehow, it aint gonna happen. 2nd, the air that wasn't used up as fuel by the incendiary effect of impact would be super-heated so the last desparate gasps of air we did take in would be so hot in would cook you from the inside.

That is without a doubt some sad shit. After another 1 or 2 billion years, everything styarts over again as this happened to earth several times before, includind the extintion of dinossaurs, a comet that hit the planet. In a strange way of looking at it, this violent disaster is very tragic but at the same time, a beatutiful spectacle of the universe. Imagine you by yourself, if you were immune to this, being able to see this on earth's surface... This is something you don't see everyday :)

I do believe that what can be seen here is a full posibility and I would hardly be surprised if Earth got knocked out or orbit.

Besides, even if half of Earth sustained the dammage that can be seen at the end, I am sure that the moon would have effectively 'blew' the atmosphere away, pulling people and objects into the Vaccuum to die.
