I heard on the radio this morning that this scandal has actually HELPED Cain in the polls. If true, my guess this is because, currently, men inclined to like Cain either feel he's falsely accused or flat out approve of his behavior. Women inclined to like Cain are probably reserving judgment while they wait for more details - if they're bad they will turn on him, no question.

Whenever an employee is let go for a reason, there is an agreement that says you agree to A, B and C (depending on the situation) and at return they will get X amount of weeks paid which usually depend on how long they worked at the company.
